Olympia Airglide 4 Over Pants

Quite possibly one of the most versatile and rider friendly pants on the market, the Olympia Airglide 4 Pants are the latest design iteration of a pant that has been a staple of multi-season riding for years. With a tough 500 denier Cordura and Ballistic Airflow mesh, the Airglide 4 Pants can be worn by themselves or over your regular pants depending on your application. The removable waterproof rain liner can also be worn zipped into the interior, over top or by itself to allow complete versatility of a pant that already sets a high bar for utilitarianism. Full leg zips on both layers allow for easy on and off with or without boots on and the adjustable CE rated knee armor ensures you are properly protected.

  • Outer shell constructed in 500 denier Cordura fabric with Ballistic Airflow mesh panels
  • Waterproof over or under rain pant
  • Full side leg zippers extend to waistband
  • Removable and adjustable height CE Motion Flex armor at knees

Not really on over pant
To start out with, I contacted Revzila customer service to inquire as to if this could be used as an over pant. Their response was absolutely, oder your normal size waist measurement and it will work just fine. No, not accurate.
I ordered my size and it is a very tight fit over street pants. I would've sent them back for a larger waist size but that would've put the length too long to hem without getting into the zipper. Which brings me to my next point. With the rain liner in and your footwear on they are a bit difficult to put on. Yes they have a nice long zipper, but don't forget if you leave the rain liner in, it's not easy to get the pant on and off.
Havnt hit the wet stuff yet so I don't know how waterproof they are.
Even though it is not advertised to keep ya warm, it did a very good job. Provided you had enough room to slip a pair of thermals under your street pants I bet they would get you through some pretty cold rides. With the rain liner still in of course.
If you can, spring for a next level waterproof over pant. I don't, so I will have to get skinnier or live with them being a bit tight.
Revzila makes it a point that Olympia pants have a special portion of hemability . Well if you look at the pant, there is a tab that you pull to tighten the fit. You'll have to have that re positioned by the seamstress or loose it. As well as losing a little or a lot of the other velcro closer at the bottom. Just a little something not mentioned in the review.

Great riding pants for mild to warm temperatures.
This is my second pair of riding pants, I needed a new set because my Sedici pants were just too hot even with the liners out. Olympia Airglide 4 provides plenty of mesh for those hot days. I can wear them as over-pants or, not to be too personal, I have worn them with just some Powercool Boxer Briefs and it is nice to feel the air in the high 80s and low 90s temps. Pretty good investment in my opinion.

Initial Impression - Wow!
Fit -- Spot on. I wear a 32/32 in jeans. I ordered the size 32 and they were a great fit. The waterproof "liner" fits well under and over the pants. Once I had the pants on with my boots, I had no trouble putting on the liner over my boots and pants (I wore a pair of gym shorts under the pants). The liner went on easily despite having no zipper on the legs. The legs are extra wide with velcro strips to make them more narrow and not flap in the wind. There are adjusters on each side of the waist of the liner so you can get the liner to fit just right.

Comfort -- My first ride (3 hours mostly on small gravel roads) with these pants (without rain liner) was on my 2003 BMW Dakar. It was a sunny day about 75 degrees. I bought these to remain as cool as possible on hot summer days. Let me say that the air flow is unbelievably good (just gym shorts underneath)! In fact on a 75 degree day going 50-60 miles/hour, at times my legs were a bit chilly.

Design -- The pants look good enough so that you'll feel good about wearing them into a store or restaurant. The front pockets are roomy enough to keep the usual things like a wallet, keys, cell phone, etc. The back pockets are a bit shallow. But maybe that's so you don't wind up sitting on the contents in them. The full length zippers worked well. I have a 2 year old Olympia jacket that zips perfectly to the pants.

Protection -- The material seems durable and tough...only one way to find out, and I don't want to find out. The knee protectors are CE approved and comfortable. The hip protectors are foam. I plan on replacing them.

I can't wait to try them in the rain.

Stay protected and comfortable.
I wear my AG4 pants to commute and cruise around town. I also wore them through the MSF course. I have not had many hours riding with the AG4 pants but they have lived up and surpassed my expectations. The rain liner is a welcome feature and negates the need to buy a separate rain suit. There is not thermo liner like that on the AG5 jacket but as an overpants you will be covered when wearing your favorite jeans. I have not used the rain liner yet but I know that will change shortly in the near future.

