Mitas E-07 Plus Tires

Standing on the shoulders of the extremely popular E-07 is the E-07+, a version specifically designed for the largest of trail going motorcycles. With cross-ply construction and a slightly modified big-block chevron tread pattern, the E-07+ provide excellent grip on both pavement and the roughest terrain. The big block design of the E-07+ not only provides extra stability on pavement, but also pulls double duty when the going gets tough by quickly evacuating mud, water and sand that can become lodged in smaller tread blocks, effectively turning your knarly knobby into a free-spinning race slick.

  • 50% street / 50% dirt
  • Big block chevron tread pattern for optimal grip on and off pavement
  • Dakar version features a reinforced sidewall

Perfect balance on/off road tire
I just did 1500 miles through Oregon backcountry on a Yamaha Super Tenere with this tire, E-07 in the front and E-07+ in the rear (+ not available on the front for the tennere yet), and I loved it. We did sand, steep rocky hill climbs, gravel roads, and paved twistys, and I felt solid the entire time. They stick on pavement, hanging in corners to the edge of the tread.

They are much quieter than the MotoZ tires I replaced, and they handle as well as the TKC-80 on pavement and offroad. No traction issues. No issues holding air either. I'm guessing the guy with the air issue needs to sand the inside of his rim. I've seen corrosion build up on aluminum rims causing leaks. That's not a tire issue. It's a maintenance issue.

All three of us on the trip were running the same setup. Great tires!

I really wanted to love these
This is a review of the E07+ Front Tire (on a 2017 R1200GSA) -and I wish it was all good. At first I had really high hopes. Replaced my slightly cupped TCK80 and immediately noticed a much quieter ride at low speeds. Big difference under 60mph. BTW, I'm running the Motoz Tractionator on the rear and after 3500 miles I still have plenty of tread ... and no complaints.

Unfortunately, at highway speeds these things have a very disturbing high pitched whine. It's much worse and happens at lower speeds if you air down. Otherwise, except for the fact that mine lost air over time (about 6 lbs per week), I found it to be a very acceptable all-rounder. Rode much of the MABDR and found them very stable on loose gravel. Did an off-road challenge course at 2 different rallys and had no problems (at least as far as the front tire is concerned!). Wet pavement, twistys, mud and deep ruts - all good. I noticed no difference vs the TKC80. After 2500 miles (around 1,000 off road) they are wearing very evenly and I would guess have at least another 2500 to go.

But for me, the noise and the air loss turns the tide back towards the far from perfect TKC80 which I am re-installing tomorrow.

Still looking for something better - but in my opinion these are not it.

Very Disappointed
Ive never reviewed anything before. Just feel obligated to write this. I ride a 2017 BMW R1200 GSA. I bought these tires hoping for better rear tire mileage. I normally run TKC 80s. I'm 3500 miles into my trip. My rear may have another 1k left of tread. 4500-5k is what I get from the TKC 80 rear. They of course don't work as well as 80s off road but they do pretty well. They stick really well on pavement during aggressive riding. They are also quieter than the 80s when not using ear plugs. Wet riding they do well also. My biggest complaint is that my front and rear DO NOT HOLD PSI. Front is the worst. I'm losing 5-10 psi every other day. Maybe I have a bad set??? I ride many thousands of miles a year on this bike and I own 4 others. I've owned 24 bikes over the years and have worked in the industry for over 20 years. I have NEVER had this problem on any of my bikes or bikes I've worked on. It's crazy. I will not buy another set. I will not buy another rear to match the front when it wears out. Changing both as soon as I get home.
