The worlds most expensive shirt
I am really happy with my Forcefield shirt. It does indeed take some careful work to put in on and some time. It is also a little warm, so you want to make sure you are ready to head out the door as soon as you put it on. But it is great having armor under ANYTHING you want to wear. One ride I had to start in my leather jacket (no armor in it) and end the day with only my neon bicycling vest on over the Forcefield. I have only a 35 in chest for my 6'1" frame, but I took a chance on the extra small and glad I did. Yes it is tight to put on, but the armor never moves. It is long enough in length and sleeve for me (normal 33 in sleeve) If you don't like tight, spandex like clothing, this is not for you.

Solid product and I am glad I bought it but the zipper is not very strong.
Overall, I like it. It fits well and has high quality armour. The shirt holds the armour in place and the shirt wicks away sweat and helps cooling. It fits under my jacket without any trouble. It is reasonably comfortable but it is armour. It does not feel like a t-shirt. The major concern with the product is the low quality zipper. I am afraid it will not last as long as it should. It is difficult to zip without putting a lot of strain on the zipper. In addition, you have to be careful putting it on and taking it off so you do not tear the shirt. However, I still like the product and would buy it again. I drive in all conditions and all seasons. I wear the shirt all the time. It takes a bit getting use to but it is worth the protection.

overall a great jacket
I saw there were only a few reviews on this jacket, so here is mine.

I am 5 9, 180 pounds. The M size fits me pretty well. I bought this jacket together with the pants. But I like the jacket better. The major reason I bought it is because I thought I might want to wear my own clothes over this jacket and it worked pretty good for that purpose. I do not have to shop around for another expensive motorcycle jacket(s). One day if I am tired of wearing the same jacket I will need to buy another one. Especially the leather jacket, they are expensive and you will get so f-ing bored wearing the same jacket every day. Not to mention different weather jackets. Also, if you wear your own clothes, you can probably maintain a low profile on the street or at working, which is quit important for me; I do not like to draw other people's attention when at working. I can simply wear whatever I want to wear. I think this jacket is designed for street bike, not sure whether the dirt bike can also use it or not, probably yes, but I am just not very positive.

Fantastic shirt, highly recommend it
SIZING:
I'm 5'9", 140 pounds, female. Forcefield do make a women's version of this shirt but I couldn't get one in my size for love nor money anywhere online, so ended up getting this men's one in a Size Small. No problem at all, it fits perfectly.

WHY DID I BUY IT:
* I didn't want to always be restricted to wearing a riding jacket.
* I wanted Forcefield armor because I've heard it's so good.
* I wanted something that wasn't bulky and allowed ease of movement
* For the protection it gives you I think it's a killer price.

QUALITY:
Zipper is good. They haven't scrimped on the size of any of the armor inserts, they're all generous without adding bulk. Fabric is awesome - breathable and easily washable. If this thing wears out I'll definitely replace it with the same thing, but I doubt it'll blow out in any way. It's a nicely constructed piece.

ARMOR:
Before this I've had two x armored jackets, one denim and one leather. The Forcefield Pro shirt has the best armor of the three by miles. It's the only one of them with chest armor as well. The spine pad goes right from the back of my neck all the way down to the waistband of my jeans.

FIT:
The shirt fits nice and snug, it hugs you and is totally comfortable, I forget I'm wearing it. The fabric is smooth and not itchy, all the armor sits in the right place so there's no tugging at the shoulders or elbows to get it to sit correctly.
Cool feature is the thumb holes, love that. It's a long shirt so it tucks right into the waistband of your pants/jeans, and doesn't come out even after I've done a couple of hours riding.

WHAT DO I WEAR IT WITH:
Definitely has given me WAAAY more options. Sometimes I've worn it with just a t-shirt overtop when it's been hot. I'll often just throw a hoodie on overtop. Either a t-shirt or a hoodie, it doesn't make you look bulky or an odd shape. If I'm going to a restaurant or something where I know I'll be inside and want to just wear a short sleeve or tank, I wear the Forcefield Pro overtop and then maybe my riding jacket with the armor removed over top of that.

