Rain storm owned / Overall quality
Car was in the shop, stressed with life, out of sick/vacation days and a torrential rain storm one fall morning. No choice but to fire up my recently purchased used bike with around 35-40% tread life left on these BT-016's. I didn't care about dying this morning and I rode hard and fast in the nastiest hardest rain in a while around these parts. On my 40 minute commute I didn't lose traction once at speeds up to 80-85 hitting water patches and taking a long curving "C" off ramp at an unsafe speed. I got to the office drenched from head to toe (did pack a change of clothes) and thought to myself that was one of the stupidest things I've ever done. These tires probably saved my life. Plus the good Lord.

Excellent tire
Overall these are the best middle of the line tire you can buy.

The good:
-The wear is excellent 8,000miles+ with 5 track days
-Fantastic grip; only left me wanting more when I was moving into the front of the pack in the intermediate group.
-Price is awesome
-Grip in the rain is okay, did one track day in the rain and had to take it easy. Would exceed my expectations for wet commuting.

The bad:
-Can get greasy on an extremely hot day at the track (not an issue for commuting)

Overall you can't go wrong with a set of BT-016's. Im a bridgestone fan for life.

Good feel, long life
My new Zx-10R came fitted with these tires and I wasn't expecting much. But after A couple thousand miles of getting used to the bike, I came to see that these are great tires. They allow my to lean the bike over easily and give my Kawi a super fickable feel. They stick well even in cool weather and are rock solid on the highway at high speeds. Best of all I have 6000 miles on them and I just started looking to replace them with another set.

Great tires. Best bang for the buck.
I have had these tires on my Yamaha FZ1 for 4,000 miles now. My FZ1 is my daily rider. These tires see a variety of use but it is mostly straight up and down commuting. The multiple compound rubber handles this perfectly. I still have plenty of tread left in these tires and there is virtually no flat spot from riding up and down most of the time.

As far as grip, I have never reached the limit of these tires. I'm sure a professional racer could tell the difference in traction but I am not at that level. In the 4,000 miles that have put on these tires, they have seen one track day and some slight canyon carving. I don't have any chicken strips on them so I have pushed them a little. Wet traction is also great. You will be surprised in how much grip these have in the rain. I daily ride rain or shine so that is important to me.

I recommend these tires to anyone who commutes and enjoys spirited riding. They are fine for track days and you don't have to worry about wearing out expensive track tires on the street, or worry about swapping tires for every track day. They are similar to the new S20's so do some comparison research before buying. I am totally satisfied with these tires and I hope to get about 4,000 more miles out of them. I have never gotten such good mileage out of tires that I can take to the track. I'm going to Laguna Seca next month on these tires with 4,000+ miles on them. That's how much I trust them.

Great tire for high grip levels and daily road use
Ive got a 03 sv1000 with bt016 pro front and rear. With the weight of this bike (450 ish) and the high torque it delivers these tires handle it with no problem. Warm up times are great, almost non existent. Ive put 5,500 miles on them and im about due for rear replacement, front still is doing well. They have great turn in bite and great mid corner control. Really nice level of feedback, quite confidence inspiring. Ill be getting another set in the near future.

Great tire
Purchased a set of BT016 tires to replace the worn factory IRC Roadwinners on my Ninja 250 and was simply amazed at the improvement these made. Obviously, the OEM tires were never meant for tearing up the track but they were still a competent enough tire. The BT016 made leaning the bike over in curves that much more comfortable that there was still some traction to be had. In the few times I've been caught out in the rain with these tires they have done well except in the deeper puddles, which I don't expect any tire to handle without some butt-puckering going on. I put approximately 5000 miles on the tires before selling my Ninja 250 and while a bit squared (I'm primarily a commuter) they still had a decent amount of life left; I'd wager there was another 2000-2500 miles left. When time comes to replace the tires on my new bike, the BT016 will definitely be at the top of my list.

A great street tire for the 99%
For the money, this is my favorite street bike tire, hands-down. I've run countless other tires, and none has offered the confidence and communication of this tire. Yes, there are grippier tires out there, to be sure, but none offer up the assurance that these tires do. After ~400 miles, you will be riding faster through the same turn than you were on your last tires, comforted by the knowledge that this tire will keep on doing exactly what you want it to do.
My first set was SHOT at 5,500 miles, and was still doing great in the dry, and even in the damp, and I wouldn't have known to swap them out if I wasn't diligent about pre-ride inspections. I've had them on several supersports now, and they will probably be the only tires I run from here on out!

Very Pleased
I put these in my CB1000R and took them to the Ozarks expecting 80-90 degree weather in May. We got 45-75 wet weather. The tires held the lines great I was very happy with the way they performed in both dry and wet weather. I don't expect as much mileage out of them as a sport touring tire but I can accept that.

I been riding these tires for 3 years....I just love the grip it gives you when hitting corners.

This tire has the perfect balance between grip and longevity! I get great grip while getting 5K out of the rear tire and 8-9K out of the front tire. You cannot get better mileage and grip from any other tire! It is also a very well priced tire! All pros, no cons.
Angelo K on May 11, 2015
It is an OEM tire size/brand for the 2014 BMW s1000RR. It is a proven product for that motorcycle. I'm satisfied with its looks, and its performance. It is also hard to fault it for its value and purpose. Excellent choice not only for me, but for the other bikers who attested to the tires performance and bang-for-the-buck, on online reviews and even here on Revzilla.

what is the 4th set of numbers? I've never seen that before.
A shopper on Aug 15, 2013
BEST ANSWER: The number letter combo in order from left to right are:
Width
Aspect ratio
Speed rating (letter)
R or B for radial or belted
And finally rim size

Hope that helps
I have a 2011 Ninja XZ6R and the manual recommends Bridgestone BATLAX BT016 for the front tire, and recommends 36psi for the front tire. I recently went to a dealer to get a tire swap they installed Dunlop Sportmax Q3 for the front. What I found strange is that this tire has a pressure rating of 42 psi. Why is there a difference is pressure between two tires the fit the same bike??
David L on Aug 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I'm not entirely sure of the specifics of each of these tires, but their compounds are most likely different - meaning one is softer than the other.

I personally ran BT016s on my GSXR750 and would run low to mid 30's on the pressure when on the track or mountain riding on the street.

Generally the lower the pressure, the more your tires will flex and heat up, thus giving you better grip. I hope this helps somewhat. If you feel that your tires are not as responsive with the higher pressure, try lowering them in increments of 2-3 psi before you go out to ride and see if that helps. It isn't uncommon to run slightly higher pressures on the rear tire when compared to your front, either. In the end it's all about how responsive your bike feels to you on the rode.

Lower pressures will also result in quicker tire wear, normally.
What is the recommend tire pressure ?
A shopper on Apr 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I use the same tire pressure that is recommended for the OEM tires on my Kawasaki Ninja 1000. 36 psi front and 42 psi for the rear.
hi, does anyone know how much does it weight? i got to tranport it and the weight is determinating. thank you
A shopper on Mar 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Less than twenty pounds
