What's this?

Shark Evoline 3 ST Mezcal Helmet

The Shark Evoline 3 ST is a modular helmet that truly and safely transforms from a full face to an open face helmet in one easy upward motion. We have all seen people with modular helmets cruising around with the chin bar in the upright position. It is a natural desire to want more airflow on a hot summer day. Virtually every other modular helmet on the market is not engineered to absorb an impact with the chin bar in the open position however the Evoline 3 ST accomplishes just that. Evoline 3 ST owners can enjoy the comforts of an open face helmet around town then drop the chin bar for added protection before entering a highway. In addition to the inherent versatility, the Evoline 3 ST is packed with creature comforts like a CoolMax liner and a drop down internal sun shield.

Great for long distance riding, inner city commuting and anything in between, the Shark Evoline 3 ST offers riders an unrivaled level of comfort, protection and freedom.

Fit:

  • Round internal shape, comparatively less forehead room than other helmets but wider in the temples
  • Runs slightly small, sizing up 1cm is recommended (if you measure in at 59cm, choose size LG, if 60cm, go with an XL instead)

Improvements to the Series 3 include:

  • Easier manipulation of the chinbar thanks to the Auto-Up system. The unique motion of the Evoline remains unchanged and has become even more natural with the Series3.
  • The Auto-Up system has been simplified - chinbar and main shield are now united in a single movement.
  • Fabrics, finish and style. The interior of the Evoline Series 3 has been totally redesigned and is softer, better and more comfortable.
  • Brand new ventilation design fore and aft.
  • Overall lower weight has been decreased by approximately 200 grams.

Features:

  • Lexan Polycarbonate shell
  • Shark Easy Fit system for comfortable use with glasses
  • Sharktooth ready
  • Integrated drop down sun shield
  • Removable and washable CoolMax liner
  • DOT approved

Worth the money
I read these helmets ran a bit on the small side so I purchased one size larger and found it to be a good fit. I also love the style and features offered, but the air vents offer little (if any) air flow through the helmet.

I can attest to the protection offered by this full face helmet (and the use of safety gear in general). I was in an accident where I went over the handlebars in excess of 50 MPH. Although the helmet took a pretty good hit on the pavement I didn't suffer any head or face injuries.

I will be replacing this helmet with another Shark.

Great helmet
This helmet is expensive, but it fit like a glove out of the box and is super comfortable. I only wear modular helmets, but I love the fact that this one snaps back and can stay in place if you want it to. It's sleek and very stylish as well. My husband just very easily installed a Sena communication system in this helmet. Padding removes quickly and easily.

2 in !
First off this is a replacement for two of my helmets. This is my 4th helmet that I have purchased. The Noise is super low in comparison to my Harley Modular. The weight is about the same. BUT OMG the flip back chin bar is awesome. Ride with it down in the am when it is cold 38 degrees and flip it up in the afternoon when it is 85 degrees it is comfortable either way. I use a blue tooth with the chin bar down and locked and there is no excessive noise. I would recommend this to all my friends and have had a couple look into buying this.

This is my new everyday helmet.
I just recently got this helmet, and I've already put in about 500+ miles on it. Putting it on is a chore, as the opening is tight. I have a 19.5 neck which steadies my large head, I purchased the XL and it fits snug but comfortable. It is a chore to put on, and if you wear glasses, take them off before putting on or taking off the helmet. I did my research and checked all the reviews so I didn't have any misgivings about it, and I can say that it is lighter than some of the other's I've owned. The noise is negligible with the chin piece up or down as the face shield comes down to such an angle right at my chin that it directs most of the wind noise away. Haven't worn it on really scorching hot day's yet, but I don't see it being horrible, in fact, with the way this helmet is made, if you get hot, you can treat it like a good beer and pop it open. I'm very happy with this helmet.

Solid & Good Fit. Worth the Money
Fit & finish is well done. I have had the helmet for a week now and have run 600+ miles with it. The Shark is fairly quiet, noise is not bad. Even when on the interstate while creeping up on 80. The lock up of the chin guard is tight and positive. The selling feature for me was the chin guard flipping up an over. Easy to get on and off once you get use to where things are. The helmet is snug, but not overly tight.
I'm retiring a Nolan N102 purchased in 2007 and that helmet was loose. Time for an upgrade...

