Some call 'em the "Holy Grail" of motorcycle gear. We think the weight reduction and tensile strength that comes natural to the synthetics used in construction makes carbon fiber motorcycle helmets a hard-to-beat option. It is not uncommon for a carbon fiber version of a motorcycle helmet to be 8 to 12 ounces lighter than a standard fiberglass counterpart. While this may not seem like a lot on paper, your neck will thank you on the road, where turbulent buffeting and wind constantly search for a head to bobble.
Lightness is only half the story, though! The more important advantage to a carbon fiber weave is the way in which it distributes energy upon impact. A properly woven CF helmet takes each iota of energy and transfers the force equally across the entire length of the fiber. This fiber in turn, transfers the energy to adjacent fibers in the weave and so forth, each time diluting the force and reducing the amount of energy transferred to your head.

The last advantage, but often the first one to be noticed, is the stunning looks and sharp design of carbon fiber helmets. The woven pattern screams of technical design and the more carefully-laid hand-woven carbon fiber shells are simply works of art. The flexible nature of the beast allows this material to be used in a variety of applications, including gloves, race suits, and boots, but that is another story for a different time. You'll find full face carbon fiber motorcycle helmets, open face carbon fiber motorcycle helmets, and simply kick ass carbon fiber motorcycle helmets in the product listings on this page.