The styling is pretty nice and certainly represents the sport bike motif. I'm not one to care about what others think so I personally have no problem rocking only this and a pair of lightweight shorts underneath. The fit off the bike is very comfortable and super airy in a nice breeze. The 3M piping gets a knock from me in the style department. Even though the reflective stripe is a safety feature it could have better integration in aesthetic appeal similar to the AG5 jacket. I am 186lbs standing 6'3" with a 34" waist line and 34" inseam. I went with the AG4 36" pants with the 35" inseam to give me comfort as an overpants and they still fit my 34" waist with a belt. With the ability to zipper the AG5 jacket to the AG4 pants just completes the look.

Protect is great and with Cordura in all the right places you will not be left out to dry. There hip protector pockets already filled with foam and the foam can be replaced with CE rated protection of your choice. The knee armor is CE rated and fits well when placed in the proper slot for your body frame in the riding position. I don't even notice the armor when walking around and that is while wearing my Alpinestars Ridge Air boots. The fact that you can zip the AG4 pants to the AG5 jacket cannot be understated. I wear a belt with these pants and I employ the zipper to ensure that the AG5 jacket will not ride up in a slide.

First Pair of mesh pants and I'm impressed
Normally, I wear leather chaps and jeans when riding. They serve the purpose, However it also means I don't ride as much during Utahs' Summer months. These are awesome, they flow lots of air. Even on my GoldWing, I get enough air to feel comfortable and not overheat. The shipping speed was awesome. The sizing was a little weird, I normally wear a 36 jean. I planed on using then as a overpant, so I ended up ordering a 40 to make sure they would fit correctly. It was a good choice. They are a tad bit loose, but they have belt loops and they zip to my Fly Coolmesh jacket.

Airglide 4 Pants get a big YES from me
I replaced a cheap off-brand pair of vented pants with the AG4's and i only wish i had done it sooner. I wear them primarily as over-pants for my commute to work, (i ride at least 150 days a year) The full-length side zippers are very helpful for getting them on and off without contorting myself into leg-cramping, balance-challenging, awkward positions. All of the adjustments to fit them to my body make them very comfortable to ride in. The inclusion of the over/under rain pant will extend my use of them a lot farther into the fall before i break out my cold weather gear. They are so well built that I expect to get years of riding in them.

purchased olympia air glide pant and then immediately headed out for a 1500mi week long ride through the midwest. out of the box the pants fit perfectly. i normally wear a 33x32 and bought the 34. pants fit very nicely with not feeling baggy and looked decent on. full length zip and adjustable bottoms to the legs made the fit great. air flow was good. would recommend anybody looking for a vented pant to purchase these

great features but...
I got these a couple weeks ago and have used them every ride since. These are quality pants, more than you would expect for the price point. Something to point out, if you order your waist size, the outer layer will go over your regular street pants without too much of a hassle. However, once you put on the inner (wind/waterproof) layer, be prepared for the process to become time-consuming. The inner layer does not stretch to the same size as the outer layer so getting them over your street pants can be quite difficult. These are advertised as being able to wear the waterproof layer inside or outside the main pants, but I don't know how well these would fit on the outside if you tried it that way (if at all#.
As for the bottom of the pants, if you needed to hem them you would be losing a lot of the "velcro" that holds them together and there really isn't a way to add more.
The zipper goes from the top of a boot all the way to the hip so getting them on #without the liner# is very quick and easy. I had to adjust the knee pads and was very happy that I could.
One other feature I haven't used is the ability to zip these to the Airglide 4 jacket if you get the two together. If I wanted a complete suit then that's what I would have bought so I don't see any reason to use this, but it's there.
Overall very happy with these.

Fits and looks good
First, is fit. I'm a 36 waist, 32 inseam. I ordered the 36 and the fit is good. I wear them over my slacks when commuting to work.
I don't have a belly. If you do, you should go to a size higher if you are using as over pants.
I'm 6 foot tall, 200 lbs. ????
Airflow is decent. My legs never get hot or cold wearing these pants. I went with the gray material instead of the black. Black tends to obsorbe more heat. Black would be counterintuitive to the function of the pants, black would look good too.
I like the look of the gray.
Well worth the money. I also have black First Gear over pants for fall and winter riding, but no venting.
I went down on low side and slid twenty feet on to a gravel shoulder. I was wearing jeans. I still trashed my knees and legs above the boots.
My cotton and polyester slacks might last two feet of the initial slide, the rest of the material comes out of your hide.
Even wearing my padded jacket I still fractured three ribs. I can't overstate the importance of good riding gear. Olympia is made in the USA. I support that.

