comfortable, good-looking pants
I really like these new outrider pants from Klim. And I'm really happy to find more gear lately in muted colors/earth tones. I hope the trend continues.

These are now the most comfortable riding pants I own (others: Klim Dakars and a pair of Revv'it jeans) and they look the best too. Like a slightly upscale pair of Carhartt canvas work pants--like something you'd wear even if you weren't on your bike. They're less bulky than most riding pants though definitely not fitted like skinny jeans or something. The dark brown color looks really good. If you're like me and you don't like to walk in to a restaurant looking like you're doing a track day--then you'll appreciate these pants.

I live in San Diego and these are ideal for the climate here. They're probably too light for cooler temps. (This morning I rode in temps ranging from 55-60 and they felt great) You'd probably want something heavier below forty or fifty degrees but on the other hand these will be comfortable even in pretty warm temps, I think.

Zipper, button and snap hardware all good quality. Even the little snaps that fasten front panels that hold knee armor seem like they'd be durable. Really nice feature that you can insert/remove/adjust armor without taking these things off. Makes it really easy to dial in knee armor placement.

The armor is the good D30 stuff. Flexible. Seems to grow more flexible and conform to your knee/hip as it warms up-- to the point that you almost forget its there.

Sizing: I'm tall and thin. 6'2" 185lbs. I wear 32X34 levis. I ordered these in 32 tall. They're maybe 3/4 inch too big around the waist but easy enough to belt them. Really appreciate that Klim makes the tall sizes. These reach where you want them to on your boots, even in riding position--and on that subject, the leg opening of these pants fit over my Forma adventure boots-the tall ones.

I didn't go five stars on the protection/durability rating because I'm not sure these offer the abrasion resistance of other pants--they don't seem to have any kevlar/dyneema/whatever material. But it doesn't seem like Kilm is making that kind of claim for these pants.

They're sturdy but comfortable and they come with good armor. And while they may not promise ten seconds of slide-time on asphalt, at least I can keep the promise made to the wife that I'd always ride in full gear--without having to look like I'm wearing snow gear or a power ranger outfit.

Awesome pant, but quality control could be better.
I'm 185lb 6'3" and ordered the dark brown 34Tall and they fit perfect with a bit of room to spare in the waist. I ride in AZ and these pants are working perfect for the winter weather right now but will switch to a pant that allows some airflow for summer riding. The styling is great, doesn't look goofy gaudy like most "adventure" riding gear. I ride dual sport and like functional style neutral gear. While I do love these pants I wanted to point out that I have ordered two pairs now that both have the same defect. The rivet for the button above the left knee broke the first time I unbuttoned it to access the knee pad. I returned the pant and received another pair quickly and the same exact thing happened with the 2nd pair. I don't feel like going through the return process to have another pair possibly do the same thing. Other than that, its a good pant.

Best casual moto pants I own
I just picked these up and have finally found the set of motorcycle pants I've been looking for. Fit is great. Not baggy, not slim, just normal. These won't be flapping crazily in the breeze and I will be able to fit a boot under them unlike a tapered leg. I bounce between my motorcycle shop, kids school, and family errands and can now throw armor in for a test ride and not have to wear "I RIDE MOTORCYCLES" clothing everywhere I go. Very happy.
Badging is understated...Klim!!!! Make more of your badging discreet and I will buy more. I don't need a bright yellow logo on a black jacket. So glad Klim came out with these and I'll be getting a second pair. I didn't buy these for the track and recognize their limitations.

If you like Carhartt you'll like these.
These pants offer the benefits of armored riding gear without looking like you've just left the track. Comfortable to ride in and walk in, you could easily hike in these as well as ride. I wear 36/32 in Carhartt and TAD Gear, I ordered a 36 in these and they're spot on. These really are like Carhartts with armor.

Yet to ride.
Just bought these from a local shop so I could try out Klim's sizing before ordering their jeans. Like most folks have mentioned they run a bit large, Going with a 36 over a 38 would have left my berries bifurcated in a way nature did not intend so the larger size (my jean size) turned out to be the better option. With a belt they fit fine.

Good every day pants, for multiple purposes
I'm 6'2, 205 lbs, 33 inseam and athletic. I have rather big legs and the 34 normal pants fit me perfect. Very nice product from Klim.
It's fairly priced. It's not too baggy or too tight which I like. With the armor, I can take a ride with a feeling of security.

Sometimes you just want something in between of overall activities. I see myself wearing those pants more than often that I thought. I own a pair of mesh pants and I have a pair of technical cordura gore tex pants. These fits in between in regards of protection

I drive an old Ducati for city driving and a XTZ1200 for adventure riding. To some extent I feel the pants can fit both purposes. There are pants with better protection out there and I recommend something else if you want something waterproof.

However, if you dont like riding jeans, if you want decent protection and casual looking pants for a city ride, or an out of town camping trip (plenty of pockets), or a beer with friends without looking like an astronaut, or just the ability to run other activities than motorcycling, these fit perfectly.

Once at destination, I take off the hip and knee pads and put them in my pannier. then I'm good to go for other stuff.

Got the dark brown ones and I'm considering buying a second pair.

