Perfect quality little black number sure to outlive me
As Revzilla cannot deliver to my area but I always value their reviews and information in English, I thought I would return the favor.

Waited a while and just received my Alpinestars Brera today in Europe.

Leather thickness and grain, YKK zips and details are excellent and heavy duty quality. Weighs quite a bit so feel pretty invincible when you slip it on.

Sizing - I'm 1.76 meters with 42" chest, 32"waist, took size 52. Although perfect for on my motorcycle the sleeves are 2 cm or so too long for casual wear. Smaller snaps on wrists shortens sleeves and sure wear will also improve fit.
Back and elbow gussets really help for flexibility on motorcycle as my shoulders are a bit big.

Delivered with all CE certified and removable Bio Armor shoulder and elbow protectors., but not with back protector.

Airflow might be a challenge so if you plan to overland through the Sahara then maybe consider the Airflow version.

I have been looking around for a while now for a timeless, non-flashy, not over-zipped and buckled quality leather jacket and this ticks all those boxes and some, including WA (Wife Approval).
Sure this "little black number" will serve me for many decades and get a few compliments along the way.

Don't overthink it...

Bro, do you even lift? If you do, don't buy this jacket!
Background:

I ride a Yamaha Fz-09, so fairly upright. My previous jacket was the Spidi Ring jacket which is also 'city inspired' but it was time for an upgrade and I thought this might be it. But now I'm not so sure.

Reason: fit is OFF. If you're even semi-athletic who weight trains this jacket is going to be snug in both the armpit area and bicep.

Reference: I'm 6'1" 185lbs 42.5' chest. I bought a 52 and if you have lats of any kind (swimmer, gym bro, tennis star) this jacket is going to fit snug in the armpit area like I mentioned above. My biceps are 16" and they barely fit into the sleeves. You can forget about layering. I wore a button up underneath this jacket on my 30 minute ride home and I wanted to peel this jacket off me asap, my armpits were pinched so bad.

Also another thing that bugs me about the jacket, (yes the sleeves are a tad long but I have long arms so it's perfect) but its the dumb practically useless wrist button. It adds bulk and never gets snapped into the tighter position. And if you did snap it into the tighter position it's too bunched up to be comfortable. If you wear gauntlet gloves, it will be a bitch getting them over the sleeve of this jacket. If you wear a big face watch, and gauntlets you'll eventually start to dread this jacket and want to throw it into the trash bin.

Last two gripes: When I'm 3/4 semi-tucked the front of this jacket bunches up stiff making it uncomfortable. I have to physically flatten it out every time I lean down. And the high collar means head checks are going to dig into your throat and I don't even snap the collar.

Don't get me wrong it does feel, smell, and look amazing. The shoulder gussets are a nice touch and the two tail zipper gussets do work customizing fit and temperature control. But if you're looking for a jacket that lets you just focus on the road and not the nuances of itself ---this isn't it.

Style for years to come
This jacket came on my radar thanks to the Revzilla gear guide but because I'm from Europe it made more sense to buy it locally (shipping costs, customs, ...). However I do want to write a review on the product because there aren't that many yet.

Personally I'm 185cm (6 ft 53/64 in) tall, 102 cm (40.2 in) chest and 82 cm (32.5 in) waist. So quite a slim build. I had to order this jacket because it wasn't available yet but had the luxury to try other Alpinestars jackets. In those jackets I was more leaning towards a size 54 (euro) but the store ordered a 52 and 54 so I could try both on. Turns out this jacket runs a bit larger than the others so a 52 (euro) worked out perfectly for me, a 50 would have worked aswell but then I wouldn't be able to wear a sweater under it.

The perceived quality is top notch, I've only had it for 3 days so I can't honestly say to much about it yet but it sure looks like it has been built to last and it doesn't seem like they've cut corners anywhere in making this jacket.

If you want a good looking jacket with great protection at a reasonable price, look no further, but I wouldn't wait to long or they could all be sold out!

My perfect leather jacket
I will start by saying that I have a hard time finding jackets that fit well due to being relatively tall and skinny. This jacket is a dream come true for us lanky bastards. The sleeves are nice and long. I have a 40 inch chest, 6'2, and very long arms, and this jacket in size 52 fits me beautifully. I will say, if you are of more normal proportions, you may find the fit to be a bit aggressive and you may want to look elsewhere.

The quality of this piece is very impressive, especially for the price. Very nice soft leather, solid and positive feeling zips and fasteners, and of course, the jacket is just plain sexy.

The protection feels very adequate for city riding and commuting, especially after adding a back protector, however it could be a bit better. I wasn't really looking to buy a highly technical or track jacket, so this is perfectly fine with me.

All in all, I have no real complaints and am 100% satisfied.

Darn good looking leather bike jacket
The size 56 jacket fits me perfectly, I'm 6'3" and 210lbs with a 34 waist. The jacket is very understated and I even wear it casually having removed the protectors. Very happy with this purchase.

Fit is definitely not standard!
Let me starts off saying that I love how this jackets looks, and I wanted nothing more than to keep it. I wanted this to be my "lookin' good" jacket. Moderate protection, but excellent aesthetics in a "classic motorcycle jacket" format.

My normal leather motorcycle jackets is a "Alpinestars Jaws Vented Leather Jacket" in size 54. So makes sense that I simply ordered 54. The fit was good/great, but the sleeves were waaay to long. If your tall and thin, that would be great, but for me, it was obviously not going to be comfortable. I consider myself normal (don't we all?) at 5ft 10in., and some 180lbs. Normally a size Large.

So since size 54 wasn't going to work, I returned it and ordered size 52. The fit was ok, but the sleeves were still long. Returned it, and ordered 50. The sleeves were just about right, but the arms were beginning to be tight enough to restrict movement, and I was beginning to doubt that I would be able to put a back protector in there.

