Wonderful jacket for indian riding conditions
Hi all,

Would like to address the issue of fitment around the neck for current owners as well as prospective buyers.
Many people have justifiably complained about how poorly the jacket fits around your neck (just below the Adam's apple region) and its tight around there.
Well, that's true. What I realized was there's a way out of it. The zipper has two zips one over the other. The upper one closes the zip as it goes up and the lower one opens the zip as it goes up.
So the problem with the jacket is that it rides up around the waist and then gathers itself around the torso to make the neck area uncomfortable.
What you need to do is just open the lower zip a little, maybe just an inch so that the jacket doesn't ride up. At least it doesn't ride up on me and the neck area is no longer uncomfortable! Very happy with this discovery and thought I will share this with you all.

I have ridden about 6-7k km so far in rain, sun and just about starting of winter. So temperatures around 15 to 40 deg C. In hot weather, the venting is beautiful and you get breeze in the back as well as on your arms.
Its been waterproof so far so I am happy about it.

I have paired it with Klim Latitude pants and they go well together.

I would recommend you get a pair of short length gloves as the cuff of the sleeve is big and you'll need a big gauntlet to accommodate it. Having said that, I have Klim induction long gloves which are very soft and flexible so they typically go inside my sleeves.

I am just about 5'10, 91 kg and wear a 36 inch Levis jeans, 42 size regular India shirt. I bought a size L which may be slightly on the bigger side for me, but I am sure M will be too tight (maybe I am wrong)

The jacket is a lot more grey than the two images shown here, it looks almost white or ash colored there.

Thanks!

expensive, but not perfect.
Pocket on the inside is so small it cant fit a modern smartphone.
The collar is such a catastrophic failure that they should fire the designer. Even as new the collar is impossible to look right. Se video on Zilla. the collar also should have velcro instead of snaps that are impossible to align.

Can use some improvements but still a great jacket
Great looking jacket but the few things that can improve is the arm length. Its a little short compared to my Induction and Latitude.
I'm 5' 9", 150 lbs athletic build.

The collar has two snaps. sometimes it can be difficult to snap with gloves on. I prefer Velcro closure.

The armor is beefy. in fact its too beefy that it restricts my range of motion when strapping down my helmet. Remedy: I swapped out the elbow armor with the Latitude and problem solved.

Although my comments seems a bit negative, it's a minor critique of the jacket. I just want to inform anyone looking to get one and this is strictly my experience. Overall, it's a great jacket and I love it. Would I buy it again, Yes!

My Go-To Jacket
This jacket is shockingly heavy to pick up - not sure what that may or may not say about its protection. You don't notice the weight once you get it on. It is a bit on the stiff side, again you don't really notice this on the bike. There are zipper slits up and down both arms which do offer some ventilation but nothing to compare with the massive gills flaring the jackets sides from breast to rump. This jacket is usable from 0 - 86deg F. For the colder climbs it's essentially a shell, above 86F air flow just doesn't matter - the white might do a little better - I got the black. The fit is pretty much dead on - I normally take a large - I'm 5'10" 180lbs and this jacket fits me perfectly in a large. Adjustments for neck, arms and wrist work as expected. There are two inside left breast pockets the upper, large enough for my Samsung Active S7, the lower about twice that size. Other external zippered, waterproof pockets exist as well. The main zipper is large easily accessible and flows confidently over the nylon teeth. Not quite a 4 season jacket, which is a tall order in S. Florida, but damn close and overall an awesome jacket.

Perfection screwed by the collar.
Very Bizarre Jacket.

Everything is fantastic. Except the collar.

Good points:

Vents quite well in the heat. High 80's and low 90's were fine while moving. Would not want to be stuck in traffic at those temps, but even my mesh jacket is tough to wear without movement. Side vents keep the core cool and the arm vents easily keep air moving up the arms so long as the bike is going forward. Vents are fairly east to operate. Can open them while on the bike - closing requires a stop, but you can keep the jacket on. With one hand, you pull up on the whole jacket - even with it tied to the pants, you get a crease that won't zip. Reach around back with the other hand to keep the waist down and it zips up nice. Comfy all around. In light rain, no problems at all. Heavy rain, see below. Armor sits well, no issues at all. Cuffs are a bit tight, but I worked with them a while and have dealt with that. Just have to fuss a bit to fasten up the glove under the cuff and then close up the cuff. Would have liked some kind of a split to really open it up, but it works.

