Woodcraft Clip-On Risers w/ Adapter Plate Yamaha FZ-07

The Woodcraft Clip-On Riser and Adapter Plate is CNC machined from billet aluminum and bolts in place of the OEM handlebar and gives FZ-07 riders a more aggressive riding position. This Woodcraft adapter plate can be run with the clip-on risers either pointed up or down, giving riders the option for a 15 minute changeover from a "street" to "track" position. In addition, the use of standard handlebars allows for easy replacements and less damage in the event of a crash. These billet aluminum units look great and allow riders to assume a much more natural stance for sport riding.

The drop from the OEM bar height (measured from the end of the bar) is as follows:

  • 1.5 inch riser "up" / -2.25 inches
  • 1 inch riser "up" / -2.75 inches
  • 1 inch riser "down" / -3.75 inches
  • 1.5 inch riser "down" / -4.25 inches (best for racing)

Includes a pair of 12" black handlebars.

The fz-07 should have come stock with clip ons
This absolutely changes the bike for the better, I feel like I have more control and extend my arms to be much more comfortable. It was relatively easy to install, but I would have liked to see the bars come with the holes pre drilled. But it wasn't hard to do. Also if i could improve them I wish they could be coated differently or something more like the stock bars because they scratch extremely easy. Other than that I absolutely love these. I have the 1.5" and tried them in the down position first, ONLY USE DOWN FOR RACING. At full lock they dont touch the tank but its so close it will pinch your fingers. Plus its just too far down, it really was uncomfortable. Flipped it to the up position and it was perfect. ALSO to note: the instructions didnt say anything about the speedo and when I tried installing it back on, the cable got it the way between the adapter, so pull the rubber cover back and unplug it and fish the wire under the original mounts.

These give you a much more aggressive riding position
I absolutely love these. I use the 1" risers in the down position and they give the bike a much more aggressive riding position. Absolutely wonderful for twisties. Also nice for lane-splitting; car mirrors seem much less likely to be in my way.

Downside? Pretty hard on your lower back on the longer rides, as is the case with any clip-ons. Your back will get more used to the position over time, but my back still starts to hurt a lot after about 200 miles of riding.

The bottom line is, if you like riding your fz-07 aggressively, these are pretty much essential.

Great Bars
I paired these with the Woodcraft rearsets and I'm loving the combo. The bars were super easy to install. Just detach everything from the old bars, remove the old bars, drill matching holes on the new ones for the controls, bolt everything together, and you're done. I'm 6'2" and I have the 1" risers installed in the down position, and they feel pretty comfortable there. Definitely get a pair of rearsets if you're going to get these though.

Completely Changes the character of the FZ-07... for the better
Quality:
I'm no metallurgical expert, but the Woodcraft handlebars appear to be absolutely top notch. There were no visible defects with any piece that I received and it was clear that even the bolts included with the set are of the highest quality. All the pieces fit together precisely with no "fudge factor".

Installation:
Installation is straightforward and the included directions give you all the information you need. The only thing Woodcraft could do to make the installation easier is pre-drill the holes for the retaining nubs on the OEM controls- but that would detract from some of the customizability of control placement. Plus, drilling the holes isn't really that hard, just be sure to measure twice, drill once. I should also mention that everything would be easier with the handlebars if you were willing to disconnect the clutch cable and the brake hose as part of the installation- they definitely restrict the amount of play that you have and you have to work to get them in to place as you reinstall everything.

Function on my Yamaha FZ-07:
They are well-made handlebars that install precisely on the bike, so in terms of functionality, what else can you say? Yes, they work as handlebars as well as any other handlebars.
As for how they change the rider position and character of the bike- it is a huge change for the better in my opinion. I have always loved the FZ-07, I think it has a great engine for my main purpose, which is commuting to and from work, and the lightweight attribute of this bike make it a joy to ride on a daily basis- and make it quite capable of carving corners on fun and fast weekend rides. However, I think that it could benefit from a slightly more aggressive rider position, which is why I got these handlebars. I have the 1" version installed with the risers down. This results in a more forward body angle and your arms being more stretched out when compared to the OEM bars. None of this is to the extent that it is uncomfortable, but it does take a few more core muscles so that you aren't putting all your weight on your wrists. This puts you in a more aerodynamic position for higher speeds, such as on the highway- it also looks really cool- almost a sport bike position on a naked bike. Overall this has a pretty drastic effect on the character of the bike, shifting more of your weight over the front wheel effectively preloads the front suspension and shortens the trail of the bike, making handling even sharper. I've also found the lower hand position also has a stabilizing effect at higher speed. The one negative to all this is that road bumps are a bit more pronounced.

