Very pleased so far. Here is help on the fit.
For reference: I'm 6'0.

Tried on the 52 and it was slightly too large on me, but would probably be fine. Tried the 50 and it fit great, but a little tight.

Bought the 50 because the jackets loosen up to around a size with wearing it (50 becomes a 51ish etc.). Decided to return it because even though it fit great on shoulders and underneath arms, it was a little too short for me at arms and definitely at waist length.

On my race bike (R1), it would be perfect in tuck/full tuck or leaned over on the bars (which I understand is what it is designed for), but as soon as i stood up it rode so high on waist. Especially when standing.

Decided to try the 52 tall as the folks at my local Dainese store informed me the 50 tall was actually a 49ish tall (it indeed felt way too small). And the 52 tall is sold as a 104 by Dainese (52 tall on Revzilla). It comes out to roughly a 52 tall.

Fits a little looser around elbows and underneath arms but the length is tremendous at sleeves and especially waist. Looks perfect everywhere when standing, get tons of compliments. However, when in riding position leaned over bars, and especially when sitting up on bike, it bunches a bit at top of stomach.

My point in writing this is to help anyone else who thinks their jacket is too short. Yes, the jacket might look weirdly short in length when standing, but it will be great on bike.
If you get a size that looks awesome when standing, be prepared for some bunching when on the bike.

Have to weigh whether you want comments all the time (mostly from non-motorcycle people - family, friends) about how "your jacket looks a bit small there" but functions perfect how it is supposed to. Or whether you want tons of compliments and have some bunching when on the bike. I chose the latter and am gonna try to devise a way to stop the bunching.

The rest of the jacket is amazing, the craftsmanship is spectacular (typical Dianese), it is insanely comfortable, bugs come off the leather easy, the armor feels great.

I use the Manis back protector from Dianese and it works great. Another reason why I didn't want the size 50, with the Manis in it felt so tight.

The perforated leather is fantastic as well. I always wear a thin longsleeve t-shirt underneath and I am comfortable down to 50F and up to 90F. Amazing.

Highly recommend, just be aware on how to size it properly. The elbow armor should not move around much and it should be tight around the waist (so it doesn't ride up in a crash).

Finally Dianese is back to athletic fit
My search for a jacket has been exhausting because I don't want to spend for, and ultimately "settle" on, a jacket that doesn't fit properly. I'm 6'2, 200lb, with broad shoulders and a narrow waist and Dianese finally came through with a return to their European fits. I have another Dianese leather jacket for casual riding in size 58 but the waist is too big. Size 54 tall for the D1 is perfect for a race cut built for the street or track. Tall sizes are MUCH appreciated. If you are over 6', I seriously recommend narrowing your options to the tall jackets by Dainese.

Fits great, looks great, protection is great. Expensive, but really is worth the extra $100-$200 to get something that fits like a glove. As others noted, it's not perforated, so it gets warm, but it's also safer and will last longer, in my opinion.

Highly recommended and, as always, shop with Revzilla for by far the best customer service in the business!

Fantastic jacket
Picked one of these up in the summer but since we had a pretty hot couple of months here in California I really didn't have a chance to wear it. Now that I have been able to use it, all I can say is that Dainese makes THE best quality gear on the market. Though a little stiff at first (most leather jackets are), but once broken in, very comfortable. I have worn it on a high 40's early morning ride and it was great. I wore it on a mid 80's afternoon ride, still fantastic. I was torn whether I should by the perforated version or not and I'm actually glad I bought this non-perf version. It breathes well and has decent flow with the vents open. When it's a little cold, close the vents and it keeps you nice and warm. Can you tell I LOVE this jacket?!?!

Excellent Blend of style, protection and function
I bought this jacket to use both as my cooler weather commuter jacket and to be the top half of a two-piece race suit. So far i have only used it on the street and am pleased with it so far. Took some time to break in, like any leather jacket. Protection is in shoulders and elbows is pretty substantial. I use it with a force -field level 2 back protector and plan to purchase the dainese l2 chest protector as well. Over-all very happy.