Highly recommend this shirt.

Better Fitting, High-Level of Armored Protection
I purchased this after purchasing the Forcefield Sports Action Shorts to wear under riding jeans. I have always been concerned about armor not staying in place in riding jeans/pants during an off. The Forcefield Pro Shirt is the perfect solution to address this concern. This shirt basically could act as a replacement for armor in almost any riding jacket. I own a casual leather jacket that I wear around town in the cooler months that comes to mind. By adding this Forcefield Armored Shirt underneath, I am able to upgrade the armor and protection level to that found in my other riding jackets.

This is the perfect solution for riders who wear ATGATT, and can be used under casual riding gear around town or for added protection with your regular gear for more "spirited" riding. I wish I had found this product sooner, but I am glad that I have now, and look forward to using this new piece of gear in many upcoming adventures/tours.

Great but HOT
This makes me feel very protected and the armor is high quality and stays in place. I tried going for a ride in and it was around 75 F in southern texas around sundown and it was SUPER SWEATY. I only wore a thin hoodie over it. I rode out of town and over some wetlands where it dropped 20 degrees and felt much much better. i removed the chest plate and it felt 10X better.

This is a very stretchy material so get a size smaller. I am 6'4" and 230 lbs and the large was a little snug but kept the armor from moving.

Excellent one-stop solution
I love this, in one stroke I solved all my protection requests. I use this under my shirt and use a riding jacket on top of that, everything still closes snugly and the armor feels very well kept in place without chaffing or scraping.

Surprised at the fit - still breaking it in
I'm a big lad (254lbs/5ft 7) and was worried about the fit around the stomach and shoulders and after a little fiddling it zipped right up.

I think it will take a while to get used to the fit and feel. My only real concern at the moment are the shoulders as they ride quite high.

I'll update this review in a little while after I break them.

Tough Shirt
I do like the shirt, it fits well and is very comfortable. When I first got it I put it on and wore it all evening and pretty much forgot I had it on, so decided to keep it. Don't know about crashing but I can hit a door jam hard enough to shake the wall and barely feel it on my arm, this shirt is cool. At this time it seems to be the best available or it looked like the best to me. It is really cool, you can hit stuff amazingly hard, just hope I never need it. Revzilla Rocks!

The shirt is a great idea-you could theoretically wear a different jacket over it - this was one of my first purchases; I still use it under my gear, but my concern is - it's a men's small and although stretchy and able to position pads over hot spots, I'm always wary that if /when I hit pavement, that this is a little too movable and will slide out of position, not protecting me at all.
Overall I love the concept but in truth make sure it fits you properly before wearing it out on the road.

I am looking for a versatile base layer that will allow me to mix up my riding wardrobe. I am a street/commute rider who wants a low profile look when off the bike, without sacrificing protection. Investing in this ultimate protection item will hopefully allow me to wear inconspicuous top layers while maintaining a high level of protection. I also expect to use the Pro Shirt X-V when I graduate to track days (and perhaps even for other adventure sports).

I already own a nice leather jacket and this fit the bill to provide added protection. Fits good underneath without impairing flexibility of the jacket.

Researched for weeks. This looked high quality, good company. It was between this and the $359 protector. I was all set to get the $359 model, saved the money. I watched videos for both. I finally decided I liked the full material because it is getting so cold at night in the desert. This worked out because I planned to get the Dianese knee pads for $99, but they were sold out in my size.

Although I think I am smarter and wiser than to engage in very risky riding, I am taking no chances and decided to protect myself as well as I could. After extensive research, I found this to be highly recommended and looked like the protection I desire.