Great Pants!
I have owned many riding pants over the years and the Klim Outrider are my favorites. First they are extremely comfortable. The armor is in all the right spots and not bulky at all, you can barely tell its there. I love the look of them. They look like regular pants instead of "space suit" pants. So when you get off your bike and go to a restaurant etc. nobody can tell they are riding pants. I bought the brown and I like the color very much.
On sizing, I wear a 33x34 in Levi's I ordered both the 34 long and the 32 long to see which one would fit best. The 32 long fit perfect. I don't find them baggy in the butt at all. so I would say they run slightly large in the waist. so far I am very pleased with them

Klim outrider pants
This review comes after 4 weeks if riding and about 1,000 miles. I would definitely buy these again and here's why:

Pros:
Style. I spent many hours searching for the right pair of pants. I'm a PA in the area and needed something that could fly as scrub pants to go with my scrub top. These do the trick. I wear them to work and in the hospital when rounding and yes a few people notice they aren't true scrubs but you have to be really looking to tell. The armor stays well hidden and I take out the knee pads when I get to the hospital.
Price. They are ok the cheaper end for pants and you still get a lot. The material is pretty beefy and you still get the desireable D30 knee and hip armour. The only thing I'd love to see would be a sacral protector.

Airflow. They flow no air. Zero. And the black pants will bake on your legs at traffic lights. But they aren't marketed as great flowing. I live in southern Florida and ride an EBR 1190RX and a 2014 ZX-14R. Naturally the EBR puts off more heat so I get hotter riding that. But it's not unbearable and doesn't make me sweat too much in the high 80s. High 90s in July may be another story but we will see!
Sizing. I measure to a 32 waist and ordered the 32 long. I wear a 34/34 Levi's jeans and fit this perfectly. The 32 long barely fit and I feared gaining any weight. I am 6'2" 190 and athletic build but I go through phases of bulking to lean depending on the workout. So I returned them for a 34 long and that fits perfect. I need a belt for the waist but the legs fit great, marble a little tight when on the EBR due to my knees being bent more.

Overall I would totally buy these again. If between sizes, order up. The D30 is a great addition and being adjustable in the knee is a great touch. Highly recommended as long as you don't need a super breathable pant.

Ok a side note - I am in the same boat as the other reviewer regarding riding gear and the wife. I made the same promise to my wife that I would gear up for every ride and now I can with these as before I was just wearing scrub pants alone.

Pretty sweet
I have other Klim pants for offload and touring but based on the casual style and still safety features it just made sense. Good for the quick run around without feeling to "geared up". I'm 5'11" and usually were a true 31' waist. I bought the 32s... needed to snug up with a belt, but length I really like... generally pants hike up when on the bike these still cover down to the ankle when riding. might appear a bit baggy off the bike but a little cuff extra is usually how I wear pants regardless. Think Carhart double knee in feel and look. Armor is nice as the knee pocket which holds them has a strip of velcro to allow adjustment. Like a canvas pant these will just get better in time. still new for me so can't speak to life and they definitely won't keep you dry so prob would be quite heavy when damp. there is crotch room but w/o that spandex/stretch crotch I'm use to i did notice them being a bit tighter.. hasn't seem to effect my movement on the bike though Just click add to cart and then checkout.. i did and am very pleased overall.

Great Casual Pant
I'm 6'3", usually wear 36 waist x 34 length in dockers, etc. Ordered the 36" Tall and they fit perfect. Plenty of room and look great, stitching and cut are very nice. The armor is soft and have worn these to work once. Definitely considering ordering the Tan or Brown to go with my Black.

My only complaint is on a supersport with the bent legs the pants kind of bind up behind the knee, which at times is uncomfortable. I wore under armour underneath my pants for a long ride for the extra warmth (not quite spring yet here in Oregon) and that also seemed to help a little bit with the binding. I think as they break in should be better.

Overall very happy with the purchase, the sell for me is the hip armor with a lot of manufacturers cheap out on. I expect these to become pretty popular.

I have both the Klim K fifty 1 jeans and the Outrider Pantsn in a 32 waist. The Outriders fit a little large at the waist, bit still look pretty good, and much slimmer than the Klim jeans, whih also fit a little large, but also the legs are much looser, and look like Mom jeans. I like the adjustability of the knee armor in the Outriders. Hopefully, their abrasion resistance, sans Kevlar, will be adequate.

What is the inseam length of the 36 tall?
A shopper on Feb 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I'm 6'3" and ordered the 36 tall. I think the fit is spot on for riding. I wear 36x34 in Dockers.
Has anyone tried treating these with a waterproof spray? Which one and how did they fare in the rain?
Robin V on Apr 23, 2018
how are thes pants for hot weather riding, eg 85-90 degrees or higher?
A shopper on Apr 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Agreed, definitely don't get black. They don't breath well at all, but with a light color and the fairly light material you will be reasonably comfortable. Technical riding pants with good vents would be more comfortable.
Will these fit over the outside of Sidi adv boots?
Erik H on Jun 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes as that is what I have. And that's how I ride with the pants over the boots.
I'm always in between sizes. I wear a 31X32 in Levis. Should I go with a 30 or a 32 waist?
A shopper on Mar 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The waist is roomy, so I would go down if in-between sizes.
I'm skinny - 5'9", 140lbs. Would these look like parachute pants on me? I'm looking for something to wear to work.
Matthew B on Apr 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: They're definitely less volume than a pair of Carrharts. I'm 5'9"/175 lbs and found them to be perfectly fitted and not overly baggy.
Denim jeans that are tight in the waist when new can become quite loose after breaking in. Since these are mostly cotton, does the waist stretch and loosen with time like jeans?
Aaron B on Apr 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Mine hasn’t. I wear a size 36 in carhart and my 34-36 is perfect. Iv worn them probably 20 times and they are fine plus they look great. I bought the dark brown so they don’t get hot in the sun like the black would.
I wish they came in short sizes. Can I have a tailor hem them?
Robin V on Mar 31, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes they could be hemmed. Same as a pair of jeans.
Are they waterproof given the drain holes? Cheers
A shopper on Jan 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: They aren't designed or advertised to be waterproof
If you take out the knee armor, how hard is it to put them back in the same spot?
Aaron B on Aug 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It's easy to adjust the armor, but takes some trial and error to get it spot on... no big deal though.