At this point I pretty much resigned to the idea that this jacket wasn't going to be for me. I can't say I have ever had this issue before with any jacket or shirt, but paying top dollar for a heirloom quality jacket that doesn't quite fit right doesn't make much sense. Were it a racing jacket, maaaybe you could argue that it should fit tight and the normal give of leather would leave a smaller size comfortable, but considering this isn't going to be my racing jacket, comfort was the priority.

I'm sure there will be some taller people for who this jacket is what they've always been looking for, and that's great news for them, but sadly, this jacket simply isn't for me.

Greaet Jacket
Size Chart and Video worked perfect for getting the correct size. The jacket is form fitting but not too restricting especially after the initial break in. Very comfortable and looks great, feels great, smells great. Armor is not obvious at all.
I got the brown and it is a darker brown similar to tobacco as described.
I bought the non-perforated Brera and it does block the wind pretty good but is comfortable in warmer weather (80's and 90's New England) as long as you are riding. Standing still it gets pretty hot.
Very happy with the jacket.

My first jacket.
If you need a good looking, general purpose jacket, look no further. It's filled my room with the wonderful smell of leather, and it feels like it'll outlive me. Ordering based on the size chart will get you the classic, slightly baggy leather jacket look. However, if you have an even remotely athletic frame, order it a size smaller. I jump up 2 points in attractiveness every time I put this thing on.

Very nice jacket not build for shorter guys
I have just purchased and will be returning. I have a broad build and larger chest but not excessive. I'm only 5'8" but ordered a 52 which is what was recommended by the sizing guide. But after donning the jacket the sleeves were 1.5" too long. I looked like I was shrinking in the jacket. I feel a size 50 would have been too tight on my chest while not shortening the sleeves enough. I'll just have to select a different jacket that will hopefully fit my body type better.
On a side note, I ordered the brown jacket. DO NOT BE FOOLED by there depiction in the photos. The "brown" is so dark it's practically black. (In the video it is more accurately shown. I thought they were demo'ing a black jacket but it was the brown like they said.) If you're wanting a brown jacket because you prefer brown over black don't buy this one. Most who see it will think it's black.
The jacket does look well made and the leather felt amazing. It's just not the one for me.

"Developed in Italy, made in India"
If it didn't have a tag that said "made in India" I would certainly never know. The quality is top notch. I got the brown and was pleased to see that it's a very dark brown. Uncharacteristically of Alpinestars, the logo is very subdued. The leather is fairly thick, yet soft and pliable. The zippers are high quality and each one has a nice leather tab to make them easier to find.

The fit is true. I'm 5-10, 205 with a 44.5 inch chest and 34 inch waist. I got the 56 and it fits perfectly. However, it may be a little tight with a back protector in. I have an Alpinestars racing jacket and it's a 58 but I use a heavy back protector in it. I do have long arms and the sleeves are long for just standing around, but seem just fine for the riding position. I am a little surprised at the overall size of the sleeves. I many times have issue with jackets being too tight in the shoulder and arm area, but this one has plenty of room for my arms all the way down to the wrist and has room for a thick shirt underneath.

The only things that could make it better would be a removable liner and a little bit more slim fit in the forearms and wrists. As I said, I have long arms and it's still perhaps 1/4" longer than they need to be for me. Guys with average arm length are going to find these sleeves long.

How do you think it will hold up in the rain?
Joshua M on Mar 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The zips are pretty good quality and have a little flap on the inside and as there are not a lot of other openings I'm sure it will keep you pretty dry.
Will not be my first choice to take into a torrential downpour but then again I'm sure you wouldn't want to possibly destroy this thing of beauty either...
Normally wear size 52. I am planning to buy 50 as most of the reviews suggest that going size down is essential. However, which size of KR-i protector should I buy? Large or Medium. Will a large KR-i fit in the pocket of 50 jacket?
Erkan Y on Jan 26, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Read my review before you go down in size.
How does this compare to the Roland Sands Ronin? (Value, quality, and quality of armor)
A C on Apr 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This will depend on what you want to use it for and is highly subjective.
Based on what I have seen of the Roland Sands Ronin, the Brera is more timeless and straight forward with a thicker leather. Keep in mind for your personal fit - Because of the Brera's back gussets it allows it to sit better and expand when you reach forward on your motorcycle.
The Ronin looks more technical with better breath-ability.
I made my choice.
How thick is the leather?
Kevin A on May 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It's not very thick, but feel durable!
Can I replace the back protector other than alpinestars nucleon back protector?
A shopper on Jul 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: There is an approximately 9 inch wide by 17 inch high pocket for the back protector, so no probema if your current protector is smaller.
If you buy the jacket, you're gonna love it.
In the video the BLACK version of the jacket looks almost like a really dark brown? Is it like that or is it a trick of the lenses with the jacket being a more true black color?
James F on Jul 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The dark brown looks 'almost' like a black jacket in certain lights (if it's not sitting next to anything black it will read like black) but think the video might be the black jacket. "Tobacco Brown' is a good describer of the brown color. Very beautiful color brown. As a note on color - It leans more toward a "cool" dark brown, and not a golden brown. Will look really good on you if you have dark brown hair, and looks great with a pair of jeans and dark brown shoes.
Hi I'm 6.1' 200 lbs 45"chest should I follow the size chart? I read that the jacket runs little bigger thanks
dariusz l on Oct 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: sleeves run long, torso runs thin. Good for tall skinny guys, and athletic build can probably pull it off also.
Can it be zipped with leather pants? EX: Dainese Pony C2
A C on Sep 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The jacket has no zippers for attachment to leather pants.
