Developed to navigate the harshest terrain in the most demanding riding conditions, the Olympia X Moto Jacket utilizes Olympia’s clever 3 layer system to accommodate changing weather and conditions. As tough and functional as they come, the Olympia X Moto 2 Jacket is hardcore ADV-ready to tackle your next adventure.

Layer One - consists of a rugged 500D and 2000D Cordura shell that is equipped with Olympia’s exclusive Mega Vent Panel System. Awesome jacket, but collar stiffness is pushing my helmet forward.
In all but one issue this jacket is a dream come true. I just rode tonight in 21 F degree weather with only a t-shirt and long sleeve flannel underneath and was toasty warm. This jacket fits me perfectly. I've had it for a little over a month now and totally love it. The problem I'm having is the collar stands up so stiff that it is hitting the underside of my helmet (on the back side) and causing it to roll forward slightly, which is after long rides giving me a headache. The only way to counter this is to sit up as straight as possible, but only gives temporary relief because I tend to slouch. I still have yet to wash the jacket. The jacket is a bit stiff still since I've only used it a couple times, but I'm hoping that with time the collar will soften. My current helmet is made by Fly Racing and I ride a Triumph Tiger 800XCA.

3+ Season - love it!
Just rode ~ 2000 Mi in this jacket to Big Bend NP. Weather ranged from low 50s with rain for two days then five days of sunny weather reaching into the low 90s. Never needed the thermal liner, although I packed it. The rain jacket was great for the rain, and for everyday wear in the evenings. When worn the added collar did become stiff and push the helmet forward slightly, but not too bothersome. When it got hot I zipped down the panels to reveal the mesh and was very comfortable. I would not call this a 4 season jacket though - not for me, not in Texas. For anything past the 90s I will wear my full mesh jacket. But this is absolutely the most comfortable and versatile jacket I have ever owned or seen. The water bladder feature is nice, and it could come in handy as you can zip it off and wear it alone. The built in pouch areas where the panels fold into are great for sticking maps and goodies. All in all this is a great, versatile jacket and the one I will wear during this summer's trip up the Continental Divide Trail.

My only minor complaint is not really about the jacket itself, but the lack of a lighter color option. I do love the pewter for the most part, but would like a lighter shade.

Very happy with my purchase
I bought this jacket for riding in the NE region. I put 300 miles on it and I couldn't be happier.

Fit: I'm 270 5,11 and this jacket fits perfectly in the XXXL size. The 4XL was too big for me. I ordered both and returned the 4XL after trying it.

Ventilation: I rode on 95 degrees with all the vents open and it has great air flow on the highway and on streets over 30 mph.
Below 70 I closed the vents and it was great. Didn't need to use the liner or rain shell yet, but they look like they will do great.

Protection: Seems very solid, with elbow, shoulder and back CE rated protection.

Features: I love that you can use it with the liner for colder days, separate rain layer that can be used on top of the jacket and the ventilation that it has for hotter days.
The hydration pack is much better than a camelback, since it can be used as a stand alone back pack or you can zip it to the jacket and does not transmit weight to your shoulders.
I got the Hi Viz version and I really like it.

Durability: Can't say anything negative since I just bought it however it looks like it will last a long time, built to high quality standards.

I only wish that you could use the liner as a light jacket by itself (it has no zipper to close it) and it could be an added feature.

Overall I'm very happy with my purchase.

Heavy duty
Heavy is not a euphemism. This bad boy has some weight to it. Very warm and definitely feels like a 3 season jacket. The mega, super duper, awesome sauce, bongo air vents that they talk about in the video review give some good airflow, but the jacket is still very warm. Bullet proof, but warm.

That being said, I love it. I don't wear the water pouch when I'm riding, but it might come in handy when I quit my job and lead a tribe of Ubangi tribesman across the Sahara desert in search of the elusive K1600B.

Sizing is big. I shop at the fat guy store usually and this jacket fit me at the top end of the size chart. 6'3" with a 54 inch waist.

Great Jacket!
This jacket was super nice out of the box. Love that I can ride it with the thermal liner in during cool mornings, and with the vents open in 90 degree afternoons. Comfort is pretty good except the rain jacket collar is really thick. Not an issue since I wear mine over the jacket (which works really great), but if you wanted to wear it zipped in it can make head movement a little stiff. Haven't had a chance to wear in the rain, but did have the wife spray me with a garden hose and stayed perfectly dry. Would definitely recommend anyone looking for an all year jacket where the weather can be unpredictable.

Great in all weather
When it's cold out, this jacket's warm. When it's hot, open all the panels and you get a refreshing breeze right up into your pits. The shoulder and elbow armor sometimes gets a bit twisted and takes a moment of adjusting, but once I'm riding I never notice it. I just wish it came with hard spine protection, but it's easy enough to swap that in.