**Height- 5'9 ** weight 165-slim muscular build size 52 fits tight but comfortable with a back protector in.

Great jacket! Fit is improved over C2 Racing
This is an outstanding jacket. It is expensive, but you are rewarded for your spend. Anthony's reviews cover the details of the jacket and they are spot on. Fit: I am 5' 5" tall, 140 lbs, with an athletic build (flat stomach, bigger/muscular shoulders and arms - but not huge). I have a 38" (97 cm) chest. Unless you are disproportionately tall or short relative to the rest of your body, the chest measurement will be the primary factor for basing your size decision. By the size chart, I should go with a 48. I bought both the 48 and 50 and kept the 50. So unless you have narrower shoulders or average to smaller than average arms, I suggest going up one size from the size chart recommendations. If you have big shoulders or arms, definitely go up one size from the sizing chart!! I love this jacket but it is small in the shoulders (especially in the underarm area) and in the bicep region; that is why you need to size up. That said; the sizing has changed a bit from the Racing C2 model (last year's version) and that's a good thing in my opinion. I just bought the C2 model last year and out grew it over the winter. Not in the belly, but in the biceps! Last year I also went a size up from the sizing chart (50 vs the 48). That is what it took to fit my shoulders and arms, but it was a snug fit for them; fine for the chest and belly. Over the winter I weight lifted a lot and my biceps got big enough that the jacket was uncomfortably tight in the biceps. My arms are no means huge. Take a look at Anthony's in the video. My arms are about his size proportional to my body. If that is the case for you. You will find that the fit will be very tight in the C2 model of the jacket, but fortunately the D1 model is now more generous in the arms so it fits bigger arms just fine now. It's not too big, just right. I wish the jacket was a bit smaller in the mid-section and a bit shorter relative to the shoulder fit, but overall the fit is acceptable. (You need to accept a little bit more roominess in the belly area and even the chest to a lesser degree, to fit bigger shoulders and arms in the jacket.)

Otherwise, I like the other detail changes that were made over the C2 Racing model that Anthony covers in his review. Airflow is very good for a leather jacket. Sure, at 80F+ temps you will still be warm when moving slow or stopped, but it is still reasonable. It would be nice if there was a bit of perforation in the mid-back/lateral region to provide airflow out the back. For cool mornings, I wear a very thin wind blocker jacket under the D1.

Overall, this jacket is outstanding, stylish, and exudes quality. Yes, it has a strong leather smell and I love it! It looks good, keeps you from overheating on hot days, and must importantly provides the protection you should be wearing just in case you need it. Finally, I wear this jacket for street riding and commuting. I think this would be fine on the track paired with leather pants, but it's definitely provides good protection for the street. Highly recommended!

As always, if you have never purchased from Revzilla before. Have no fear. Shipping is quick, communication is great, and returns/exchanges are a snap.

Muscular people beware
I love this jacket. Very stylish, feels rock solid and has nice protection.

My only issue was the fitment. I am 184 cm tall with a 114 cm chest. 92 kg, athletic build. Based on that I went with size 56. Chest and shoulders fit nicely, they were as I expected based on the size chart. Bicep area was a little tight but the jacket has the nice stretch panels and also it loosened up a bit so no problems there.

The collar and forearms are WAY too big. Forearm area is baggy and the collar is just a huge hole. They were too big for me to use the jacket.

Luckily the fitment of the belly area is more like the fitment of chest/shoulders so no problems there.

The fit makes no sense to me really. If someone is so huge that he would "fill" the collar/forearms, there is no way he'd fit in the rest of the jacket. I feel like this jacket has two different cuts going on at the same time - the Italian slim fit and then the exact opposite.

I tried size 54 which was too small in every possible way. I ended up paying 50€ to my local tailor to alter the collar and the forearms on my size 56. It is pretty nice now. The collar was so huge it was impossible to make it "skintight" without ruining the jacket completely.

Do I think it was all worth it? Yes.

jacket is awesome, love it
and i have the one with the big, highlighter-yellow 46 on the front and back, with sweet yellow racing stripes.

the fit is fantastic, even for someone with long arms and a beefy chest. i'm 6'3' and typically wear a size 44 x-long suit but this size 46 fits not-too-snug across my chest and the sleeves come right into my gauntlets.

the quality and protection is evident.

Just as described
I followed the sizing guide and bought size 50. It felt a bit tight at first. I either got used to the feel of an aggressive jacket or it started to conform to me and stretch a bit. It feels great on the bike. It flows air very well for a non-perf leather. Out of the bag, it does have a very strong odor. Hoping that dissipates over time. Overall I am very pleased with the look and feel of the jacket.

