Following announcements by the MotoAmerica Superbike and Monster Energy Supercross series, American Flat Track has unveiled plans to hold a full 18-race season by putting on nine doubleheader rounds beginning in July.
AFT announced a new schedule that starts July 17 and 18 with the Volusia Half-Mile in Barberville, Florida, and winds up back in the Daytona Beach area October 15 and 16 during the Biketoberfest rally. The locations of three of the rounds are still undetermined and the races currently on the schedule all take place in the eastern half of the country, with the Springfield Mile in Illinois being the westernmost venue at the moment. Events in California, Oklahoma and South Dakota have been canceled.

While the first MotoAmerica race and all of the Supercross races — both starting this weekend — will take place without fans, AFT is hoping that it will be able to allow fans into its races. AFT said the following restrictions and safety measures would be in place:
- Reduction in ticket availability to conform with state and local guidelines for sporting events
- Reserved seating areas to include buffer zones to provide ample space between fans
- Fans entering the venue will be provided with complimentary facial coverings
- Enhanced sanitation and disinfection protocols with frequent cleaning throughout the facility
- Enhancements to mobile ticketing and elimination of printed tickets
- Cashless, contactless transactions for concessions and merchandise
- Regular medical screening of staff and competitors
Autograph sessions and paddock access will be eliminated. Fans who bought tickets for canceled events or bought paddock passes can request refunds through the AFT web site.
Like last year, the AFT races will be televised on NBCSN and all events are streamed live via TrackPass on NBC Sports Gold.
