Marryl got back
As a tall woman with wiiiiide hips and a proportionally small waist I've had a helluva time finding riding pants that fit - usually, if I can get them over my hips they're far too big around the waist. After lots of research and talking to other big-butted woman riders I decided to focus on Rev'it's, thanks to their reputation for understanding that a) women ride too - b) they have different bodies than men - and c) they want to protect those bodies just like men do. I tried the textile Tornado pants as well as these Marryl Evo's and the Evo's were the only ones that passed the squat test (which is: Can you squat in them? Can you squat in them without hitching up the pants to clear your hips because the crotch is dropped, maybe because the waist is larger than it should be (see big-hip-fit issue, above)? Can you squat without worrying that they're about to split up the seams? Can you squat in them and still maintain blood flow throughout all extremities? If so, chances are you'll be able to throw your leg over your bike and ride for hours in relative comfort).

What I love about them:
Stretch panels between the legs (helps to pass the squat test!)
Hip protection (gotta protect my assets)
Over-boot cut
Adjustable, solid knee guards
"Long" option
Strong stitching & quality hardware
Red hair and black leather, my favorite color scheme...

What I'm putting up with:
No back pockets, front pocket is a joke
It's been 90 degrees the last few days and they are HOT
Longer zipper up the legs would make booting up/taking everything off much easier
Rear leather is a little slippery on my seat
I wear a 42 Long, if I eat any more icecream I'll have to stoop down to a 44 Regular because 42 is the largest size they make in Long. Why? Tall girls like icecream too.

Overall verdict: Considering how many utter failures I've tried on and nearly bought in desperation, these are pretty much as good as it gets - which is to say, pretty great.

Beautiful Boot-cut Leather
These are over the boot -- not in the boot as in the photo. Extremely nice thick soft leather with super comfortable armor. Really liked these -- ordered size 44 -- too large. I believe a size 40 would work -- 5' 5" 29w 38h -- the 44's were 3-4" too big everywhere. I would feel so safe in these. I thought I would give the gear2 a try-on before I decide since warmer weather is upon us. Also, I already own the Alpinestars Vika leather pants -- the Marryl is similar to the Vika---only the Marryl is on steroids.

Nice pants with great protection
I had to return my pants because it was just too big. I bought it hoping that maybe I could make size 38 work, even though I'm actually a size 36 (size 36 is no longer available on Revzilla). I really like that it has the proper hip and knee protection. The build quality seems really nice and looks good, but alas it's not the right size.
For reference, I am 5' 3'', 120lbs and size 36 fits me.

good quality and pretty
Great quality, looks beautiful in person, but their smallest size, 38, is about 2 sizes too large if you're 5'3" and 107 lbs. had to return sadly :(

1. The description says these have 'boot-cut' trousers, but the picture makes them look tapered in, as though you can tuck them into say, a pair of daytona boots. Are they 'boot-cut' like the Gear 2 pants are boot-cut?

2. On the front, the textile and leather arrangement on the Marryl Evo and the Gear 2 pants look similar (except for more leather near the shins on the former). How do they differ? In the cut? If so, how?

3. The back of the older Marryl 2 looks very similar to the Gear 2 pants, with even the boot-cuts. How do they differ?

4. How does the new Marryl Evo differ in shape from the older Marryl 2, aside from perhaps the lack of pockets in the newer model?
Elle S on Aug 13, 2015
BEST ANSWER: They're definitely bootcut, I can't imagine any boots that you'd want to tuck them into.
Will these keep me warm enough during winter riding?
A C on Dec 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I tend to wear long johns or a thin pant under them and they have been warm through mid-November - I haven't ridden in December yet, but I think they will be fine for a short ride. I live in the Northeast so temps have been low 40's.