In the video it says that there are two versions, what are the sizes for each version and how can I buy them since I only see one size range to choose from?
A shopper on Aug 6, 2014
BEST ANSWER: One jacket is perforated and one is not. Both jackets are the same size. Both jackets are on the webside. Just search for "D1" and they will both appear.
In the video, it is mentioned that there are short sizes, but I don't see them listed in the drop-down size menu. Are the short sizes just not in stock yet, or was this a mistake in the video?
Matthew H on Aug 17, 2014
Hey, where would this fit in the Rider,Speed,Avro Line? Below the Avro? Thanks
A shopper on Oct 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The Racing D1 would fit below all those listed above, but does offer higher end features (co-injected shoulders) than the Super Fast. I actually think it's a pretty good value compared to the Super Speed, lots of bang for the buck.
I'm 6'4 and 175 lbs. Which tall size would probably work best?
A shopper on Nov 3, 2016
Why does he say this jacket is leather and isn't for winter riding? Are you not supposed to wear leathers in the cold weather?
A shopper on Sep 7, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It does not come with a built-in thermal liner like the Arvo does. I imagine that is why Anthony mentioned it.
Will Alpinestars Bionic chest protectors fit in the chest pockets in this jacket? I already have a set of A* bionic chest protectors and they appear to be the same shape/size as the (new) Dainese 2 piece chest protectors but I'm not sure.
A shopper on Apr 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I'm happy to report back that A* Bionic chest pads fit PERFECTLY in this jacket's chest pockets (and are only $40!). I had a set laying around, as well as a Dainese Air Shield G2 back protector. Both fit in perfectly. However, be advised that they do take up significant space in the jacket. I'm a 38" chest (which would be a 48/38), but went with a 50/40 instead and GLAD I did, as with that armor in it, it is now quite snug. My advise is, if your going to put serious (hard shell) torso armor in this jacket, to go UP a size from your REAL chest size (not your "street clothes" size).
The product info and video both refer to the "360 degree" zipper to connect jacket with pants...but it certainly doesn't look like it goes all the way around (nor does the zipper on various Dainese pants, for that matter). Am I missing something?
Brian P on Apr 11, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yeah its not a full "360 degrees" all the way around. It doesn't zip right in the front, which I'm assuming was done so you could unzip the jacket and still wear it.
Is anyone using gauntlet gloves with this jacket?
I'm currently using Alpinestars SP-1 gauntlet gloves and I can't get cuffs to close over the jacket sleeves.
Just wondering what others are using. Thanks!
Noel D on Jun 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I'm using the Dainese Druids ST Gloves with this jacket and the velcro closes 3/4 over the jaxket sleeve. There will be plenty of grab as long as the gloves size isn't to small. The sleeve ends are very slim on this jacket which is nice.
Hi. I am typically in Dainese, a size 48. I have the problem of being tall/long limbed. The arms are always SUPER short (even gauntlets don't help)
my laguna evo in size 48 is way too short. I was hoping to remedy this with a tall size.

q1: Which tall size would give me the chest fit of the 48, but the limb length of a 50+
q2: Is this the only jacket dainese offers in tall sizing?!?
Milin B on Oct 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I'm no expert on the line, but I'm 6-3 and bicycle-riding slender. I ordered a 50T because it's all they had in stock and I almost could have jammed into it. I returned it and waited to order the 52T. The first one seemed great everywhere except the neck. The opening was just to "big and tall" for my build, but the rest was pretty sweet. Reluctantly, I sent it back and asked for a different jacket (still the 52T). The next one was a lot better in this regard (if you search threads you will find this is an issue for Dainese and Revzilla staff will acknowledge it if you bring it up).

Sleeves are long - No problem wearing short gloves. The long cut fits my torso great when standing, but bunches slightly at the lap when riding (BMW r1000SS). Overall, especially now that it's breaking in, it fits pretty damn well. For me, the fit is a little looser, like some of the non-Revzilla demo videos. I like a snug, almost tight fit, but that seemed impossible given the options available, plus there are those that suggest the slightly loose fit is "proper" (plus, of course, layering is easier). I'm thinking about some protector inserts, in part to give me some "snugging" options on warmer days, but it's just musings at this point.

If I recall, they don't make the 48T, so you may have to go through a couple of 50Ts and see if you can live with it...

Good luck!
Hey all,

Looking for advice / direction on the D1. I'm 6'1, 200 lbs and 109 cms as measured across the widest part of my chest. This would put me in a 54 but would that still leave room for a back protector, as the D1 doesn't come with one? I'm at the top end of the 54 range anyway (106-110 cms) I think, so should I go with a 56? Thoughts? experiences?
Also anyone have any pictures of someone actually wearing one of these in the white/black/red. I've scoured the 'internets' and there are no pictures to be had with someone in one. What up with that?
Anyhoo, any feedback would be much appreciated!
JL
A S on May 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have a 43-44" chest and the 52 fits me perfectly with room in the chest in back for armor.