Are the elbow impact zones upgradable to a CE L2? It seems odd to me to only make the back CE2 and not the elbows as well.
james h on Aug 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes you can upgrade the elbow and shoulder armor to L2. Its a separate set that runs about $45 per set (about $90 for elbows and shoulders).
Is this for dirt bikes or street use as well?
Binyomin C on Nov 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I bought it for street use and returned it. Super bulky and stiff. I feel like the fabric wouldn't hold up well to mud and branches, probably better off with a hard shell for dirt.
Hi I was wondering if anyone uses the soft armour for enduro riding or would I be better off with a hard shell one cheers ?
A C on May 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I bought the Forcefield due to most of my riding is in the SoCal desert area. It is very comfortable and cool, almost to the point of feeling like I'm not protected enough, compared to the hard protectors I've worn. The shoulder and elbow pads stay in place while on trails or single tracking through the brush. My only concern has been how long the material will last being whacked with the bushes that hit it. To this point however, I have had no signs of wear at all, after washing the brush grease marks out. I made this purchase for dual sport riding with a large percentage being in the dirt. Very happy with it!
This is a general question. As I understand, the ce ratings are for impact resistance.
Is there a rating for puncture resistance?
Do any of these lightweight armored shirts or jackets with D30, sastec, forcefiield etc
provide any puncture [hitting a pointy stick] or abrasion resistance?
Do I need hard shell if I am concerned about this?.
A shopper on Jul 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The CE ratings all assume blunt force trauma as the primary cause (hitting hard flat surfaces) of the damage in their estimations. Sharp force trauma by its very nature voids the protection of most armor types due to the fact that it's focusing a lot of the destructive energy into a very small area with sharp jagged edges. Hardened crash protection may offer better protection than the soft armor when facing collision with sharp objects.

There is a system for determining abrasion resistance, that does not necessarily factor into the CE rating system as far as i know. I've not seen anything that explains how much abrasion resistance is factored in for tolerance per a level of CE protection. In some scenarios a high quality, high density leather shell will still outperform almost all synthetics in terms of surviving abrasion with minimal damage.

If your that concerned with collisions involving pointy objects you should probably give some serious thought to how you ride and consider changing it if your riding habits do involve pointy objects.
If I take out the chest protector, do you think it would fit a woman? Men's chest protectors obviously don't fit a woman's form!
A C on Jul 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I'm a woman, 5'9 and 140 pounds, I have the men's size small. Very comfortable, no problem at all. And I have large umm... y'know. I wear this thing to death and forget I have it on, I love it.
Could this be worn under a one-piece if I take the OEM armor and liner out of the one-piece?
Eugene A on Mar 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I don't have a one piece but I would think so as this fits like a second skin, tight to the body. As long as the one-piece is large enough to fit you with this on.
I was wondering if you can tell me a bit more about how the shirt behaves in hot weather? I'll be moving to Angola soon where the temperatures are between 25 and 32 Celsius.
A shopper on Oct 13, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Disclaimer: I have only worn this under a heavy Cordura suit that has Kevlar patches over critical areas. I rode that way in the summer over long distances. So long as I kept moving, adequate airflow kept me from over heating.

Without an outer layer, I think you will get adequate airflow in that temperature range. If it is stop & go at the upper end of that temperature range, not much to be done for that but sweat and this material seems light enough to afford some evaporative cooling (again I've only worn mine as an under-layer).

One drawback: the fabric material doesn't seem like it would hold up well to a fall at speed. That is why I wore it as an under-layer. Mileage may vary.

I hope that helps, feel free to ask more if I missed the point.

Good luck in Angola!
Would i be ok wearing this under an normal hoodie?
A C on Mar 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: If the hoodie is worn under leather. This is only padding for an impact you still need something for abrasion. Personally I only wear leather outer as nothing else compares for abrasion. This armored shirt is excellent under a leather jacket.
It looks hot. Is it hot to where?
A shopper on Oct 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The armor in this shirt does not breathe well since it just has a few air holes per pad, but the shirt itself is what you would expect of an athletic base layer and seems to wick moisture and dry pretty quickly. I race hare scrambles in this shirt and really love the comfort and flexibility vs an external hard armor setup.
I'm 230lb 6.1 what size should I buy?
A shopper on Oct 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I can't say for sure. All I can tell you is figure your size from chart and then order one smaller. I am 6'1 170# and went really small, Xsmall. The things stretch a lot and I like compression type clothing. The tighter you get it, the better you will feel about the armor staying in place if needed. Love mine.
