Poor quality not worth half the asking price.
Always thought the Simpson helmets looked great and like nothing on the market. They have a drag race look and background but the good stops there!
If you want a premium lid this IS NOT IT!!!!!
The lining is very cheap looking and wears fast. Looks like *#%*€ after a few rides pills and crushes. The fit is ok but not great I find it's kinda slapped together in look and feel. I found the cheek /ear pads were shifting and deformed after a month. Called Simpson direct and the won't sell you new pads.

The noise from this lid is over the top and even if you think it is somthing you can live with it grates on you if you ride Hwy a lot.
The shield is super poor to close and open. The system looks to by designed by a 10 year old kid. The shield detents won't hold the shield open at any speed above 20mph. The shield also scratches the paint off the helmet shell when it pivots.
Just one more fault that proves it slapped together with no thought
I am NOT RECOMENDING this helmet.
This just feels like a helmet that's made in someone's garage and not a top shelf product.
I have an older Shoei lid that is 100% better in every way. The Quest by Shoie is my next choice.
Love Revzilla but now hate Simpson Helmets after owning one.

Great Style, poor performance
The safety features are great being SNELL and DOT. The helmet will keep you very safe in the case of a collision/crash.

The style is very unique and attention grabbing. The padding, vision, and extremely loud noise while riding is very fatiguing.

I put on 300 miles with it the first day. This is defiantly not a touring or long distance helmet.

Cool looking helmet, but if you want performance go with a Shoei Qwest.

Not for oval head shape!
This review is nothing against the helmet itself, but more as a warning to riders with more of an oval head shape. I wear a large in all other manufacturers. I ordered the large after looking at the size chart and the helmet didn't fit at all. I had pinch points in the front and back and did not make good contact on the sides. The chin bar actually touched my chin. The cheek pads didn't stay in place very well either. The Velcro used to keep the pads in place was mounted wrong and not strong enough to hold the pads in place while putting the helmet on. Very sad that the outlaw didn't work for me because it is a great looking lid!!!

Great Fit Very Light
Helmet came with extra cheek pieces for a custom fit. Very good field of view, very light, very comfortable. At highway speeds and above, it does not even remotely lift. I love the aggressive shape and get lots of compliments. It is worth every penny!!!
I ride a 2012 Switchback in Montana.

cheaply.
Helmet is made cheaply. Velcro ? get with the times you need to up date the quality and build. This could be a Bad Ass helmet. If the looks can kill this could other helmets, but the quality and build needs to improve dramatically.

biggest disappointment
I bought this helmet despite the bad reviews, I thought that maybe some people were over exaggerating. unfortunately they were not. I have had quite a few helmets aria, scorpion, shoe, hjc, icon, and bell and i have to say this was the most poorly designed helmet i have ever owned, besides the looks there is nothing else this helmet has going for it. the shield is held together by 2 screws which do not keep the visor tight agains the helmet it has a lot of play and the notches that are supposed to hold the shield at certain points when open, don't, if you barley touch the visor when open it closes. the seal well there really isn't one and once again the visor wiggles and moves all over the place when closed. for a $400 helmet you think they could of spent more than 2 seconds on the latch that keeps the visor closed, it consist of a hole in the visor and a plastic peg on the helmet thats all where as helmets like aria have a snap lock which is awesome and doesn't let the shield move at all. the cheek pads look and feel cheap, and lastly like i said before the chin and shield are cool looking but once you look at the back you will think your looking at rick moraines from space balls. i really tried to like this helmet, i really wanted to and even tried to convince myself to look past the downfalls but in reality its a $75 helmet they are selling for $400

Great Helmet
This helmet looks really good and even more with a smoke visor. The helmet feels really light and is comfortable. I usually get Medium helmet but I got a Large according to the sizing chart (my head measure 23'') and the fit is perfect for me. I recommend this helmet it is comfortable and flow enough air and it looks killer.

This helmet turns heads
This helmet is a shower and it is very functional for what it's worth. I think Simpson did and exceptional job building this helmet. The vents act as described, the air flow is just right (in my opinion). The field of view is particularly large considering it's a full face helmet. Overall, I'm very pleased with this helmet and it's definitely a head turner on the streets. It's very well accepted in the Harley world as well.

