SIDI Adventure 2 GTX Boots

Incorporating the indispensable features of the original ADV powerhouse SIDI Adventure Gore-Tex Boots, the SIDI Adventure 2 Gore-Tex Boots boast upgrades and refinements in strategic areas without upsetting the recipe that made the original such a standout success.

Most salient of the improvements Sidi has made with the redesign of the Adventure 2 Gore-Tex Boots is the full-height 14 inch Gore-Tex gaiter, which now extends 3 inches higher up the shaft for increased waterproofing - especially useful when fording water crossings. With additional stretch at the back of the calf, there is now more space and flexibility in the shaft to accommodate a wider range of rider’s calf-sizes. SIDI has also increased the area of split-grain leather grip paneling on the inside of the calf as well as the instep for better feel when standing on the pegs off road.

The ankle flex system, tongue-in-groove Achilles protector and other TPUs on the SIDI Adventure 2 have been refined for a slimmer overall profile with better protection, eliminating any clumsiness or bulky feel interfacing with the bike. Strategically-placed flex zones allow for better flexibility right out of the box, resulting in a much shorter break-in period, better walkability, dexterity and comfort. Wherever you may adventure to, the SIDI Adventure 2 Gore-Tex Boots are one of the best all-weather, on/off-road ADV boots money can buy.

Features:

  • Gore-Tex highly breathable and waterproof membrane
  • Single Flex System upper no longer squeaks when you walk
  • Tongue-in-groove rear of calf panels protect the Achilles tendon
  • Bonded non-slip lug type sole
  • Replaceable micro adjustable cam lock buckle system with memory retention straps
  • Full Grain Microfiber material is used for the upper’s construction along with Cordura
  • Nylon inner sole with removable arch support pad
  • Beefy pull tab makes entry and exit a breeze
  • Exclusive cam-lock buckle system combined with a VELCRO® brand fastener upper flap with an elastic expansion panel
  • Cambrelle lining
  • Slim, cool non-bootie design
  • Rigid, shock resistant, anatomically shaped heel with hyper extension block for maximum protection
  • Split grain leather inner anti-wear/ heat panels are incorporated to the inside of the boot
  • Reflective panel is placed above the heel for night riding visibility

Solid Boots, great protection
I bought these as a more protective and waterproof boot than the typical "leather work boot" style I have been using. The fit out of the box was great, albeit a little stiff, which was to be expected. They are breaking in quickly and are becoming more and more comfortable. No issues with waterproofness. It is a premium boot and worth the cost for the extra protection.

Adventure Boot Review
This is a great boot with one exception. The boot is extremely comfortable, quickly breaks in, offers great protection for your ankle, foot, shin and calf area. The waterproofing works very well and I like the extra height of the boot waterproofing. Stream crossings, flooded out roads and rainy weather and your feet stay dry. The only draw back on this boot is that it is extremely squeaky when you walk, The chosen materials rub together and create a very annoying squeaking sound. This is very disappointing in a boot of this price point.

SIDI Adventure 2 Gor-tex
These boots are what they claim. Waterproof and comfortable enough to walk in all day. Great gripping soles for crawling around the trail around your bike without sliding. Forge deep water w/o fear. Rain will never be an issue. The only drawback if there must be one is they are a bit hot. But many of my socks are wool. These boots are tough and durable. Easy to put on and to remove. Quality product made from first rate material. No more cold wet feet!
Highly recommended. Very comfortable to wear and walk in.

returned them
I returned these. For near $500 the soles should be stitched on like the Alpinestars Toucan's I bought instead. For being made in Italy the overall quality was not up to the Toucan's. Additionally the protection offered by the Toucan's was evident over the SIDI's

90.000 Km. and still going strong
This is a pricy boot but worth the money. I ride a R1200GS Adventure in all kinds of weather (Location is Netherlands so lots of rain).

Due to this boot not having any ventilation it can become a little bit sweaty in hot summers. In winter in -7 Celsius my tows do get cold after 30 min. Protection from rain/wet snow is superb, no leakage whatsoever.

At 90.000 Km. I did need to shoeshine the front of these babies because of the road salt in winter.