Just what I was looking for...
I recently purchased a new-to-me-bike after being without one for about 10 years. I ride in all weather and wanted gear that could handle as much as I can. This jacket fit's the bill.

I love the warmth of this jacket in cooler weather. I've ridden to work in temps down below freezing and have have no issues staying warm with the jacket.

I love how all the pieces can be interconnected in multiple ways. Today, I rode to work with the thermal attached directly to the main shell and was plenty warm enough. No need to install the rain shell.

I've also ridden in warmer temps on a warm bike (Gen 1 FJR) and had plenty of air movement with all the Mega-Vents opened and was comfortable. I can see how it may get too hot in the dead of summer with temps above 90, but I temp not to ride in those conditions much.

I also love all the storage pockets throughout this jacket. There's a place for everything, not to mention the included water bladder which I have yet to use.

I opted for the High-Viz colors for the added visibility and love that others around me should see me that much better.

If I have any complaints, it's that the internal armor moves around too easily. When trying to put the jacket on, I've had the shoulder pads completely flip upside down inside their pockets. The price is a bit high, but since this is my only jacket, the fact that it'll work in all seasons help justify it a little.

Overall this is just the jacket I was looking for. Plenty of protection for day-to-day riding, with options for all weather types.

Hanging it Up-Retirement
My Olympia X Moto jacket was purchased in 2012. It witnessed 46,000 miles of touring so it was well used. The outer shell shows little sign of wear except for the arm straps that have become frayed which doesn't affect my opinion since they were simply an ornament. One thing that I never used was the water pack because it increased the weight of the jacket making it feel like one was wearing a pack. That is why it was replaced with an Olympia Expedition jacket this week. The inside liner of the outer shell and waterproof insert was becoming a little threadbare but still useable. In temperatures above 95 degrees Fahrenheit even with all the vents open it was uncomfortable so planning around those kind of temperatures was wise. With all three layers on one could ride in 40 degree weather without needing a heated vest. Would recommend this jacket to anyone looking for a 4 season jacket. Olympia's quality and price make it an outstanding value.

Superior cobbled together quality
This 3 different layers zipped into one main jacket, not a 3-layer jacket. Thermal layer (innermost layer) can't attach to the outer shell, so if it's cold but dry, you need all three layers. All layers hook together with dual zippers into the next-outer shell with velcro/elastic hook system on the cuffs. This velcro/elastic cuff system means you get an slinky effect when you put on or take off your jacket, and have to kind of dig your hands out when donning the jacket.
Rain liner zips into outer shell with two zippers that are about 70% the height of the liner, leaving you with an inch or two of material you have to fish out and adjust everytime you put on the jacket. In addition, the 9-month rain liner has a zipper up the middle, with two flaps held together by heavy duty velcro. Which means that 9 months of the year you have two zipper and heavy duty velcro everytime you put on or take off this jacket.
With the full mesh option and very thin outer shell, this makes the inner rain liner almost mandatory 9 months out of the year.
Construction and materials were great
Fit was very great, Olympia sizing guide on RevZilla was spot on
Armor felt good and sat where it should while jacket was on
I was trying this jacket on in 70F weather, and got a little sticky, but the fancy quasi-mesh slid on and off really easily, as advertised.
I paid for faster shipping to get this before a 4500 mile trip, and was met with frustration.

Arrgghh, the hydration pack!
This is my second Olympia jacket and they are the value leader, no doubt. The MotoX fully lives up to my expectations except for one small problem; the hydration bladder. Fill it with water, take a sip and yuck. Tastes like you’re drinking from a vinyl child’s swimming pool. A replacement bladder and sip hose from Camelback solved the problem.

The four season capability of the X Moto 2 was the deciding factor for me. I ride in weather that ranges from the high 30's to the 110's throughout the year, and have very large morning/evening fluctuations (low 50's to ~110). The ability to open the large vents in the heat is a huge plus for this jacket.

Good venting should provide for use over a wide temperature range. Water proof liner can be worn over outside of jacket when needed. Like the good assortment of pockets, straps for fine tuning fit, comfortable looking collar. Good reviews. Appears to be good quality for a reasonable price.

Can the matching X Moto 2 pants be worn inside your boots or are they only over the boot?
A shopper on Oct 30, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Could probably get them to fit but itd be a squeeze. Theyll fit over anything though
Does the thermal liner have it's own zipper, separate from the one that attaches it to the jacket, so it can be worn stand alone?
A shopper on Feb 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I've worn the rain jacket layer on it's own completely separate from the thermal layer and separate from the main shell. It can be zipped up and closed completely on it's own. I don't ride like this as there's no armor or other protection, but when traveling, it's a nice option when away from the bike.

You can also zip the thermal layer inside the rain layer and use them together as a heavier rain jacket (still without the main shell). I usually leave the thermal and rain zipped together and stored in my saddle bag for use as needed.
