Roland Sands Design Bronson Denim Jacket

Like Charles Bronson’s cult western character known only as “Harmonica,” the RSD Bronson Jacket speaks only when the thing needs sayin’. A genuine cowhide collar adds a lick of bravado to the downplayed denim jacket design. Both zippered and button-closure external pockets afford plenty of places to put your essentials. Internal pockets for armor in the elbows, shoulders and back allow you to upgrade the protection (sold separately). Featuring expansion gussets at the shoulder blades, articulated sleeves and a longer cut in the back, the Roland Sands Bronson Jacket achieves a casual fit with motorcycle-cut ergonomics in an understated style that radiates quiet machismo . For the rider with classic tastes, the Roland Sands Bronson Denim Jacket is ready for long days in the saddle - the perfect complement to your weathered cowboy good looks.

Features:

  • 10.5oz indigo denim with silicone wash
  • Classic riding fit with rotated, pre-curved sleeves, dropped back length, and relaxed collar opening
  • Genuine leather collar detail
  • Zippered front and pockets
  • Action-back gussets for ease of motion
  • Armor-ready shoulder, elbow and back protector pockets (armor sold separately)

sleeves too long
I ordered the XL as I have a 46" chest, 6ft tall, 34" waist, fits ok but sleeves are way too long - by an inch and a half, they need altering (+$70.00), should have ordered an 'L' and sucked it up. Gr8 jacket though! Cheers from Oz.

Style AND practicality!
Being a sport bike rider, I've always been geared towards riding with alot of sport orientated gear. Once I accepted a job where I must wear clothing that has minimal logos and is casual, I started looking beyond the typical jackets in the market. For $200 this jacket looks like a classic 70's denim jacket, and gives an incredibly soft and comfortable fit that anyone will enjoy riding with AND walking around in the office with.

Style wise I love the little hints that its more than a regular old denim jacket. Beautiful snap buttons and the oh so sturdy front zipper give the impression of a very well made and high quality jacket. The leather collar and its suede like material on the inside give a great comfort to the neck as well. The gold satin like inner liner is beautiful, and gives a great color offset to the dark rich blue on the outside.

Fit wise, its right on the money. Ive worn Large all my life, and this large fits on the spot. Im 5'11", 200lbs, chest size 44. has more than enough room for a good hoodie to layer up, but still somehow gives a fitted look when zipped up.

Protection wise, you should know what this is. Its not kevlar lined, so if you roll with no armor, you might want to consider how much you ride and where, since its a big step down from most jackets that come with armor or that come with ballistic nylon/leather. I found my Icon Viper back protector to be a little big for the spine pocket, so I went ahead and trimmed it to size. Normal D30 shoulder and elbow pads seemed to fit perfectly, so no trimming required on those

All in all, it breathes well enough for a good 80-90 degree weather, just dont sit in the sun with it for too long. Any colder, and just add a layer and youll be fine. I have not tested this in the rain, so I cannot say for certain whether the dye will run like other roland sands jackets.

All in all, great non-rain jacket. Looks good and feels good, on or off the bike. And for the price, you cant beat it

Solid spring/summer jacket
I hummed and hawed forever to choose between the RSD Bronson or Ramone. I tried on both and ultimately went with the Bronson. I'm 5'10, 42 inch chest and athletic build and a Lg fits bang on with room to spare for a hoodie and what not. I love the breathability of it with the option to add armour to it (which I did).
You get the badass RSD features and style with a jacket you can wear on and off the bike. Now go gitter dun!

I have a 46" chest that means I should go with the XL right?
Alain S on Sep 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: be careful the sleeves also go up in size, I am average in build with a slightly larger than average 46" chest, 6ft tall, and had to shorten the sleeves on an XL by an inch and a half, should have ordered an L and squeezed into it (the XL has plenty of room all round). Gr8 jacket though, very happy.
Will this jacket breathe more than the waxed canvas styles from RSD?
Michael C on Feb 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: If by 'breath' you mean greater airflow through the jacket material, then yes. The Bronson is definitely more breathable. I have both the Truman and the Ronin Reserve (and the Bronson - obviously I'm into RS jackets). These waxed jackets are not only stiffer, but limit airflow. And so they are great for cooler days. The Bronson is basically a classic denim jacket. Has a softer cotton feel, unlike the more leather-like feel of a waxed jacket. And the simple cotton material definitely will breath more than the waxed material.

Also, the waxed jackets have a stiffer, more streamlined and closer fit. The Bronson has a more loose, somewhat more comfortable fit. But I do find myself wearing the Ronin and Truman a lot more often.
If I'm between a medium and a large, which way should I go?
