Sargent World Sport Performance Seat Kawasaki Concours ZG1400

Continuing in the tradition of meticulously designed seating options, Sargent is pleased to offer the Sargent World Sport Performance Seat.

Utilizing advanced digital modeling, computer design techniques, precise manufacturing processes and superior materials, each World Sport seat pan is precision-molded for superior fit and outfitted with high-quality hardware. Also featuring Sargent’s signature vacuum-formed PVC acrylic alloy seat pan, this super tough, lightweight material provides an exceptional high-performance seat foundation.

Gel-Free! Each Sargent World Performance seat offers superior comfort and suspension without the thermal retention and extra weight of gel. The Super Cell Atomic Foam suspension is a unique and proprietary blend of resilience, firmness, and vibration-absorption qualities. Most stock seats suffer from a crowned shape that centralizes pressure and creates discomfort. The level, wider and slightly cupped foam shape of the Sargent World Sport Seat distributes pressure evenly and eliminates hot spots for incredible long-distance comfort.

All Sport Performance Seat features marine-grade, UV-stabilized, color-coordinated upholstery - hand sewn specifically to maximize the qualities of the Super Cell Atomic Foam.

Features:

  • Widened PVC seat pan for more lateral support
  • CarbonFX vinyl
  • Super Cell Atomic Foam for improved riding comfort
  • Handy, under-the-seat storage
  • Eliminates forward slope and provides a more neutral seating angle for the driver
  • Made in the USA

Excellent seat at excellent price!
I've been reading reviews all over the place trying to find a more comfy seat for my 2008 Concours. Everyones rear ends are different, so it's really hard to know what your experience will be like when comparing it to someone else.

Having read enough positive reviews on this seat, and given that it's almost half the price of the some of the other brands available I went ahead and took the plunge.

I'm glad I did!

Construction and fit and finish on this seat is excellent. All the seams look very clean and it looks like this will be able to hold up for quite a while.
First thing you notice when sitting on it is that it is stiffer than the original. Some might think this a bad thing, but anyone that's pulled multi-hundred mile days in the saddle knows that you need that firmer foam. It keeps it from compressing in to a hard mass or letting you bottom out on the seat pan.

Initial ride was around 100 miles and while I'm still adjusting to the seat so needed to move around a bit, it is infinitely better than the stock seat for my derriere!

Installation is a breeze as it goes on exactly the same way as the stock seat, though you'll need to press down a bit more where it latches on to the metal parts on the body.

There's a nice storage bin under the seat where you can stuff various small items that don't need to be easily accessible.

All in all I'm very pleased with the seat, and infinitely please with Revzilla's customer service. They called almost immediately when they saw my shipping and billing addresses were different to verify I was me. And they still had it shipped out the same day.

WELL CONSTRUCTED, HIGH QUALITY MATERIALS
THIS IS A DEFINITE IMPROVEMENT OVER THE STOCK SEAT. I PURCHASED THE LOW MODEL, AND MY FEET ARE NOW FIRMLY PLANTED ON THE GROUND AT STOPS. I MADE A 300 MKI TRIP RECENTLY AND I EXPERIENCED NO DISCOMFORT, AS A MATTER OF FACT I COULD HAVE
GONE MUCH FURTHER IF NECESSARY. VERY SELDOM DOES A PRODUCT LIVE UP TO ITS HYPE, BUT THIS ONE IS AN EXCEPTION. THANKS FOR A GREAT PRODUCT.

Perfect Fit
The seat fits perfectly. I had heard complaints of loose fitting and wiggle. Not true in this case. It also lowered the ride height by 1.5 inches which was my goal.

Good-looking seat, overall good value, could be a little better.
I purchased this seat to replace the factory seat on my Concours 14 to slightly lower my stance and give me more control at stops. Also, I personally think the aesthetic is much cleaner than the stock two-tone look. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase but it didn't quite give me as much difference as I thought it would; it feels like it's practically the same height, while at the same time it is certainly not as padded, so my wife finds it just a little less comfortable on longer trips. Additionally, it seems to scuff easier that I would have hoped, and the scuffs don't clean off easily (some won't come off at all). Not sure if they're coming from boots, jeans or leathers, but still they bother me a little. At the end of the day, I'm keeping this seat on, because it is slightly lower, better looking, and just as comfortable for me on solo rides. Lastly, the initial install involved slightly more force than the stock seat, but it broke in quickly, and now I can remove it and reinstall it easily and smoothly.