Bad Points:

Whoever designed the collar is an idiot. The overall height is low which does help keep your neck cool in warm weather, but you MUST have something to close the gap in cooler weather. In heavy rain (remains of Hurricane Jose) the collar does not sit high enough and water comes on down. I've cinched it up pretty tight, and it still comes in. Which is sad because I didn't get a drop leak ANYWHERE else (no idea what the zipper review is all about, but the zippers seal up just fine.) The front of the collar is higher, but is very stiff. Rubbed the front of my throat every time I turned my head. Who needs a high collar in front? The front of the full face helmet comes down and covers the gap. But in back where the helmet is higher, they put in a low collar. Did they even test this jacket?

Its a keeper as I don't ride in the rain that often, and in the dry, from running a heated liner under to vented wide in 93 degree heat, it's been fantastic.

As far as the neck is concerned, I folded over the top of the neck strap a little and used some epoxy to keep it folded over (set a 10lb weight on it overnight) That has made a huge difference in comfort. I still don't get any rain in the front with the shorter flap. The sides still leak in a heavy rain.

Come on Klim, get the damn collar right and you'll have the best touring jacket on the planet.

Great jacket but not perfect
Pro: Amazing protection, great airflow, Gore-tex, good price for Klim product
Con: neck opening doesn't fit right, slides back when riding, bottom adjustment is just weird. True "box" fit.

So, it's a great touring jacket that I'll probably only use for touring. I simply do not understand why the neck opening is made so large...and when adjusted, creates a downward slope where water flows to. The cinch adjustment at bottom I don't understand and it also looks pretty weird when cinched. It was a good price for Klim jacket, and for true Goretex, it's solid for touring.

Bizarre, non-functional collar
Overall a well built jacket but the collar design is very poor and allows wind and rain to penetrate your neck area. The collar is far too short and does not fit tight enough to protect this area. The jacket as well is very heavy and does not compress easily. I would purchase something else next time.

Cool and Stylish
Usually wear medium but followed reviews and ordered a small. Really good fit. Not loose, not tight. Love the looks and comfort. Would have given 5 stars but collar snap is uncomfortable when snapped. Overall a very good jacket for the money.

Extremely Disappointed
This jacket is so uncomfortable I hate wearing it. The main thing that makes it uncomfortable is the neck. The front part rubs against my neck and irritates my skin. I took it to a taylor to have some felt added around the neck area, but the sharp edges still caused discomfort. I then went back to the taylor and had her fold over some of the pieces that were too high, but that didn't solve the problem either. The whole front of the neck is rough and badly designed. It's like it was designed on a computer, but nobody bothered to test it on a human. At this point I'm ready to just cut off the entire neck! Revzilla wouldn't take it back because I'd already worn it on a couple of rides.
The rest of the jacket is ok - not really worth $800. It's very heavy. Though it seems like it probably would do its job protecting you in a crash. Haven't tested in the rain.
Considering how much money this thing is, I'm extremely disappointed. I could have stuff that's just as protective and more comfortable for half the price. My previous main riding gear was Dianese - it lasted me for many years, and was comfortable from day 1. I'm going back to Dainese, though I'll probably just go to a local dealer where I can try stuff out.

When you only want one jacket
I have owned this jacket for a year and overall have been very pleased. This is the only jacket I took on a 4,000 mile trip and I wear it commuting to work. It is a jack of all trades and master at none type of jacket, but it is the one that I always keep in my bike. When it's hot, it's hot, when it's cold, it's cold, but it will protect you in 3 season riding. The built in armor gives a feeling of protection, it has kept me dry in the rain. I am 6'1" and weigh 200 pounds and I ordered a size large. It fits like a set of racing leathers. There is little if any room for additional layers. The cut of the jacket likes being in the riding position. I think an extra large would have been to big. The sleeve length is perfect. The only things that I don't like about this jacket is the collar needs to be secured or it will slap my neck in the wind, It is secured by a snap. Velcro would be much better, allowing for adjustment and the ability to be folded back. The other thing I don't like is the zippers allow cold air to pass through when riding in cooler weather. Overall, I really like this jacket. Is it perfect? No, it's not. But it is the best all around jacket I have ever owned. I would buy again.
