Sargent World Sport Performance Seat Suzuki V-Strom DL650

Continuing in the tradition of meticulously designed seating options, Sargent is pleased to offer the Sargent World Sport Performance Seat.

Utilizing advanced digital modeling, computer design techniques, precise manufacturing processes and superior materials, each World Sport seat pan is precision-molded for superior fit and outfitted with high-quality hardware. Also featuring Sargent’s signature vacuum-formed PVC acrylic alloy seat pan, this super tough, lightweight material provides an exceptional high-performance seat foundation.

Gel-Free! Each Sargent World Performance seat offers superior comfort and suspension without the thermal retention and extra weight of gel. The Super Cell Atomic Foam suspension is a unique and proprietary blend of resilience, firmness, and vibration-absorption qualities. Most stock seats suffer from a crowned shape that centralizes pressure and creates discomfort. The level, wider and slightly cupped foam shape of the Sargent World Sport Seat distributes pressure evenly and eliminates hot spots for incredible long-distance comfort.

All Sport Performance Seat features marine-grade, UV-stabilized, color-coordinated upholstery - hand sewn specifically to maximize the qualities of the Super Cell Atomic Foam.

Features:

  • Widened PVC seat pan for more lateral support
  • CarbonFX vinyl
  • Super Cell Atomic Foam for improved riding comfort
  • Handy, under-the-seat storage
  • Eliminates forward slope and provides a more neutral seating angle for the driver
  • Made in the USA

Forward Slope
This seat does not Eliminate forward slope on the Dl 650. It is better than the OME model but not by a lot. A disappointment for me.

Excellent replacement for the horrible V-Strom stock seat
The 650 V-strom is a great motorcycle except the stock seat is terrible. I'm a long distance (100+mile rides) bicyclist besides being a MC ride for 35 years. I can handle 6-8 hours on a skinny un padded bicycle saddle no problem.
The stock suzuki seat was uncomfortable after 1 hr of riding. The shape is absurd; like sitting on a log. I've ridden many 500 mile+ days on other motorcycles and never had so much discomfort.
The Sargent seat is very comfortable, properly shaped and well made. Very similar to the older Corbin sport seats. It's a firm saddle that's easy to move around on.
I'm 5'9", 32 inseam and about 170 lbs.

Great supportive seat
Sargent makes great saddles. I don't know why the motorcycle manufacturers can't do the same. The Suzuki stock saddle is actually pretty good for OEM and might be the exception. I wanted the lowering offered by Sargent. However I don't really think it feels any lower than stock but it is shaped slightly differently and the material is a bit slipperier. It is definately easer to shift over to put one foot down. It is however far more comfortable.

2012+ Suzuki V-Strom 650 Sargent Seat
This seat is head and shoulders better than the OEM 2012+ Suzuki V-Strom 650 seat. I was contemplating on getting the low seat height variant but decided to go with the standard seat height. The standard seat height is roughly the same or a tiny bit lower than stock but provides a much wider level base to sit on. Seat cover is more slipery than OEM material which allows a rider to move positions easier as well as the ability to slide to the front to put your feet down at stops if a little short legged. Is this the most comfortable seat for the V-Strom? Not sure, but is pretty darn good right out of the box and would fit a wide variety of riders. Tool tube is an excellent addition to an overall amazing seat. Seat installed into place better than the OEM. No hardware assembly required. The looks of the seat go with the style of the bike, which I really liked. I would highly recommend to owners looking for a replacement seat.

Sargent seats are fantastic. One complaint might be the seat slanting forward into the tank a bit on the V-Strom 650. Very comfortable for my all day rides, stopping every couple hours.

Does the low seat still provide a flat enough surface to prevent the rider from sliding into the tank? I am looking at different lower seat options but do not want to sacrifice too much comfort just to be able to flat foot.

BEST ANSWER: I have the standard seat, but it takes away most of the forward slide. There is just a bit of slide left.

I've not ridden it far yet, but have done a 500 mile day with 150 to 175 miles between gas stops and even without my sheepskin cover installed on it yet, or my riding shorts under my pants the seat was fantastic. At the end of the ride I had no pain.

I am riding form NY to Glacier National Park in the end of July, I'll get back here and rate the seat after that 6000 mile, 12 day ride.
