Trials tire great for on road/ off road.
I have had the Pirelli MT43 rear tire on my CRF250L for over 1500 miles and this tire still has about 50% tread left. Very comfortable on road and off road. Surprises my friends how much traction I get on and off road.

Great tire. Highly Reccomend

I mostly encounter rock, dirt and roots in the Rockies. This is my go-to tire for sticky riding AND it covers the DOT cert req for legal street tires. The guys I ride with all agree that this is our rear tire. Not for mud, though.

Replacing a worn out one, awesome tire in coastal BC wet rocks and roots. I run this tire all over McNutt / Blue Mountain in Maple Ridge, BC.

I have heard of others doing it, but would this fit on a 140/80x18 and a 90/90x21?

BEST ANSWER: I'm not an expert but this is my understanding. I'll only comment on the rear... 4.00 x 18 is the same as 100 x 18 (4.00 inches = 100 mm), further this 4.00 x 18 is a 'full aspect ratio' tire so profile = 100... so this is essentially a 100/100x18 rear tire. Essentially it is 40 mm narrower than your tire. It is also 24 mm smaller in diameter, 100x1.00=100mm tall vs. 140x0.80=112mm tall (in radius and diameter = 2 x radius) so 12mm x 2 = 24mm smaller in diameter, so clearance should not be an issue for you but this will have an effect of lowering your gearing (to some degree). I run this rear only on my 2008 WR250R in place of the stock 120/80x18. This tire performs well in Maple Ridge, BC, search youtube for Blue Mountain Motorcycle Club / McNutt / Route of All Evil Ride. Happy trails.
