Very Comfortable and good protection
I ordered this product because I couldn't find pants that had hip armor, were reasonably priced, and were cut for my skinny frame. They are made out of "smart yarn" that is similar to the new Nike "Flyknit" shoes. While I can't speak to the glitzy marketing claims, I can say that these leggings are the most comfortable thing I've ever worn. They are form fitting and compress my muscles, but they don't clamp like under-armour style tights. On the bike, they totally disappear. Since we seem to be locked in eternal winter this year, I haven't been able to see how they do in hot weather, but I'll report back if summer ever comes.

The pro-shape armor is held in elastic pockets. It is very flexible to the point that when I first opened the package I'll admit that I was skeptical of their protective quality. After some very scientific testing that consisted of punching myself in the hip and slamming the plates into the wall, I can see that they do toughen up when they take a hit. The hip armor covers my hip bone completely and I've included a picture of the knee armor coverage. I wouldn't trust it on the track, but for around town and brief highway stints (which is what I bought it for) I feel protected. I plan to get some kevlar-lined jeans to add abrasion resistance.

Overall I am satisfied with the product. I rated it 4/5 with "average" bang for the buck because I wish the armor had more coverage, especially in the hips. A tailbone protector would be nice too. The Pro-Shape armor does a fantastic job of conforming to your body, so why not include more of it?

Love them
I received these and immediately went on a 1500+ mile trip thru Colorado and Utah wearing them under my jeans. They do fit slightly large but I knew that going into it so I ordered an XS and I am 30/30 160lbs.

The fabric is excellent and kept me warm in the mountains and cool and dry in the desert. While riding you don't even realize you are wearing them and while walking around other than the knee pads they are unnoticeable. The armor could be better but is definitely a huge improvement over nothing; the knee pads are large, cover a good portion of your shins, fit well, and stay in place. The hip pads could be larger but do offer good protection on the hip bone.

I wear slightly skinny jeans and they still fit under them without too much trouble and look the part. I had them on for 18+ hour periods and they remained comfortable. Easy to take out the armor and put thru the wash.

Definitely happy with them and will wear them on most rides. Remember, order small to ensure the armor stays in place!

Good But Lacking
I have been riding with these for a few weeks, and although they have their benefits they also have their shortcomings. The material used is very thin and I am noticing small separations in the stitching. The coverage on the hips is inadequate for any real protection. Every time I take them off, the knee insert falls out, which doesn't inspire confidence if I require these to function in an accident.
I also own the Dainese Norsorex pants and find these to have much better protection coverage and durability. The only real downside is they don't allow as much airflow. So in my opinion if you are not riding in hot weather (80+F°), stick with the Norsorex pants for better protection.

Stealthy basic level protection
I bought these for urban riding and also commuting. The armour is noticeable at the knee, however, I tend to just pop out the armour and put it in my bag once im off the bike. Its not going to save you from abrasion but its good basic protection for times where you might normally not wear anything. I'm 5'10", 74kg and waist 32" - I bought the medium and they fit well. would recommend

Good for around town
Ordered these for some light protection commuting around town. So far, I'm happy with the pant. They fit snug, but not overly tight like Underarmor. The protectors fit in pockets on the outside of the pant, so they are realativly comfortable. When on the bike, you can't tell they are even there. I am 5'10, 190. Usually a 32 waist and a 30 inseam, and a medium in these fit perfectly.

I believe these will protect you in a low speed collision, or a parking lot drop. But, I would not trust them to protect me in the canyons. Just not built for that.

Overall, I think they are a good piece to add to your gear bag.

Great Under Armour and Base Layer
I bought these largely for commuting. With a 32" waist the Medium fit very well. They make a great base layer for colder days and the stretch material is very comfortable for long trips. The knee armour sticks out a bit but the pants are comfortable to walk in. The hip armour seems rather small though, so not sure you'll have much protection during a high speed crash. Often find myself wearing the pants underneath the Dainese Hard Shorts E1, where I'd remove the hip armour but retain the knee armour under jeans. Great buy and value. Would order them again.

Great fit. Well constructed. The armor plates for the knees and hips remove/return easily; this is important, since the long-john like "pants" are a snug fit and would be difficult to put on without removal of the knee armor. I don't use the hip armor - just looks aesthetically unappealing when I throw my jeans over them. I hand wash them after every use. They've held up well over the last dozen rides since purchase. I recommend them. Thanks - B

What are the main differences between this product (Dianese D-Core underpants) and the Dianese Norsorex underpant? It seems that this offers the same protection with better airflow. Anything I'm missing or is this basically a summer version of the Norsorex?
Ben R on Mar 30, 2016
I'm 6'4" and 240 pounds so sizing is always an issue for me, especially length. Would be nice if the knee armor actually covered my knees. How do these pants do for length?
Eric C on Apr 12, 2016
It says abrasion resistance, will this protect my skin from road rash in parts other than knees an hips? So no need for kevlar jeans?
Abel M on Mar 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Found on the Youtube Video for this product:

Q: Could I wear these under normal jeans and have sufficient abrasion resistance if I took a spill??

A: No. Even though the D-Core Armor Pants have impact armor, that only helps with an initial impact. They do not offer any true abrasion resistance like technical motorcycle jeans or motorcycle pants. I recommend you take a look at our Riding Jeans Guide for some options. -DrewZilla
I did not see a sizing chart and looking for a pair to put under kevlar jeans. I go 6'2", 200. My normal jean size is 36/36. What size would you recommend?