Size chart puts me in 2 diff sizes. I Wear a 7 3/8 fitted hat, which puts me in the Large...But, when I measure my head with a body tape, I'm 22 1/2 - 22 9/16...which puts me at a Medium size. What size should I go with? Do these run small or large in their size??? Thanks
A shopper on Feb 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have the Simpson M30 and they fit true to size. I am about a 7 1/4, so around 58cm (M) and it fits absolutely perfectly. I have always worn a size Medium in any brand of lids, and the Simpson M30 in a Medium is spot on. I would go with what ever size lid you have always worn. For instance, I have a Bell Moto 4 from '84 in flawless condition that is a size 58cm (M), the Simpson M30 (M), a Biltwell Gringo LE (M), and a Lazer Mambo (M). So regardless of what brand I've bought, they all seem to fit true to size, and that goes for Simpson as well. I hope that somewhat helps, it always helps to get some feed back from a Simpson owner.
What is the weight of this helmet?
A shopper on Jul 2, 2016
Is it true that the visor doesn't stay open well when riding? Thanks in advance!
Joel S on Jul 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It certainly doesn't have the functionality of a Shoei or Arai. You are not going to get far with the visor flipped all the way up. However, due to the way the lock is designed, the visor will sit up about 20-30 degrees allowing ventilation at stops or on hot days. This is definitely a drawback considering the price, but I have been riding with this lid for about 3 months and I love it.
Is this helmet ECE 22.05 approved?
A shopper on May 1, 2016
Are the simpson logos on the top of helmet and sides of visor removable? Thanks in advance!
A shopper on Jun 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: From the visor yes, but I have not removed the logo on the top of the helmet
Does the jutting chin cause a lot of drag, especially when the rider turns around?
A shopper on Nov 3, 2015
BEST ANSWER: To be honest I thought hat would be a problem as well but I have never noticed anything worse than what I experienced wearing a Biltwell Gringo. When looking straight ahead there's a drastic improvement and although you will experience some drag while looking over your shoulders it won't be any more than with any other full face.

Hope this helps.
I'm really like the styling and reviews that I've heard about the m30 but I'm concerned about ordering because I'm in Australia and the vid suggests that unless you are a round head forget it....despite that I see a lot of guys online with oval heads wearing the m30 and liking it. If I get the m30 should I go a size larger than usual because f my oval head or just forget it and get the outlaw instead?
A shopper on May 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have owned the outlaw for about 2 and a half months now and have ridden with it quite a bit. I have an oval shaped head and it fits great. Very comfortable and vents surprisingly well for a helmet with only mouth vents. I also saw some reviews that said it has a narrow view but I believe it has a great range of vision out the face shield. Unfortunately I do not have any experience with the M30 so I cannot say if it will fit you or not...all I can say is that I was not disappointed with the outlaw.
I wear a medium in bell helmets. What size for the outlaw bandit would fit me?
Steven G on Apr 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I wear a Large in. Most helmet sizes and the XL still fits me a little snug with the smaller cheek pads in the outlaw bandit
Is there a chin curtain or breath box available for this helmet?
Brian A on Jun 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: So far As I can tell, everything about Simpson is bare bones. So no, probably not. Looks very badass but if you're after practicality rather than aesthetics, spring for the shoei RF-1200. My wife has this hat and its actually a fantastic helmet in every aspect
I have been interested in purchasing the outlaw bandit for awhile now but I am not sure because i heard that the mouth piece is short and is very close to your mouth. I heard that the Street Bandit has a more longer mouth piece on it. My question is on the Outlaw Bandit if you go bigger in size does the mouthpiece get a little longer?
A shopper on May 11, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I own the outlaw bandit and it fits perfectly. I was going back and forth between outlaw and the m30. After watching the helpful reviews from revzilla, I went with the outlaw because I have more of an oval shaped head. The mouth piece is nice and long. I don't feel as long it is too close either. If I wanted, I could stick my hand up it. Now I'm not sure if the mouth piece gets bigger if you get a bigger size but I would assume it would grow with the size. But use their size chart. It works perfectly for me. So I'd say use the chart and see if it fits. Simpson also sends 2 sets of cheek pads (one smaller then the other) incase you need to swap them. Free shipping over $40 and no restock fee; doesn't hurt to try it on
