Icon Airframe Pro Pleasuredome 2 Helmet

True diplomacy does not end at the exosphere. When it comes to the delicate negotiations of deep space, Icon goes in guns blazing. The Air Frame Pro Pleasuredome 2 is a shuttle-born salute to intergalactic ambitions. Get yourself a fatty raygun and a cadre of space babes and join in the zero-gravity rendezvous.

The Icon Airframe Pro Pleasuredome 2 Helmet is straight space age insanity. Engineered to be in precise harmony with you, your bike and the environment, the aerodynamically sound handmade composite shell has been designed to promote stability in the sport riding position. Truly a classic in the making, the Airframe Pro is worthy of the top shelf, serving up ultra refined goodness for your dome.

The modern riding position of higher rear sets and lower clip-ons has dramatically altered how a rider interacts with the modern motorcycle. Compressed into an ever more compact shape, the rider’s head positioning requires an increased angle to maintain visibility and stability. The Icon Airframe Pro Helmet has been built on this singular design focus which allows Icon to realize opportunities to decrease drag and weight by sculpting the traditional neckline to avoid jacket or suit interference. The Icon Airframe Helmet's aggressive geometry increases the line of sight while improving aerodynamic attitude in a fully-tucked riding posture.

The dramatically reduced shell profile, comprised of aerospace-grade carbon fiber (FRP) features a track-recognized ECE certification. Precision assembly techniques further this dedication to mass reduction, allowing Icon to craft a helmet that is exceptionally light and peerlessly outfitted. Internally, the traditional three-piece liner has been upgraded to a five-piece liner, providing a greater amount of fitment combinations for each unique head shape. Crown, lateral, fore and aft padding components allow for a possibility of 27 fitment combinations in a single shell, double that of the Icon Airframe's competitors.

Both internally and externally, the Icon Airframe Pro Helmet is optimized for the Angle of Attack.

Features:

  • Handcrafted composite shell
  • Four unique shell sizes for minimized mass and drag
  • Sculpted neck roll reduces jacket/suit interference
  • Five-piece modular liner with moisture-wicking HydraDry
  • Linear ported forehead vents
  • Low-profile vents throughout the shell
  • Fog-free Icon Optics face shield with Rapid-Release release system
  • Prolock positive shield locking system
  • Removable breath deflector and chin curtain
  • All world standard, meets or exceeds the following: DOT FMVSS 218 (US), ECE 22-05 (EUROPE), SAI AS1698 (Australia) and SG (Japan) safety and testing standards. Does not ship with SAI or SG certification stickers unless purchased from an authorized dealer in that country

Close to Perfect. Almost Icon, Almost!
Received the Icon Pleasure Dome 2 Helmet earlier today.
Put about 100 miles in it and wow, this helmet is amazing.
The graphic is outstanding, the airflow is great, comfort is very satisfying. I have slightly larger ears that most helmets tend to irritate. The PD2 doesn't irritate any part of my ears.

The locking mechanism is a bit different, but fairly easy. I purchased the Dark Smoke face shield and intermediately replaced the stock face shield. The vision from this helmet is pretty great. The air vents closest to the eyebrows are a bit hard to find with a glove on. The chin vent is great, massive air flow from it. Easy to find with a glove. Helmet stays steady even at higher speeds.

The one and only downside to this helmet is the noise. I normally ride with music full blast, and the sheer noise from wind was drowning out the music. Before the PD2, I was wearing the Bell RS1. Great helmet, but not enough air flow,
and small pads around the ears.

Over-all, if you're looking for a new helmet and can afford it, get this helmet. Keep in mind the helmet is a bit loud. (For my taste)

Turns heads
I purchased this as an upgrade to my 5yr old Icon Alliance, with Dia De Los Muertos graphic. I've worn other brands but I choose Icons because feel like I get good quality gear for a more reasonable price. I love their aggressive designs, their loud graphics that seem to get me noticed more than hi-viz gear, and because they're an American company and typically sized for Americans.

Compared to my Alliance which felt a little big when I first bought it, the Initial fit of the Airframe Pro feels a bit tight. Unlike my Alliance, I find myself having to slid my hand in to adjust my ears. After a couple of rides though it seems to be adjusting to my dome. Also I played around with the 5 piece liner and like that I can just swap out any of the pieces for smaller ones if it still feels a bit snug.

The weight reduction is a great improvement over my old Alliance. My Airframe Pro is even lighter than my Girlfriend's more expensive RF-1200.

Ventilation is also HUGE!!! This thing flows SO MUCH AIR!!! The placement of these vents is great. All are super easy to operate with gloves. I love how low and streamlined they are too. Again comparing to my Alliance which had vents that I felt were too high and I could never tell if they were opened or not because there was a minimal difference in the air flow change.

Now the whole design is pretty sweet too! The lowered chin provides better coverage. The flared lip/spoiler around the base can be a bit of a problem if you use a helmet cam with a clip; it's not impossible though, there is a sweet spot for mounting such devices. The notched neck is a nice touch too. It provides more comfort in a full tuck but also allows better range of motion allowing you to turn your head farther. I feel like I've also got better field of view

As far as noise level is concerned, it could be quieter. But it's also not the loudest. By far my Alliance is much louder. The Airframe Pro however can be worn without ear plugs for short rides without the dread of sustaining permanent hearing loss.

Over all I'm really happy with my investment. I purchased the Icon Optics Mirrored Silver face shield which I feel also makes the graphic pop!

Great helmet
Great helmet for the money. It fits well, looks great and is lightweight. Very good airflow. The graphics are very detailed and look great. I only have a couple of complaints. 1. It is very loud, a lot of wind noise. I have to wear earplugs. 2. The chin curtain does not fit well or tight and if you turn your head just right the wind will cause it to flap and make this weird pressure sound and flapping. But other than that it is a very nice helmet. I would definitely recommend it, just make sure you wear earplugs.

Nice helmet
the art work is amazing.
the fit needs some work, i measure a medium, closer to the end of sizing but still within the range to have a perfect fit.
it is a bit snug around the crown so i would recommend ordering the loser liner set if you run on the bigger size of a medium

quite small
I'm normally M 57-58cm and I buyed one but after 20-30 minutes my head started to hurt me so I decided sell it and buy another one. I think that the correct size for the M is 56-57CM.

The logo on the side of the stock faceshield, is it transferable to a new dark smoke shield? If I bought this helmet I would instantly switch to a smoke shield, but if I lost part of the logo that wouldn't be very cool. So is it transferable? Thanks.
A shopper on Oct 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes it is transferable. It's a sideplate that pops off. It is not made onto the shield. You can even order them separately in the exact style that matches whichever Airframe Pro helmet.. Ie. Pleasure dome 2, pharaoh etc..
Hi there,

I was wondering if the size is the same as the previous Airmada because I used to ware the XL. Is the new one smaller or the same size?

Thanks.
Nasser Atiq Al-Bader D on Sep 18, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The new Airframe Pro has a different head shape than the original Airframe. The Airframe Pro is an intermediate oval and the original Airframe is more round. As for exact sizing check the sizing chart
