Scorpion Yukon Jacket
Scorpion Yukon Jacket
Crossing rivers, knee deep mud, eleven days of solid rain. The Scorpion Black Emperor Yukon Jacket is designed for adventure riding or long distance touring in cold, wet climates. A waterproof / breathable membrane that has been laminated to the exterior fabric has been carefully and fully seam sealed to make this garment waterproof on the outside. No waterproof liner is needed.
The exterior of the jacket is a combination of 500 denier nylon for the main body material, and heavy duty 1680 denier nylon on the forearms, elbows and shoulders. But when the weather turns nice, multiple huge vents on the forearms, biceps, side or torso, upper back, and kidneys can be opened up to make this a very ventilated flow though jacket for warmer temperatures.
Four external seam sealed waterproof pockets on lower torso, two large “camera holster” pockets with load bearing anchor points for lanyards or retractors for keys or cameras, two forearm pockets, and one huge rear cargo storage pocket means you can keep your valuables or clothing layers with you when exploring. Four internal mesh pockets, as well as a hidden passport / money pocket keep valuables safe and hidden.
The collar is trimmed with Nappa calf leather, and the cuffs are trimmed with neoprene. A tall, removable, storm collar with neoprene trim is included for when the weather gets really nasty. Large amounts of NightViz reflective on shoulders, upper torso, neck, side of torso and lower back make it easier to be seen at night. Waist belt, dual arm adjustment straps and bottom hem elastic help the jacket fit and seal out the elements.
Sas-Tec CE certified viscoelastic armor is used at elbows and shoulders. Elbow armor is infinitely adjustable with our new VELCRO® brand closures hook molded directly into the pads so they can be positioned exactly where you want them. Sas-Tec level 2 CE certified back protector as well as a Sas-Tec CE certified CP-1 chest protectors are also included for maximum impact protection. A fully functional, vertically adjustable, and removable kidney belt is included to offer support and additional lower body protection for those long days in the saddle.

Reviews & Questions
The suit does not disappoint. It doesn't suck either. In fact, it's awesome.
First, I feel like I'm bullet proof in this thing. There's armor everywhere, but somehow I still look sexy. That's probably because it's cut way slimmer than my (high priced competitor's name here), which fit me like a box (and because I tend to think I look sexy -- especially so when outfitted to traverse the gnarliest terrain this earth has to offer). The only downfall to the slimmer cut is my massive biceps are a little squished, but let's face it, I run hot, so most of the time I've got all the vents open anyway...and it's a perfect fit with the loose zippers.
Hit some rain a few weeks ago. Didn't get wet. Which is a solid testimony, because when I say "rain" I mean torrential downpour, and when I say "hit" I mean twist the throttle and hit that sucker like like a punching bag. I used to get water down the back of my neck all the time in my "gore" jacket...but waterproofing doesn't do a thing if the neck doesn't seal up right with your helmet. And once it's in, it's everywhere you don't want it to be. The Scorpion kept me dry, which surpassed expectations.
Downfalls? Of course there's downfalls. For one, it's got short legs, but upon calling Scorpion I have learned that I can let the seam out to make the pant longer (but I really don't care, I wear big-boy Sidi Crossfire's, not loafers on my way to Starbucks). Next, as mentioned it's not the same fit as I was used to, which was baggier than my eyelids in Vegas on a Sunday morning; however, as a result the armor stays in place MUCH better on this Yukon set -- which I dig, because I crash like I live: hard (probably good to note that I had to go up a size though to make the jacket fit right, pants were the same size as usual...big shoulders on this one, just like my ego). Finally, I don't like the lining inside the pockets...why? I don't know why, it just bugs me.
So there it is, a review. This is a really good suit for the price, figured I'd tell someone about it other than my wife. Happy ADV'ing.
After having the commander Jacket for over 6 years I am sorely disappointed with he performance of this jacket, and will probably have to go back to my commander jacket (with very little armor) to commute in Seattle in the dark all winter.
I wish I would have saved my money or could return this to revzilla or scorpion after discovering it is falsely advertised as waterproof.
-Armor, armor, and more armor
-Venthilation for days
-Overall quality is top notch
-Fitment is goofy. I'm 6'1, and 130 lbs so I went with a small -out of fear of medium being too big around the body. The sleeve length is a little long, and the fit in the shoulders is pretty tight. But the barrel is spot on.
-"Waterproof" I bought this to handle the winter riding in the pacific northwest. It's a robust coat, and while the vents on the coat let in a little water, overall it did not impress. After a 30 min ride to work in moderate to light rainfall, I was soaked from my shoulders to my stomach.
Overall I would highly recommend this coat, purely based on the armor and robustness of the coat. Fitment is a little off, and "waterproof" is hardly applicable. But I will be wearing this thing till it falls apart!
I'm 6'1" 185lbs, athletic build and size large fit perfectly, room to layer underneath when cool, or cinch the adjusters and open vents with just a t-shirt when warm.
The amor feels substantial and well placed, although it is quite stiff when I initially put the jacket on. However, after a couple of minutes it conforms to my body/warms up, and is very comfortable.
Haven't tested the waterproofing yet, the reason I bought the jacket was to do away with carrying separate rain suits, but have not had it rain yet while wearing. Based on others reviews and the zippers and seams, I am confident it will perform as advertised.
Storm collar and kidney belt are great extras.

I ride an RSV4 and Multistrada 1200, so I was looking for rain proof gear that would look good with either bike. I also wanted to be able to add in mid layers for warmth, and open the zippers for direct ventilation.
The jacket fits me well, I'm 5'10", 160lbs, with an athletic build. It took a while to get the elbow armor in place, but it feels pretty comfy once I did (not as comfortable as my leather jackets, but does seem more bombproof).
The styling is cool, I feel like it could with everything from a dirt bike to a super sport. It has a ton of pockets, including the kangaroo pouch on the back which is super helpful. Ventilation seems good too, but so far I've only ridden in cold weather. Seems weather proof as well, but haven't ridden in rain just yet.
Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a laminated shell without having to use a waterproof liner.
Have a good time, Peter
Given that this is a laminated shell design, sewing won't work, as it will cause perforations to the waterproof membrane. Any suggestions for how to get my patches on there well without sewing? Thanks!
this is Peter from Switzerland. I used a very flexible glue for fixing a ADV patch on my right chest side. I used this method also on other jackets years before. It's a good solution and it's sticks sustainable without any negative consequences for the laminated shell design.
