Great Jacket
Finally, exactly what I was looking for from Dainese...well, almost.

This is a tremendous jacket with a lot of high end race style features and protection in a low key but stylish design for those times when you don't want your gear to be screaming "look at me!".

The mandarin collar is so much more comfortable than the ones with press fasteners and the pops of neoprene at the wrists prevents rubbing and gives a nice, technical looking finish to the sleeves.

The low drop they gave the tail is getting a paragraph all to itself. I love this feature and miss it from my old Dainese Speed Naked jacket (I loved that thing!). Climb on to a sports bike with this jacket paired with riding jeans and it is long enough to keep you being arrested for indecent exposure. They should cut more of their jackets like this.

Even the location of the vents seems much more sensible to my non-technical mind - they catch the wind and direct it where it needs to be (the chest inlets don't always catch the wind in certain riding positions). Speaking of which, I'm pleased to see perforations on the back of the jacket too, an omission in many of Dainese's other perforated offerings.

I have a couple of small gripes. First, the collar rises quite a bit at the back and sometimes folds over itself when I pull the jacket on. I could do with this being just a little less intrusive. More importantly, I find the jacket is cut just a little too generously for my taste in some areas. I'm guessing this is to accomodate the extra room the liner takes up. Like for like comparisons with other Dainese jackets of the same size show it to be slightly more roomy than jackets without liners. I'm guessing most of the time the jacket won't be worn with the liner so I would like them to follow a slightly slimmer cut and forget about offering a liner with this particular model.

Muted logos and blacked out shoulder sliders are very in keeping with the ethos of this jacket. People can still tell it's a Dainese jacket but you don't look like a moving billboard.

Over the last season or two I have felt Dainese were losing their way with design and style aspects of their gear but this gives me confidence in the brand's direction. All in all a tremendous, feature packed, stylish jacket which works for a variety of riding styles and bikes.

Badass jacket
This is a badass jacket. It does fit a bit large if you strictly go off of
shoulder size. Below are my measurements. I hope they help. All are taken with a
measuring tape, except for shoulders.

Me: 5'8", really skinny 135 lbs.
My shoulders - I wear a size 36 suit
chest - 36.5 inches
stomach area - 31 inches

The size 46 jacket fit the shoulders decent, and I had about 1 centimeter of
movement there overall. Everywhere else was clearly too big for me, loose
leather on the arms, chest, sides just because i'm so skinny. If you are more
filled this will probably be alright.

I stepped down to a size 44 jacket. This did solve all of the problems. The
jacket has a nice tight fit at all locations without any muffin topping. Pockets
are also suitable for conceal carry in that there is no visibility if you are in
a state that allows.

Great style and quality
This is a great looking jacket - if you want the protection and look of a modern race jacket without all the crazy euro colours this is it. The quality is exceptional. Jacket breathes fairly well in Sydney summer heat 32 deg - is still comfortable.

Size wise it is a little large. I wear a Euro size 50 suit jacket and am 6" and athletic build and med length torso but went down a size from the size chart to a 48 which is just the right length and is breaking in nicely.

Works and feels best with a gauntlet glove.

All-In-One Jacket!
If you could have only one jacket, this would be it! After getting the new Dainese Pro Shape armor in the mail and installing them into the Fighter jacket, I rode to work (on a "chilly" summer high desert California, 80 deg. day). Good comfort and excellent airflow with Pro Shape installed, good fit overall (despite the fit for inner-liner). The leather feels "broke-in" already and has a restrictive balance between a Dainese City mesh jacket and Super Rider stiffness. Only thing this jacket needs is a 3D Bubble liner for warmer days (90+ deg.), but excellent overall!

Why did you choose this?

It looked awesome and practical and the salesperson was concise and informative.

Was looking to replace my first beginner mesh jacket with something that is a step up. I'm not a fan of 'race' logos and this jacket seems like it will breathe well in the summer. I'm hoping that this higher-end purchase will offer me solid protection, sleek looks and last me for years to come.

Are they planning to do a Fighter leather pants perforated? Dainese are lacking in this department. I want dskin 2.0 for sport touring. The only good option right now seems to be the scorpion ravin pants.

Can I wear this while riding a cruiser? Or is this made for the tuck position?
David M on Jul 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The arms are precurved for the tuck yet the back does not drop down for fully tucked.
What means perforated?
Juan Camilo G on Oct 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Small holes in the jacket that allow air to enter the jacket and cool the rider.
This jacket will allow a CE 2 back protector?
Nicolas P on Jul 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes. I have the Dainese Manis G2 (size 54 jacket). The jacket fit very snug as I planned and I was worried that the back protector would add too much bulk to be comfortable. It fits perfectly, breathes and articulates well, and feels incredibly protective. Highly recommend this jacket and back armor combo
what's the prefer back protection insert for this jacket??
Roderick A on Dec 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I am using a Dainese back protector that I bought on 2015 I would need to take a look in the model number, and come back to you
