Too long!
The pants are well made with lots of features as noted on the website. Good air flow and the light color, I got white and gray, definitely reflects sunlight rather than absorb like black. Pay attention to the video where they say the pant legs are such that they can be shortened. That’s code for they’re long. I’m gonna get them shortened a couple of inches after it cools off a bit.

Pants are good but can be made better
First is the waist is small, if you want to wear these as overpants, order up. I wear a 34 or 35 waist in jeans and I ordered the 36 and they are tight.

If you want to hem the bottom, there is only 2" that can be removed and that starts 2" up from the bottom. If you cut off the bottom, then you lose the ability to tighten the pants around your boots.

The velcro at the bottom pulled out after 5 times wearing. I had to sew it back on. I expect better quality from Olympia.

The legs do flow air nicely. Unfortunately the crotch area does not. I am on a full fairing bike and these pants give me monkey butt in the hot humid weather in the south. The crotch is hotter than a pair of jeans. So when I wear these when its hot, they have to be washed after the ride. No way I can wear these on a multi day trip. If your bike does not have a fairing, you probably will not have this issue.

The pants are loose around the knee so I wonder if the armor will stay in place if I have an accident.

Rain linear is nice.

Way way more comfortable than imagined
Purchased these in anticipation of a cross country trip. Had my tailor adjust the legs to a shorter inseam, and added SAS level2 hip and knee pads.

Just returned from 32 days and 9500 miles essentially coast to coast, temps up to 99 and as low as 48.

Ok, when temps go over 95, nothing is comfortable. But these are more comfortable than Levi’s or blue jeans in general. Also more comfortable than shorts, as they shade your legs.

Air flow is great. Drying time is minimal, should you get wet.

Fit is outstanding ( I’m 5’ 9”, 29” inseam, 35 1/2” waist, 190 lbs)

I wore these every day. Sometimes with shorts under, once with light trousers under, and often with only undies under.

Pockets for knee armor have ample adjustment to get it right.

Zippers and snaps work well ( I really like leg zippers up to hip)

Did not rate durability as I have had these for only 7 weeks. Just washed them ( lots of road dirt / film) and they again look “as new”

Planning on a airglide5 jacket purchase now.

Nice Pants, Baggy Fit
Olympia makes great quality stuff with nice features, but I was looking for something with a more slim and trim cut. These definitely have the baggy look. Positives in these pants: knee armor is very comfortable, not abrasive; fit is pretty true, maybe a little large; lots of mesh. Negatives: the double snap closure and no waist adjustment - if they're snug at all, you need a belt to keep them closed, and if they're loose, you still need a belt; IMO the liner is a waste - not really solid rain pants, and I never want a liner with mesh pants (but if you're a three-season rider and can only have one pair of pants, the liner probably works).

Sizing: I wear 36" jeans, a little loose; 36 in these pants is a little looser without the liner, but I probably couldn't go down to 34.

Comfortable but too loose fitting
I'm 6'4" with a 34" inseam. I usually wear a 38/34 jean. I ordered the size 40. The good: great airflow, well made and quality materials, the full length zipper makes them a breeze to get on and off and the two liners.

The bad: The legs are so loose to where the armor shifts around so not sure they will be in the right place if I go down. The length is fine while I'm standing but when on the bike the legs rise up above my 3/4 boot. If you wear a full length boot this may not be an issue.

Knees for long legs
had to send these back. the knee pad placement is about 2 inches too low. I have 30 inch inseam. I own a pair of Olympia Ranger pants a they fit well, not sure what happened when they designed these. Tried the Newport pants and they are the same way.

Overall okay summer pant, but could be made excellent with a few modifications
I wear a size 33 pant, and understanding that there is a bit of flex in the waist I ordered the 32. Because there are two buttons at the waist and not a clip or clasp style fastener (think heavy duty men’s dress pant clasp) as soon as I sat down the pants came unbuttoned - not good! So I returned them for a 34, which I learned I could pull straight off of me with a slight tug (they didn’t come unbuttoned either) - again, not good. Another return and I decided to retry the 32s. If Olympia would use a clip style fastener instead of two buttons they would be perfect. Now after 1500 miles the waist elastic has stretched out enough that they’re comfortable and I no longer have to wear a belt to keep them from unbuttoning.

The knee pads are okay, they have several placement locations to get the location just right. However, in my case I need them to be halfway between two locations. Olympia could have solved this by making the pocket solid velcro on both sides, allowing for infinite left/right and top/down adjustment. So, they’re marginally okay. I replaced the knee armor with Klim armor, and moved the Olympia knee armor to the hips to replace the pathetically cheap hip pad they came with.

They flow air well, are easy to get on and off, and I believe they’ll do as good a job in a crash as you’d expect from mesh gear. They suit my commuter needs well.

If Olympia is reading this - make the airglide 5 pants clasp at the waist so it doesn’t unbutton, make the knee armor pockets solid pieces of Velcro in the pocket. You’ll then have a decent product worthy of the price you’re commanding for these airglide pants.

Great pants so far
Just got these a few weeks ago, and have only ridden for about 80 miles so far, in temps from about 40 up to about 65 degrees. In those temps they are great. They have tons of ventilation, but the rain pants worn inside cut the wind when you want to. Have not had a chance to test in rain or high temperatures yet, but not concerned at all. They zipped up to my 4 y.o. Olympia Airglide 3 jacket just fine. The pewter color on the pants is a bit darker than on my jacket, probably because my jacket has faded, but they look great together.

Love these pants
Really well built. I have a 38 waist and large thighs. I went for the xl and there is plenty of room over regular pants. I usually wear work pants which are fine underneath, and protective enough for shorts underneath when it is warm outside.

Great so far - but Hemming not as easy as advertised
Just received these pants and think I'm really going to like them. Seem to be very well made with many thoughtful features. The hip "pads" are basically worthless and will need to be replaced but all the other materials are top notch.

According to Olympia the "easy hem" system should allow for a simple process by a seamstress or tailor ($25- $40). I took mine to 4 places before anyone would agree to hem them for $40, the highest quote I got was $80. I think that for $40 it's worth having them hemmed but really wish Olympia supported multiple lengths from the factory.