The clips never let me down and I calculated that these have been opened and closed roughly 4000 times after 90.000 km.

My feet are size 42 (EU) and are true to the boot size. Walking on these boots is also (relatively) comfortable thanks to the higher heel. My R1200GSA weighs in at 260+ Kg. with fuel and these boots feel sturdy and offer good grip on dry asfalt and wet and/or slightly muddy roads.

I've worn many boats of different brands but these are the best I ever had so far. Even compared to other Sidi boots!

I thought they were great...
For 550.00 I thought I had purchased the perfect adv boot. After 18 months the boot failed - the sole separated from the boot at the heel. Very disappointed. Sidi only offers a 12 month warranty. I’ve written to their CSR team but am not holding my breath.

A great set of boots
I like these boots for several reasons. Primary is that the cam-lock system works very well for sizing. I have narrow feet and often have to resort to things like thick socks to get some sort of workable fit. I had to fiddle with the locks a bit to get them set up for such a narrow foot, but once I did, it's been really nice having a boot that just fits.

I also like how quickly they go on. They slide onto my feet easily and then lock down securely.

More generally, I'm just back from a 2800 mile trip. After a short break in (before the trip), the boots were quite comfortable while on the bike. Some of the ankle protection stuff means that I wouldn't want to do a 10 mile hike in them, but they were fine off the bike for walking a trail to a waterfall or up and down some staircases to another waterfall. I suspect they'd be OK for a couple of miles hike on a trail.

My feet do stay warm in them; on a hot day, it's nice to take them off at the end of the day. I figure that's the trade off for what appears to be a high level of protection.

My one complaint is that they squeak. The description complains that they no longer squeak, presumably compared with the prior model. If so, the prior model must have required ear plugs. People look when I walk down the hall at work, wanting to see what that weird noise is.

Overall, I'm quite happy to have bought these. They work very well for me. These were one of several pairs that I tried on at the boutique. The price was higher than the others, but I really liked the fit. I've come to like them even more as I've worn them.

Comfortable but not very durable
I didn't purchase these boots from Revzilla, but I feel like i have to make a review so other people know.
Firstly, I used these boots for a ride from UK --> Mongolia, over 16000km. This means i wore them every day for 3 months.

The boots are extremely comfortable and provide ample protection. The hinged ankle means you have articulation but should never over extend your ankle in a crash, unlike un-hinged boots.

Nothing broke ON the trip, which was nice, but close to the end i noticed the soles at the back were starting to separate from the boot (on both boots). The supplier here in Australia just took them back and glued them together. There is now glue visible around the join between the sole and boot, which i'm not thrilled about.

I was a little disappointed with the build quality after this, as when you pay $400+ for boots you expect them to be bulletproof, but unfortunately the stitching around the bottom is FAKE! The soles are only glued to the boot so as soon as water gets between them the adhesive fails.

So far so Good
I bought these boots in spring assuming I can get a chance to use them but didn't. I bought my new adventure touring bike plus all these gear to make some adventure ride. Due to some personal work I had to go out of country and I barely used my bike clocking just 500 miles up until august. In October I got the opportunity to make a trip to Maine for a week with round trip of 3000 miles. The shoes are definitely beefy and bulky. I wasn't preparing to use them since it's just one week trip but the day I set out, Hurricane Nate was starting somewhere near Mississippi and moving towards the east coast taking it's turn in New York state and finally fading off near eastern coast of Maine (The place where I originally planned to destine). The first day ride was peaceful, weather perfect and I reached Binghamton, NY. My second day trip was from Binghamton, NY to Bangor, ME where the influence of Hurricane Nate was heavy. I rode 9 hrs in moderate to heavy rain to down pour. Not even a drop of water got into my boot. After checking into the hotel I removed the shoes and checked my socks for any trace of wetness but it was bone dry. Only my sole of my foot was little bit moistened. These shoes are built like tank. It does require some time to break in. May be these shoes will make great comfort for me in my 3rd or 4th trip. I am going to test these boots this coming summer to see how the airflow work. For now I am extremely satisfied for making a good investment on these pairs since my main intent is to use them mostly in spring and fall and hoping these will live my expectation for many more adventure ride trips.