WOW what a difference !
I am 5’-6” 165 pounds with a 30” inseam. The painful lean towards the gas tank is now gone! That alone was worth the purchase. Fit and finish are top notch making the stock seat look outdated. This seat has a much wider profile which is great for your underside but takes a little away from the 1.5” lowered seat height. Best of all, I feel seated in the bike, rather than on top of it. Handling has improved since I have more leverage with a lower center of gravity. Also I can do without the handle bar risers with the drop in seat height and have a better view from the mirrors that tend to be blocked by the saddlebags. Installing it was a snap, same as the stock seat. This purchase has totally changed the comfort, looks and handling of this bike! And thanks to Revzilla for some crazy-fast shipment !

Excellent alternative to the stock seat
I am 6'2" and weigh 205. I bought the regular height seat in all-black. I like the look of the all-black better than any two-tone look. My problem with the stock seat is that it seemed to want to push me forward toward the gas tank making for some uncomfortable riding. The Sergeant eliminated that so the trial 350-mile ride my wife and I took last weekend was fairly comfortable. My butt still gets sore (tired?) so 300 or so miles in a day is about enough fun for me. My wife liked it also because she always felt she was sliding forward on the stock seat. The seat fit easily and seems very secure. It's sturdy, and although I'm not using the underseat storage area right now, I'll probably stick some stuff down there later - emergency money, etc. I know there are some pretty pricey non-stock seats out there, but I think for the money, this is a pretty good buy -- I do not intend to return it, and I would recommend that interested folks at least give it a try.

A 'world' better than stock
I'm 6' 2", 240 lbs with a ~33" inseam. My problems with the stock seat were sore butt, too much forward lean and sliding forward into the tank with every bump. I could only do 60 - 90 minuets at a time. The forward lean contributed to sore wrists/hands and tired neck from having to look up.

The Sargent seat is built with a slight dish, which addressed all these issues: much better weight distribution, more relaxed (slightly more upright) riding posture and far less sliding forward. On day 2 of my first trip with the Sargent seat, I went 4 hours without distracting discomfort.

I read about the foam being too firm until a break-in period, but this was not an issue for me. Fit and finish are great and the seat looks better than the original. There's a small squeaking sound when I push down on the seat, which I expect a little silicone, sprayed on the 4 rubber bushings will eliminate...if & when I care enough.

I noticed no change in my ability to flat-foot during stops with my standard-height Sargent seat. I retained my stock seat with this complete replacement, in case I needed or wanted to go with a more custom seat (Day-long; Laam; Bill Mayer; etc.) later. Don't think I'll need to.

I don't ride two-up but a similar dish is built into the rear seat so I imagine similar comfort benefits exist.

The Sargent seat is not a radical change from the stock seat: same overall width and ~1" shorter in back. Height from the ground seems the same. To install, pop off the old and pop on the new. The heavy-duty vinyl seems durable. I like the carbon-fiber look and the well executed trim.

'Zilla delivered a perfect product pronto and their video reviews helped me make a good decision, sight unseen- - Thanks guys!

No difference at first
When I changed seats, at first didnt notice much difference. Thought I wasted my money. Then I took my first long trip on it (1600 miles). Doesnt feel much lower than stock, but I didnt get sore as much after 8 hrs riding. My longest day was 488 miles in 8.5 hours and felt fine. Havent had a passenger on yet, so I cant tell you if they like it better.

Great Seat
Fitment guide says it will fit 08-12 Concours 14 ABS. I purchased the low version and it does fit 2014 model year. Installed just fine locks secure. Seat is comfortable but it is firmer than the factory seat. Fit and finish is great!

Huge upgrade over OEM seat
The Sargent seat is HUGE improvement in appearance. Looks really great with the silver piping. The stock seat looked cheap. I made a two day ride with many hours in the saddle and arrived without my butt hurting as it did before with the stock seat. It fits me ergonomically fairly well, enough so that I don't feel that the extra cost and bother of a custom seat would be worth it. My son-in-law has a custom seat which doesn't look nearly as sharp as the Sargent. For a point of reference, I am a 62 guy, 6' 180 lbs. Unless you are shorter, taller, heavier., etc. than ordinary I think you would be happier with this seat than many custom ones.
