These overpants are great. I've been using them for a while now and I'm very happy with them. They are truly waterproof as I sat on a wet saddle in the rain and rode 20+ minutes, no water got in at all.

Need an over pant for commuting to work in a nicer pair of pants. Thought about the REVIT Chinos, but would have to wear everyday, or buy multiple pairs, so purchased these instead.

Fits well as overpants. Not too bulky. Good protection.

Easy to put on every day to commute

Want easy on, easy off commuter pants that offer solid CE knee AND hip protection. Can't for the life of me figure out why so many pants skimp on the hip protection, when thats one of the first areas of your body to make contact with the road on a low-side. Knee protection is also top notch on these. Plus, water proofing on a non-summer pair of pants is a no-brainer.
Jaron A on Jan 2, 2017
A friend of mine has these pants and was highly impressed with the quality of the workmanship! So I purchased as well and couldn't be more happier..
Michael P on Nov 1, 2016
They seem the best overpants between all brands. The only downside I see is that there is no ventilation. We will se how they go in Ecuador's crazy climate.
Mario L on Oct 27, 2016
I chose the pants for easy on and off for commuting to work.

I was looking for a good looking, waterproof pair of overpants for my commute.
aacdebo on Sep 19, 2016
Great pants for commuting. They are a bit warm in the summer but are waterproof and great when you get caught in rain. I mainly wear these in the spring, fall, and winter and love them.
Patrick D on Aug 14, 2016
I need a pant that easily fits over pants and boots. I need to change quickly when getting to work which makes having to take off boots a pain.
Barry B on May 26, 2016
Loved the features but could not cleanly get pants over wet boots.
Vada D on Jan 8, 2016
I needed a pant to stay warm as the weather here in Ontario gets cold in the mornings as fall begins to take hold.

Will this overpant zip to an Outback or Levant Revit Jacket. Can you recommend any other pant that can be used as an over pant but maybe have more breath ability?
A shopper on Sep 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I know nothing about the jackets you are referring to, although I do know the pants come with both sides of the zipper, half installed on pants and the other half with enough material to make it a simple sew job to attach to a jacket (both short zipper assembly and 360 assembly)
Anybody wear this as a NON over the pant. Like a regular pant next to body? How's the fit?
Daniel L on Mar 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have and you will sweat in semi warm weather there's no lining at all.
Nobody has made reference to the most important question of all. Are they 100% waterproof in torrential rain?
Andrew R on Sep 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I live in the Seattle area and commute regularly. So far (more than 5 full rain commutes) they have kept me completely dry. Time will tell how they hold up.
is the hip armor removable? How would you rate the abbrasion resitance in a 70-80mph slide?
A shopper on Oct 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the hip armor is removable and sits in a pocket. I wouldn't like to try these or any other textile pants abrasion resistance at 70 mph. BUT, the material is pretty heavy duty for a textile garment and they are constructed well. If I regularly rode at those speeds, I would chose leather.
How bulky are these when folded? Would they fit in a 30-litre rucksack or a one-helmet topbox?
Carlo D on Mar 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Depends. .. I am small and have small pants. Mine would fit no problem. I think you can stow them as you wish but would have very little room left. Just a not.... I love these pants!
A C on May 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It has hip protectors built in to each side. You can replace it with armor of your own choice but I have found that the armor it comes with is quite sturdy.
I usually wear a 32-32 pants would size small work as an overpant? Or should I get medium
A shopper on Aug 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I wear the same pant size and I went with medium. Fits perfectly.
Where should the knee armor be positioned in these pants?
Steven S on Jan 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Is this a sizing question? For me, in the riding position - the knee armor sits right at the top of the 90 degree knee bent and covers the front of the knee and lower leg.
These pants are fantastic - as a work commuter and a general overpant - worth every penny.
Is PWR|shell a polyester material or a nylon material?
Zack C on Sep 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Tag says outer shell is made of Polyamide material. New for me so I looked it up. Here is what I found about Polyamide... a synthetic polymer of a type made by the linkage of an amino group of one molecule and a carboxylic acid group of another, including many synthetic fibers such as nylon.
What is the inseam on a Large/Short? I know it says 2" shorter than regular, but the size chart has only a 2" range on it, and there is a tall version. So which is which?
Martha R on Sep 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes I am 6'5" with a 36" inseam, tried both the large and XL in a tall size and they were close to my jean lengths with boots, they fit great

Welcome to our detailed breakdown of the new REV'IT! Commuter Overpants available at

I'm gonna lead this off by saying I'm a huge fan of the direction that REV'IT! went with the new Commuter Overpant. North of $300. They didn't spare any expense, and they've done one of the most bomb-proof overpants with a great look, great style, great protection scheme, then we've seen previously from anyone. If we look at it at a glance, you can see the style. I have it here on Hi-Viz Brian. It's blacked-outs and overpant. Two to three season cold weather. There's no venting here. It's not gonna flow air. Keep that in mind. So fall, winter, spring is going to be my recommendation. But what's nice about it is using 500D and 1000D in the knee to really beef up the exterior. What's also a really welcomed addition is using hydratex, which is their waterproof, breathable, laminate material for their layer, the membrane, and they're laminating it to the outer shell. So again, it's one layer, just like the way Gore-Tex would work. It's a single outer shell that now has multiple layers, that has it sandwiched together with that waterproof breathability baked in.

