Seven-time world champion Carl Fogarty broke 10 ribs and a shoulder blade when he high-sided this weekend during DirtQuake, proving once again that you can take the racer out of the race but it's harder to take the race out of the racer. Even the retired ones. Even when it's racing "for fun."
You may remember we reported earlier this year that DirtQuake, the off-beat flat-track racing spectacular, had gone mainstream with a television contract in Great Britain.
The racing took place this past weekend and the show will air on British TV Wednesday. Fogarty posted a photo from the hospital on Instagram (later deleted). Ten broken ribs sounds painful, but I suppose it may do wonders for the TV ratings.

DirtQuake, indeed. Figure that's about a 5.0.