Overall I have really enjoyed the changed characteristics of the FZ-07 with the 1" Woodcraft clip-ons with the risers installed in the down position- definitely would recommend!

Great for getting a sporty seating angle for more aggressive riding.
I have these Woodcraft clip ons on my FZ07, along with the Gilles Tooling rearsets. I love them, and the combo together really transforms the attitude of the bike. Expect to lean forward much more aggressively then the stock set up. I was surprised at how drastic the change felt after installing them, when compared to the product photos. You'll be much more on top of the front end, and turns will feel more responsive and natural - but not as relaxed. Awesome for attacking the curves in the canyons, worse for daily commuting on the grid.

You will lose that "supermoto" feel of the bike and it'll be more like an agile light-weight sports bike. Good or bad, depending on what you're looking for.

Note: At full "lock" these bars will not make any contact with the tank, and leave plenty of room.

A more agressive FZ-07
Like the title states, this gives you a more aggressive and responsive feel to your bike. I tried it in the lower position but it was putting quite a bit of stress on my wrists and back. I flipped it over and went for the conservative 1" drop and it felt great. The other difference besides the drop is the angle of the bars are not as straight as a motard but more like a sport bike. quality is great but it is a bit expensive. It definitely gives the bike a different feel.

Awesome quality.
Finish is great. Can feel the quality of the material. Would definitely recommend having adhesive spray for reinstalling the left grip. Rear sets would be a perfect match with these.

Good for aggressive riding.
I bought these clip-ons to get an aggressive leaning position (1.5 down position) they do their job very well, feels like a different bike in a positive way. However, after a month only the adapter plate (not the bars) changed to a dark black-ish purple color, it makes the product look cheap on a brand new 2016 bike.

Perfect setup
Wow these things really changed the way the bike feels. I have long arms so the other handlebars the bike came with didn't feel right to me. These bars in the up position fit the bill nicely. Install was a pain (didn't take my time). But couldn't be happier with them. Make sure to check cables for throttle and clutch because the lower position can cause the throttle/clutch to bind if the cable is over the front brake reservoir. All in all the new position makes cornering the fz-07 much easier. Feels more planted to the ground. This bike should come with these stock. Worth it

Hi! I own a Yamaha mt07 and was Wondering if this product has an authorization for usage in Europe. Can u give me some informations?
A shopper on Nov 22, 2015
You have the following listed in the description:

"The drop from the OEM bar height (measured from the end of the bar) is as follows:
2 inch riser "up" / +1.75 inches
1.5 inch riser "up" / +2.25 inches
1 inch riser "up" / +3 .75 inches
1 inch riser "down" / -3.25 inches
1.5 inch riser "down" / -3.75 inches (best for racing)"

It looks like you have it a bit scrambled. Maybe recheck those numbers....I think you have the 2" and 1" reversed...but the 1" up number is not making sense at all...take a look. Can you revise these?
PantheraLeo on Jun 9, 2015
Does this come with the pair of bars? It does not mention it in the description except for the risers and adaptor. Thanks
Jorj Anthony T on Dec 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It does.
I own these already. Can I remove the bar ends on these? Was thinking about installing rizoma bar end turn signals. I do know there is also a cap on the inner section of the bar. Can that be removed as well?
Joshua M on Mar 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hey I'm not sure regarding the inner-cap. But for sure, you can remove the bar-end cap on these. I installed a CRG BS mirror on the left side. I took a vice grip to mine, the plastic is a bit mangled from the grip as I pulled/twisted out but it got the job done. You can always try to fit a flat-head in between and get it started that way. Very easy to do.
Anyone using these with the OEM rearsets?
Jacob N on Feb 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I was using them with oem rear sets and not much difference. I decided to get aftermarket rear sets after a few months to bring my feet further back.
are the bar ends plug style or threaded?
Jeff H on Sep 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Plug
What diameter bars come with the set?
A S on Sep 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Standard OEM size...7/8. My stock leavers and mirrors fit without a fight. Though the stock leavers throttle and switches have little nubs inside them 4 proper placing on the bars. So u Have to either drill holes 4 them or file them out like i did. There really not needed anyway. Plus without the nubs u will have more freedom to put everything where u want to on the bars. Hope this helps cause i love these bar and recommend them highly. Would not get any other bars except thses ones.
do these fit the xsr700?

WIll this specific FZ-07 Woodcraft item fit other bikes too? Or do other bikes have different risers or adaptors to it? Which bikes fit this specific item?
