The perfect canyon carver during the day/bar hopping at night jacket
This is the most beautiful jacket I have ever seen. Guaranteed to get a compliment every time! For those of you whom ride a sportbike, but dont want to look like a Power Ranger, but want the features, cut, and flexibility of a sportbike jacket and you love black on black, pull the trigger!

The cut of this jacket is perfect sportbik(unless you are a super buff gym rat, pass this one up). The arms are perfect, fitting super tight against your biceps and forearms, with the wrist falling right where it should. The chest/ belly is nice, not tight, with room to go from 6 pack to dad bod before having to size up. Also, like most euro-cut jackets, this one doesn't show your ass crack in the sportbike riding position with the back protector in!

This jacket features 3 great pockets, very wide and deep, on the 2 outside and 1 inside pocket. And thank goodness, the inside pocket doesn't have a dumb velcro or zipper closure, it just stays open. The pocket is a little close to your armpit, which makes for a kind of long reach. A nice touch is on the top of the wind flap, there's a little Italian flag stitch, a really nice touch. And speaking of the collar, don't bother closing it, it's waaayyyy too tight buttoned up. Ride with it open, it doesn't flap around.

Be very careful which version you choose however, perforated or non-perf. I chose non-perf because every jacket I've owned has been black, and non-perf. I like the look. It's my thing. With that being said, THIS IS THE HOTTEST JACKET EVER. IT FLOWS NO AIR. AT ALL. NOT EVEN IN THE TEXTILE ARM STRETCH PANELS. This jacket is so hot. Any ride above 85 degrees, the struggle will be real, trust and believe. I live in southern California, it gets hot here, and I love it hot. If you are like me and don't like the look of perforated leather except on your 1 pc race suits, consider the perforated version of this jacket. If you go non-perf, you will be reaching for that zipper, which thankfully is buttery smooth!

Once you go black, its hard to go back!
Had this jacket for about 4 months now - I originally purchased a Dainese Speed D1 Jacket, but returned within a week and ended up with the Street Darker instead. Why? There was nothing wrong with the Speed D1, just wanted something sporty, yet conservative, and thats what the Street Darker does it for me.

Lets get the meat and potatoes:

Style department - I pretty much either get compliments (typically the ladies) or dirty looks (Typically from guys who get intimidated and wish they looked 1/2 as cool as i did.).

Performance - fits like a glove (Euro 52), feel confident with all the armor.

I ride a naked bike('14 STR) so the styling and performance just works for me.

Great jacket offering solid feel
I did (just as many here) a considerable amount of research when looking to buy a jacket. I'm a smaller frame guy 5'10 - 130lbs (with shoulders) so I knew I would need a euro cut.

Bought a 44 which was nice in the belly, but narrow in the shoulders
Went with a 46 and while I have (a little) room in the belly, it works with the insert of a back protector much better.

Dainese has such a strong reputation I gravitated towards them.

I wanted a jacket that I could have a track day with, but 99% of the time would be my street jacket, protection was important

Pros
-The leather feels amazing, really amazing
-The quality of the pockets and zipper feel top notch
-The "feel" of protection is superb, I honestly feel very safe with this jacket on.
-It's tight in the right places
-Nice attention to detail and being my first Dainese jacket I'm very happy.
-Works very well with a sport bike.

Cons
-It isn't really a "con" but I do feel the exposed shoulder armor creates a bit of a football shoulder pad quality, but understand that's
A. Hard to avoid considering they are external shoulder armor
B. Due to having wide shoulder / small waist ratio.

-Shows marks EASY
A. Bugs
B. Bird poop
C. Etc
Due to the leather being more matte it can look so nice clean, but not so nice after a longer ride (easy to clean up though).

I haven't experienced any issues with "fading" but also clean all of my gear very often, I would just advise to be punctual with your equipment cleaning and expect it to thank you for the additional care.