So again, it just has a nice, clean line to it. Has a clean feel. It's gonna fit as an overpant, remember, on top of your motorcycle or over top of your pants. If you're wearing a pair of jeans to work, that would be the way you would rock this. The other thing that I absolutely love about this part of the new REV'IT! Collection, and knowing they're coming at it from a premium place is they're using the new Seeflex armor. Now this is the Seeflex armor. This is the knee. It's fully adjustable. This is CE level 2. Temperature stable. It's going to cover the new European CE standard for level 2 for limbs. So knees, elbows, shoulders now have that level 2 distinction. They're absolutely including it. Notice, it's ventilated. It's fully encompassing. Again, it's shock absorbing. It's going to absorb energy, and that's a knee and a shin. It's also going to come with Seesoft in the hips. So again, you're having CE level 1 included at the hips, CE level 2 Seeflex included in the knee. Again, rounding out the full assortment, and when I get to it in a second, you're gonna see there's a lot of other creature comforts that make this a rock-solid, premium over pant.

It comes in Short and Tall sizes, which changes the inseam length. So Small, Medium, Large, X-large, coming in Short, coming in Tall, coming in Regular. Again, you have the ability to really fine-tune it. And you have the adjustability in the knees to make sure that armor stays in the right place. But keep in mind, you're buying it as an overpant. So when you use the size chart, buy your size based on your normal sizing, and you're gonna have plenty of room and adjustability to wear it over top of a pair of jeans or whatever pant you're wearing underneath it. You're also gonna see here, when you come in toward the top that they have that slide, that adjustability for sizing that's baked into the waist of the pant itself. So again, you don't have to fiddle with anything externally. You don't have to fiddle with an extra belt or belt loops. You have that adjustability baked in. I'm a huge fan of the degree of complexity it creates when you design a line over that range and the amount of sizes you have to produce. But again, going premium, you've got to get it spot on. This is for a hard-core commuter that wants the best from a fit, protection and weatherproof standpoint.

Now diving back into the pant itself, remember, we talked about 500D main construction, 1000D in your impact areas, in the knees. Some of the other features going on here at the front. Notice, waterproof cargo pocket on the outside. Notice how high that fold comes up. That's gonna fold over. Spring-loaded snap. Nice bar tacking here. Again, premium in its design. Looking at the reflectivity that's baked in. That's 3M Scotchlite. Again, giving that highest degree of detail. Hi-Viz Brian, undo the YKK slide lock at the waist. Notice that that is a slide and a snap together. This is the proprietary YKK slide lock. It's snaps have a tendency to pop off. Those normal slides can come undone on their own guide. There's a positive snap there at the end. Keep that in mind. There's also a gator behind the fly. That's gonna keep things in place, allow you to really, depending on how you're built, have the area to bulge a little bit there. But again, it's a positive locking slide mechanism, which is the best of what we've seen out there. Notice these big beefy, YKK Vislon zippers going 360 degrees all the way around the back. There's also going to be a short connection there as well. I talked about CE level 1 hip armor that's baked in.

The other thing that makes this a wonderful overpant is the fact that the height of these zippers, huge meaty zippers that go all the way up. Notice how high that went, exposing his jean underneath. That's going to eliminate the need for you to take your boots off or your shoes off when you're getting in and out of this pant. And notice the zipper they're using; big, beefy, YKK Vislon zipper. Notice the interior with the tape scene, with the laminated hydratex material. That is a huge investment on their part from a design standpoint to get that zipper, and work its way on the inside all the way up. They've done that. They've added the usability factor for what I have surmised is the most premium overpant we've seen from anyone.

We talked about the pocket along the side. No extra surprises here. Coming down from the side, you're gonna see how far that cinch at the top goes all the way back. We talked about the armor and then working your way down REV'IT! engineered skin all the way down along the side. You do have a cinch. It's a basic cinch with velcro down along the bottom of the shoe. You should be able to work that way in, or down along the bottom of the boot there, depending on how you need to tune it. Clean line across the back. No surprises here. Again, you're getting that 500D material all the way down. Notice the short connection zip-up along the top, and it is a higher than average waist there up along the back. So giving you that support. It's gonna wick sweat away. It's going to have that nice comfortable band or that comfortable waistline that goes all the way around. Come down along the back here again. No frills here. It's a straight leg design. But you have plenty of room to go over your jeans and over a big, beefy pair of boots that you might be commuting in.

So remember, the Commuter Overpant has the laminated material with the hydratex. It's waterproof and breathable. Remember you also have that Seeflex CE level 2 armor, and it's beefing up all of the components from a protection, from a waterproofing, as well as from a functional set. You can tell I am a big fan. But the next step in your journey is to click the info button.
