Pants are great but quality and warranty are suspect
As I commute everyday I wanted a pair of riding pants that were waterproof and didn't require taking my boots off. These pants are perfect.

Only issue I have had was the zipper ripped the second time I wore them. Warranty means sending them back to Revzilla (after emailing photos of the damage) who then sends them back to Rev'it for repair. All in all, it took over a month to get the pants back. Not what I expect in a high end product and probably the reason I won't buy any more Rev'it brand products.

Great fall/spring commuting overpants
Although not inexpensive, these pants are fantastic overpants for commuting during fall and spring weather.

Sizing: I am a 34W/32L and the Large size is a perfect fit over jeans. The sizing chart initially made me concerned about the inseam length, but upon arrival I found the length to be ideal and clearly designed to be long enough for a riding position. The knee armor position is adjustable, but it was already well-positioned for me out-of-the-box.

Temperature Range: So far I’ve used these in temperatures from the low 40s (F) to the upper 60s, and have never been uncomfortable. The pants are wind and waterproof, but unlined, so true cold winter riding would probably need a warmer layer underneath. However, the lack of lining is great on the days where it’s in the 40s in the morning and 60s in the afternoon. I’m guessing the combination of jeans and these pants will be fine at least until it gets down around freezing, although the wind proofing probably limits its use in hotter weather due to its lack of air flow.

Comfort: I’ve found no fitment issues to cause discomfort, and range-of-motion is as good as one could ask for when wearing two pairs of pants. If installed, the knee armor makes the legs a bit more bulky, and can make getting on and off the bike slightly clumsier, but I imagine it’s still no worse than a thickly-padded pair of winter overpants.

Style: I was intentionally shopping for pants that weren’t overly thick so it wouldn’t look like I was wearing snow pants when I walked into the office. Without knee armor installed these pants pretty much appear like “normal” black pants to casual observation, although they do make a slight “swishing” noise when walking.

Ease-of-use: With the full-length zippers down the inseam these are super easy to put on and off with boots on. The exterior pocket is easy to access with gloves. The knee armor is straight-forward to remove and install. One benefit of the lack of an insulating liner is that it folds up very flat, so it can be worn on cooler mornings into the office and folded up into a backpack for the ride home on a hot afternoon.

Price: I’m quite happy with the product, even though it does seem like a premium price for a pair of unlined textile overpants. While I’m sure there are other products with a better bang-for-the-buck value for different uses/seasons, I do think these pants are very intelligently designed to fit the needs of a workday rider. I think the name “Commuter” really is very appropriate here.

Perfect for my commute
This pant is just what I've been looking for. I personally needed an overpant that was not vented, for mild/cold weather. I have been using a mesh pant but it's starting to get cold in the mornings on my way to work. I don't want to use a liner with that pant because I may not need it in the afternoon on my way home so I don't want the hassle of putting it in or removing it. I also own the Vapor pant which I really like and would definitely keep me warm, but there's no way I could use it as an overpant. So the Commuter is perfect.

Easy to get on/off with the zippers that go all the way up. Nice and comfortable so far in the temps I've worn it in- from high 30's to low 70's. This with only shorts on underneath. Got caught in a surprise rainfall yesterday; very glad these are waterproof. The armor seems pretty rugged as well, but I hope to never test it.

If I had to knock the Commuter for anything, it might be the limited color choice, that being all-black. But that is nit-picking. It's perfect for me in every other aspect. Comfortable, durable, nice style, less baggy than other overpants I've seen, warm. Glad I bought it.

BTW, I'm 5'8, 165 and bought the medium regular. Fits perfectly over shorts/pants.

These Pants Are Killer
Rev'it really hit the mark with these, they are perfect in almost every way. Depending on where you live, these will be your go-to pant.

I needed something:
1. Safe
2. Comfortable
3. Easy to put on and take off
4. Affordable
5. Stylish

In that order.

And these delivered!

I live in San Francisco and travel around not only in the Fog City itself, but to all the many forests, coastal highways, and such surrounding it. I personally run very cool (i.e. I don't get hot easily) so these are perfect.

If I ran hot and rode in hotter climates, I may not love these pants as venting is... well, kinda workable, but not really. If you wear these correctly, there will be no venting - so keep that in mind.

I am 6ft, 185 - athletic build with a 32 in waist. Medium fit like a charm over a pair of pants and bare with a little cinching.

Good Fall/Spring/ - maybe winter pant
I live in NC where the winters aren't that cold. I wanted a non-vented overpant for commuting. I am 5'10" and 160 lbs, so slim build. The US brands typically are too loose and bulky on me, so I prefer the Euro fit. These pants fit very well in size M. I can wear them for a 20 min commute to work all winter, but if I were riding all day in the cold, I would add a base layer. Full inner zipper makes them easy to get on/off over boots. Thigh pocket is a nice addition. Build quality is very high.