Love this Jacket
This is a great well made jacket. I purchased it to ride in cooler Texas temperatures and so far has been perfect for that application. As some of the reviews state, this jacket has almost no airflow.. In the few weeks I have owned it, the highest temperature was 80 and the jacket was a little warm. The lowest temp was around 45 and with a fleece sweatshirt I was comfortable.

The jacket fit is really tight in the arms. At first, I didn’t think the jacket would work but it loosened up a little. However, the fleece sweatshirt is about the maximum I can do before it becomes to restrictive. I prefer it a little tighter so it works for me.

I purchased the Mantis back protector to go with the jacket. It fits perfectly in the pocket but it looks a little weird. (Hunched back) I moved the protector to a backpack pocket and switch it to the jacket when riding without a pack.

Sizing chart is true to size, note tight arm warning, I am 5’11”, 172lbs, 43 inch chest and 31 inch waist. The size 52 fits Perfect.

Cafe Look w/ Moto Protection
I love this jacket because its not flashy. Looks like a well worn brown leather jacket. The shoulder protection is subtle but hints at the racer style of Dainese other race jackets. Same for the emboss demon logo in the back. It's subtle but lets people know its a Dainese moto jacket. Perfect blend of stylish leather jacket and moto jacket. I'm 5'11" 160lbs and I wear size 38US in suits and the 40US/50ER fits me perfectly. Just enough room for me to add a pocket protector or wear a hoodie underneath on those cold days/nights.

Excellent jacket
I really like the look, quality, and safety features of this jacket. I’m 5’11, athletic 185lbs. I bought a size 52 and it fits perfect for me. It’s a slim fit throughout but cut right to be comfortable when riding. To get this fit I had to remove the football style shoulder pads that come with it, but the jacket still has the shoulder metal plate and additional shoulder protection.
Note: this jacket has no air vents, but I have not found it to be overly hot.
If you have really thick arms this coat is not for you.

I am 6’ 172lbs. and I wear a 40 blazer in European cuts. I got a 50 and it fits right. It cannot be worn in temps above 80 degrees Fahrenheit or I melt. I had it on during an 82 degree day and stopped in a store and bought a textile Alpinestars jacket because I had to peel the thing off me. It definitely looks more chill than most dedicated motorcycle jackets and I have no doubt it protects. Definitely makes me look a lot cooler than I am on my Doocati! I got it in brown and it’s broken in nicely in the time I’ve had it ... all that sweat really broke it in nicely.

Quality
Haven't bought a leather riding jacket in 30 years. Did a lot of research prior to deciding. Chose this jacket based upon reviews and brand quality. Ridden in this jacket 4 times now and fit is great. I like the armor as it doesn't take away from the fit of the jacket. Fit is snug, but that's what I want...hits my waist perfectly while seated. The leather quality is fantastic. Can't comment on airflow as I have been riding w/ temps in the 50's-60's so far. This will be a quality jacket for years to come.

I see from the reviews and fine-print that the perf version of this jacket lightens/fades rapidly from UV exposure. I assume that holds true for this, non-perf version as well. Is that true?
A shopper on Oct 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Having owned many leather riding jackets over the years, I see no reason to believe that this jacket will lighten/fade rapidly. Quality jacket that I plan to keep treated. Of course it could fade if not treated correctly.
Does this have pockets for chest armour?
Jack S on Mar 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No pocket for chest protection
Does this come in a perforated version ?
A shopper on Jan 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: yeah but they havent made it yet, its later this year
What do you use to treat this leather jacket? As others have mentioned it is not really a full grain with smooth finish on the surface...on my Dainese Race Jacket I just spray CRC Tannery Leather spray and wipe off, I tried it on this jacket and it absorbed it all right away..nothing to wipe off. It's very porous.
John E on Apr 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I always use a leather conditioner that I apply w/ a cloth. The same conditioner I use on the leather seats of my car. I apply, let dry and buff off. Have never used a spray on conditioner. Good leather deserves the attention to keep it nice.
Does this jacket have a trouser connection zip?
A shopper on Mar 28, 2017
