This will probably surprise you as it did me, but this is not actually a scene from Spurgeon's recent riding vacation in Colorado.
Instead, it was Rick Hogge, a Texas man who was riding with some friends on a narrow and rocky trail near Crested Butte, Colorado, when his front wheel hit a rock and he was jolted over the side of the cliff, plunging into the stream he estimates was 60 to 70 feet below. Amazingly, he wasn't hurt at all.
"My front tire shot to the left and when that did my throttle hand activated the throttle," Hogge explained in an interview with Denver TV station KDVR.
