AGV is a premium Italian brand who has been manufacturing motorcycle helmets since 1948. AGV Helmets have had a strong presence in the racing world, being worn by the legends of yesteryear such as Giacomo Agostini, Barry Sheene, Kenny Roberts, Johnny Cecotto, Angel Nieto, and Marco Lucchinelli and is the helmet of choice for the legend of today: the current legend: Valentino Rossi. An AGV Helmet will provide comfort and protection in a range of riding conditions and the aerodynamics of the helmet will provide a stable and reliable platform for both street & track riding and the MX line of AGV helmets will perform exceptionally well on the dirt. In 2007 AGV merged with Dainese. RevZilla considers the AGV brand to be among the top competitors for premium motorcycle helmets currently available.

Aside from their historical significance, AGV wields a wealth of functional significance within their broad model spread. The AGV PistaGP and Corsa stand at the top of the totem on the heads of some of the world's most prestigious racers, however, the AGV Grid and GP-Tech Helmets bring up the mid-range category without compromise. If you'd rather be winding through the alps than on the track, the AGV Skyline fits the bill with an internal sunshield and a plethora of creature comforts. The Horizon stands arm in arm, simply adding a different aerodynamics package on the same shell. The K4 Evo satisfies the "entry level" category for AGV helmets, but these are still far from a "bare bones" approach. Aside from the traditional full-face, AGV also supplies the modular category with the Numo and the open-face crowd with the RP60 and AGV Diesel Hi-Jack Helmet. Moving from street to dirt, the AGV MT-X and AX-8 models fill out the rougher side of the sport. If you take a closer look at the AGV AX-8 Evo line, you'll notice the introduction of a "Naked" version that brings much of the style and form of a Dual-Sport Helmet to the street. The absence of a "peak" allows the AGV AX-8 Evo Naked Helmet to feel more at home on the highway than its dual-sport counterpart and the EVO Naked Carbon Helmet offers a seriously lightweight, all around mean looking addition to the line. Additional members of the AGV team can be seen with the K3 SV and GT Veloce helmets that offer an entry-level and premium street/touring option respectively.