Great pants
I compared these to the Alplinestars Oxygen air over pants. These are slightly more expensive, but have much higher build quality. In comparison, they have more features and fit better as an over pant. I wear a 32x32 pant and the 32 size was too tight as an over pant. If I didn't wear jeans under it, it fit fine. So despite what the video review says, I'd go a size up if you plan to wear jeans underneath.

Have wanted a pair of summer/warm weather ventilated overpants for quite awhile...majority of other brands were not true overpants and required removing boots to don/remove. I wear cargo shorts & construction boots in hot weather and these pants will allow me to quickly gear up for errands on the motorcycle...the full-length leg zippers should do the trick.

How do these compare to the MotoQuest pants in regards to the airflow?
A shopper on Aug 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The Airglide have much more mesh, maybe as much as double the amount. The airflow is great. On cold mornings or days, I can put the rain/wind liner over until the temps rise. For me, these are 4 season pants.
Which CE rated armor fits in the hip pockets?
Zachary N on Oct 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Your choice. The pocket is pretty big.
Will these work with the Airglide 3 jackets?
Thomsa M on Sep 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I don't own the 3 jacket, but from what I understand the zipper is the same as the 4 so they should.
Does the Olympia Airglide 4 rain liner have full sippers up the side of them to allow for easier access. According to Revsilla's description both layers do? What I've read so far they do not. Please clarify.
A shopper on Aug 20, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The main pant has zippers full length. The rain/wind pant doesn't. It is very generous in the circumference from the knee down, with Velcro there to fold it over and hold it tight. You can wear the liner on the inside or on the outside of the main pant. I am finishing up a vacation from Tampa FL to Homer AK for the last 6 weeks. The liners for both the jacket and pants have been on and off, inside and outside, for the last 4 was since coming into Canada. Used for warmth and rain. I also have the Airglide 3 pants, and the 4's are just so much better with the capability of being able to wear it on the outside (not having to take off the pants to get the liner in and out). I wear the liner on the inside for when it's cold, or if it's going to rain all day, and on the outside for the cold mornings when I'll take it off by 10 or 11, and for those rain off and on days. They can be taken off/put on on the side of the road.
Hope this helps
Will the zipper that connects these pants with a jacket, work with the Olympia Airglide 4 Jacket?
Sam S on May 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, they are designed to work together. The only problem is you'll have to have someone else zip it up in the back, I've not been able to get it myself and doing it first makes getting them on very difficult to say the least. Riding with them connected pulls the collar tight on my neck, but it might not for you. Have fun and stay safe!
I have a 33" waist so would it be best to go with the size 32, or move up to the 34?
A C on Jul 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Myself I would move up the the 34. However, it will depend on how you plan on wearing them. 1. By themselves I would go no smaller than your current waist size. If they don't make it move up.

2. As overgear, I would go at least one size up. I wear a 35 and ordered a 40 it works but the 38 would have been better. The pants do have belt loops and an 8" zipper, I zip them to me Fly Coolmesh jacket. The zipper seems to be a standard size.

Hope this helps your milage may vary. :)
Looking at the size chart for these Airglide 4 pants , a 34 waist has a 34"inseam. While I have that waist size my inseam is 30". What can be done for guys with shorter legs?
Paul G on Jul 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: These pants have about five inches of length that can be hemmed at the bottom before you get to the zippers. I also have a thirty inseam, but once I allowed for sitting and having enough coverage so there was no gap above my boots I just left them at full length.
How well does the waterproof liner fit on the outside of the pants?
A shopper on Jun 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I've found that it is a very tight fit but it is possible to get the liner over the outside of the pants. The problem is that the liner does not unzip/unbutton/unflap or anything like that at the top and it is tighter than the pants (as it is designed to be worn on the inside). Some days I just can't get it over the pants, others I can, just depends for me.
These are great pants for the money. I've not found any that are more versatile than these.
Will the legs fit over a pair of ADV boots like the Alpinestar Corozal?
Jim M on Dec 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have the TCX EVO boots for riding. The pants fit over them with plenty of room to spare. I use the velcro adjuster to tighten the fit after I put on my boots. Hope that helps.
I have the AG3 silver but too large so I'm getting the AG4. The pictures of the pewter look like its almost black & dark grey but the video here looks silver like my AG3?? I does it match the pewter/silver AG4 jacket (I have it)?

BEST ANSWER: You can buy it in either the black or pewter color option. I purchased the black pants and its definately black in color. The video looks like the live model is wearing the pewter color with the video occasionally showing a static photo of the one in black. I have never seen the pewter color in person so can't vouch for how it looks exactly. Not sure if it will match your current jacket or not. Overall I like the pant design and durability / comfort while riding. Hope this helps!