My first pair of overpants and they seem perfect
I've been looking everywhere (online) for a good pair of overpants to use while commuting to work every day. I wanted protection and something very easy to put on and take off over work pants. I usually have to wear khakis or slightly nicer pants to work so I wanted an overpant to keep my nicer pants from looking totally wind-blown or rained-on. Despite the higher price, I went with these and they are great. Thanks to the very large zipper on the inside of each leg they are super easy to put on/take off. This was a huge plus for me because I have some rain-specific pants with a zippered ankle cuff that ALWAYS gets hung-up on the fabric, but not these! This large/thick zipper glides easily and doesn't get hung. I also like the dual velcro adjusters on the ankle cuff itself. I keep the larger adjuster where I want it, and the small attachment closes the cuff perfectly after you get them zipped. The outside pocket is critical and very handy - another pocket on the left side would have been nice too, but the single one does the job most of the time. The armor stays in place, feels secure and is not a distraction. As far as sizing, I am 6'1" and I weigh 210-215 pounds. I usually wear a size 36 pant, although with today's 'vanity' sizing of pants a size 35 is actually better. So for this pant I tried both the extra large (too big) and the size large (just right). The waist band has an adjuster on both sides which is very handy. When I tried the extra large I had to cinch them in all the way and it was too much extra fabric, but on the size large, I have them cinched all the way out and its a great fit. The slide button closure on the waist is awesome. Very good secure closure slide-to-snap into place feeling - all pants should have this. Pull them up above your belt then close them and it's perfect. Highly recommended, even though they are a little pricey.

The best pants I have ever owned
This is the most expensive pair of pants I have ever owned and they are worth every penny. I used to ride in just jeans, then I rode in motorcycle jeans and my biggest issue was my knees would get so cold and would ache after every fall or spring ride. These over-pants cut the wind, are breathable and water proof yet super durable. They just extended my riding season by at least one month. Also I highly recommend getting the suspenders, they take the comfort of the pants to the next level.

I got my regular pant size which is 38, I was worried they would be big but I am glad I got all of that room for wearing pants underneath and just general comfort.

Amazing pants in every way!

Very good fit and protection
As a NOOB rider I wanted good protection for my commute to the office. These pant are a great solution. Knee pads are in the right place. Hip pads feel solid yet not stiff. Easy on and easy off with zippers that run almost the whole length of the legs. A great addition to the ATGATT. FWTW: In my mid 50's. Raced moto and desert as a teen. No small/tall. Bummer!
Material, craftsmanship, pads, zippers, all excellent! The waist, hip, leg circumference, all perfect! But, 4 inches too short. Armor, even when adjusted to lowest position, rides too high, and the legs, when sitting on the bike, end about 3-4 inches above the ankle.

I wear 30x32 street jeans.

Please, REV'IT!, make small-tall size! Please!

Want easy on, easy off commuter pants that offer solid CE knee AND hip protection. Can't for the life of me figure out why so many pants skimp on the hip protection, when thats one of the first areas of your body to make contact with the road on a low-side. Knee protection is also top notch on these. Plus, water proofing on a non-summer pair of pants is a no-brainer.

Will this overpant zip to an Outback or Levant Revit Jacket. Can you recommend any other pant that can be used as an over pant but maybe have more breath ability?
A shopper on Sep 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I know nothing about the jackets you are referring to, although I do know the pants come with both sides of the zipper, half installed on pants and the other half with enough material to make it a simple sew job to attach to a jacket (both short zipper assembly and 360 assembly)
Anybody wear this as a NON over the pant. Like a regular pant next to body? How's the fit?
Daniel L on Mar 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have and you will sweat in semi warm weather there's no lining at all.
Nobody has made reference to the most important question of all. Are they 100% waterproof in torrential rain?
Andrew R on Sep 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I live in the Seattle area and commute regularly. So far (more than 5 full rain commutes) they have kept me completely dry. Time will tell how they hold up.
I usually wear a 32-32 pants would size small work as an overpant? Or should I get medium
A shopper on Aug 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I wear the same pant size and I went with medium. Fits perfectly.
is the hip armor removable? How would you rate the abbrasion resitance in a 70-80mph slide?
A shopper on Oct 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the hip armor is removable and sits in a pocket. I wouldn't like to try these or any other textile pants abrasion resistance at 70 mph. BUT, the material is pretty heavy duty for a textile garment and they are constructed well. If I regularly rode at those speeds, I would chose leather.
How bulky are these when folded? Would they fit in a 30-litre rucksack or a one-helmet topbox?
Carlo D on Mar 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Depends. .. I am small and have small pants. Mine would fit no problem. I think you can stow them as you wish but would have very little room left. Just a not.... I love these pants!
DOES THIS REQUIRE ONE OR TWO HIP PROTECTORS?
A C on May 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It has hip protectors built in to each side. You can replace it with armor of your own choice but I have found that the armor it comes with is quite sturdy.
Where should the knee armor be positioned in these pants?
Steven S on Jan 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Is this a sizing question? For me, in the riding position - the knee armor sits right at the top of the 90 degree knee bent and covers the front of the knee and lower leg.
These pants are fantastic - as a work commuter and a general overpant - worth every penny.
Is PWR|shell a polyester material or a nylon material?
Zack C on Sep 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Tag says outer shell is made of Polyamide material. New for me so I looked it up. Here is what I found about Polyamide... a synthetic polymer of a type made by the linkage of an amino group of one molecule and a carboxylic acid group of another, including many synthetic fibers such as nylon.
What is the inseam on a Large/Short? I know it says 2" shorter than regular, but the size chart has only a 2" range on it, and there is a tall version. So which is which?
Martha R on Sep 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes I am 6'5" with a 36" inseam, tried both the large and XL in a tall size and they were close to my jean lengths with boots, they fit great