My riding is up in NH around the White Mountains. So the weather has been cool. Not sure if just two vents are enough. I'll find out once I ride in the lower part of the State.

The sunscreen drops down far enough. So much so I need to trim it up a little. Rides on the lower bridge of my nose. Not a bad thing. Could be the other way. My Nolan sunscreen did not come down far enough and was on the exterior of the helmet.

Still need some more time to break it in. I'll see how well it wears at the end of the riding season.

What helped me decide on this helmet was the RevZilla reviews. Locally helmet selection is limited. I was looking at a Caberg from another vendor. But, I kept coming back to RevZilla and watched the reviews for the helmets I was interested in. These video reviews we very helpful.

first good helmet since 1992
I haven't used a helmet since 1992, never found one comfortable. This fits all the bills, comfort, style, airflow, and not at all heavy. Feels balanced if you know what I mean.....I'm one happy camper!!!!

Satisfied
Only worn the helmet a couple times but both were fairly long duration. I'm still getting accustomed to the operation of the modular functions so I can be comfortable making changes while driving but i like the options. I was mostly looking for quiet and comfort (neither of which I had with my full-face) because i want to be protected more often, especially on long trips. So far this helmet is everything I had hoped it would be.

love it
got this to replace a bell full face. love the open face option for streets and the one-hand conversion when getting onto or off the highway. it's still a bit loud - or at least no quieter than the bell. the way to close the chin bar is difficult with gloves sometimes - you have to pull the chin bar out away from the helmet before it releases to come forward, so you have to jam your fingers between the two - it needs a larger recess or a handle to make that part better. airflow is great with it open, but in the closed position it is so-so.
the helmet is a little small (I got the XL) and even after a few hundred miles of breaking it in, it can leave my forehead sweaty and red when I take it off after even a 30 minute ride, so definitely get a size bigger than you think you need. they don't go bigger than XL either.

Great ADV/multiseason helmet
I live off the coast of North Carolina and I commute to work on my bike as it is my ONLY source of transportation. I got this helmet in fall and it is perfect for this time of year. Here in NC a fall day can reach upwards of 85° and nights can get into themid to high 30°. When it's hot being able to to flip the helmet open is great. The fit is a bit snug so if you are in between sizes go up one. Also I would recommend to put it on for a few hours to break it in I almost sent it back to go up another size but once I broke it in so to speak it fit much better. Also I wear glasses and the helmet accommodates nicely for the glasses you do have to take off the glasses before you put the helmet on but it does not squeeze the glasses then once you put them back on. Also the built-in sun visor clears for enough room to accommodate the glasses. The only downside to this helmet is it does not have a rear exhaust vent. Other than that I don't have any complaints

Love it!!!
Only had this for one ride but it is very comfortable. And I read reviews that said it was noisy but this might be the quietest helmet I own. Have a Nolan N44 that I like a lot but it is much louder. Only thing bad I can say is it does not have much air flow when you have the bar closed. Overall I'm really happy with it so far. Will review again later after more use if my opinion of it changes.

We take this helmet to Italy with us when we ride there around the MotoGP races. It's proven to be a good choice. It's comfortable and great to be able to convert to an open face while riding. The only downside for me is that they don't easily and comfortably accommodate my prescription glasses.

Hi, I'm in between sizes I'm 56/57, what would be the correct size for me?
Yennifer L on Dec 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I am usually in between small and large. Went with large and it fits perfectly
does the shark evoline 3 st come in size 2x ?
A shopper on Aug 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No idea , mine is a XL, maybe by special order but just give the gear geeks a shout and ask. They are super helpful about everything. Only issues I've had with the evoline 3 ST is that after only 2 months and only a dozen or so of rides, the drop down sunshade mechanism fell apart and no one has be able to help me. RevZilla directed me to some you tube video for removal and installations and Shark never replied to my email. One of the reasons I purchased this helmet. So I'm not a happy camper.
I wear glasses. Can I ride with my glasses on using this helmet?
A shopper on Oct 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes. You do have to remove some of the padding to make room for glasses.
Is this ECE and DOT approved. I am riding in Switzerland and need a new helmet approved there?
Mrs. P on May 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I checked the back of the helmet and the tags. It only has the DOT sticker, so I'm thinking it is not ECE approved. Hope that helps.
