Perfect riding jean, IMO
Stylish and comfortable. Tapered leg, so they look good with boots AND low-tops.

The thinner knee armor is a big deal for me. Other jeans I tried on had huge knee pads that affected the comfort, fit, and made them less than stylish off the bike.

Sizing was dead on for me. I'm 6'0", 170lbs. 31/34 fit perfectly, which is what I normally wear in any other jean. I'm also a cyclist and while I don't have the worlds biggest thighs, many skinnier cut jeans don't work for me. The cut on these makes room without getting frumpy.

On the bike, the cuffs did ride up and expose more ankle/calf than I'd like. I ride a Multistrada, so this is always a problem it seems. The good news is that the tapered leg kept the flapping to a minimum. Boot cut jeans always seem to get flapping like crazy at highway speeds.

4 stars for airflow and also 4 stars for protection. They are slightly stuffy in 95 degree heat, and the protection is not going to be what you get from a touring pant. If these were a touring pant, I'd rate them lower, but since they're jeans, I think airflow and protection are expected to be less than ideal.

God listened...and sent me these jeans.
My historical issue with riding jeans is they ALL have been really baggy in the legs and have an enormous amount of fabric in the crotch; that is, the bottom of the zipper rides ridiculously low and they feel and look weird and baggy. So if this is your issue as well, then know that the Austin jeans are closer fitting and have no such extra, comically huge space between the tender bits and the bottom of the zipper. Everything is all hugged up and secure ;) Also, the knee pads in the Ausitns actually cover my knees and not my shins. These jeans are the only riding jeans I’ve tried on that don’t make me feel as if I have an impossible to fit body type. My actual waist size is about a 37 in “normal” non-riding jeans, and my inseam is a 30. I’m 5‘ 9” and 215 lbs. I ordered the 36 inch waist and 32 inseam in the Austins and they are just maybe like an inch-and-a-half too long while standing, but fall to the boots or shoes perfectly in the riding position. The waist size on the Austins do in fact run big, so it’s true that you’d be well advised to order a size down from your regular size that you wear in Levi’s or Dockers. For reference I tried on the Speed and Strength Rust and Redemptions and also the Klim K Fifty Ones. The Rust and Redemptions have a smaller waist and were way too long for me in a 32 inch inseam and also had the knee pads on the shins issue. As for build quality, I think the Austins are just awesome. They are a bit thicker and tougher feeling than the Klim K Fifty Ones and I think the stitching is a little more tough as well. The Klims were tremendously baggy on me and the knee pads covered my shins and almost hit my ankles. Plus, you have to have a master’s degree in mechanical engineering in order to repackage the Klim jeans, so if you order those to try on be forewarned. Lastly, I think the Austins just look bitchin. They are easily stylish enough to wear out bar hopping when you’re not riding. Thanks, I hope this review helped someone.

Great Product for Normal sized people
My only gripe is that I ought to have ordered the "long" version

I usually wear a 32- 34 jean and my Rev'it Lombard jeans with Knox knee armour fit perfectly. These however, the knee armour sits way too high up my leg in the riding position. There is no adjustability in the armour pocket at all. If I had ordered a 32 -36 I might have been in better shape.

Best Riding Jeans!!
These are by far the best riding jeans I've had. The comfort is just excellent, and they fit even better than my most regular jeans. Do not look much like motorcycle jeans when off the bike. They do run slightly larger in waist I think, I wear 38/32 in Levis 501, and these feel about size bigger in the waist, perfect in my big thighs and calves tho. I could've gone for 36/32 easily but they out of stock, if I put hip protector in might be just right. Or belt. Length is on spot, and the knee protector sits where it should, does not bother me at all.

Love these jeans!
As I mentioned in another review, I had been using the same riding jeans for almost a decade until they started falling apart. I decided to splurge on a couple pairs of pants, these and the Klim Outrider pants.

I knew I wanted new jeans and Im glad I went to the showroom to try them on. I went through every pair of jeans they had until I landed on these.

First thing I noticed was they fit amazingly comfortable, no break in needed. They dont feel like riding jeans at all. The size I got was the same as my regular jeans, size 32.

What I really like about these jeans is the knee armor. You can hardly tell its there. Very flexible and not in the way when you want to walk around or hike.

In terms of airflow, these breathe tremendously well. Thats a plus and a minus. I dont think I could use these below 65 degrees as my legs would get cold quick. I would probably switch to my outriders for that. I used them in 75 degree weather though and my legs were very comfortable. I could absolutely wear these all day as if they were regular jeans.

The only downside to these is the tapered bottom. I hate that look in regular jeans and it frustrates me that most, if not all, riding jeans have adopted this style. Basically this means I can only wear my regular riding boots(Sidi Arcadia). Theres no way my Sidi Canyon boots would fit under these.

Baring that last caveat, these are amazing jeans and I would highly recommend them.

Great Looking Jean
The Jean is very comfortable and has some stretch, therefore the size is a little bit large. I originally purchased a size 34 waist based on the sizing chart, but it was too large and returned it for a size 32 waist, which fit perfectly. My first order was a 32" length, but had to settle for a 34" length since they were out of the 32"x 32". I just roll up the legs for a cafe racer style. I am 5'-8" and 166 lbs.

Great Pants
I'll start with that the pants fit large. I measure 36 at the waist and I ordered a size 34, I could have went 32 and I'm guessing it would have been spot on. Nothing a belt didn't take care of and perhaps with the addition of hip armor it will be perfect. They do have about an inch of stretch to them so take note of that. The knee armor is barely felt and with the correct length they should sit right where they need to be. Otherwise this riding jean is exactly as described. Perfectly comfortable while riding too. Much better than a pair of normal jeans.

What is the fit difference between these and the rev'it seattle?
Konrad B on Apr 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Color difference only. Austin is a bit lighter shade.
Will cordura denim melt if it comes in contact with exhaust pipes?
Don M on Aug 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Although I don't have personal experience with this happening, I would have to guess that the fabric would have to be in contact with the exhaust pipes for some length of time (more than just a few seconds) before it would melt. It's pretty durable fabric and these jeans fit great and are comfortable to ride in.
Will these work for a really curvy woman? I'm tall (34-35"inseam needed) and curvy (32" waist, 46" hips)...what pants/jeans will work for me?
