Much Less Wind Noise, Slightly Less Everything Else Noise
(First Ride Review)
I was hesitant to spend $30 on a set of ear plugs. I usually ride with foam plugs from the drugstore. And those work great but then I added a Sena unit to my helmet and I couldn't hear it at all with the cheap foam plugs in. I tried some silicone plugs with a port in them from the sporting goods store but they were uncomfortable and really didn't block enough noise.

So I took the gamble and spent the money on the NoNoise plugs. So far they're great! Wind noise is reduced to a moderate roar. And while the perceived volume on the helmet speakers is certainly reduced, it's not muffled at all. I get the full range of tones from my music which is a big improvement over the other style of plugs I've tried.

I don't have any problems inserting or removing the plugs. I can see how if you have large fingers and/or deep ear canals they might become difficult to remove but that hasn't been an issue for me. A fishing line tether or a pair of tweezers seem like they'd be a good work-around in that case. I haven't worn them for any longer than an hour so far but they were perfectly comfortable for that length of time and didn't move out of place.

Overall, I would certainly recommend these. Are they going to make you feel like you are cruising along in your living room? No. But they do a great job of blocking wind noise and not much else. If anything changes after I get some more time with these I will come back and update this review.

Very close to the next big thing.
Ear protection for riders is one of those things that needs a radical rethinking, and these plugs are a step in the right direction. They do all the things they say they will, but none of those things are done perfectly.
-They block bike and wind noise... but not so well as the better foam plugs. (Much better than those cheap purple and orange cone-shaped ones, though!)
-They let voices and helmet speakers be heard... but they still block a good bit of that, too.
-They are easy to put into your ears... easier than foam for sure, but you gotta be careful or they can be a bit painful.
All that said, they are very good and I have been wearing them on every ride. With foam, I would often go without because of the hassle of trying to get them in just right or because I knew I'd need to hear someone talking. I love the little carrying case. It hangs on my key ring and makes it easy to remember to use them. I don't have any trouble removing them as others have mentioned, but I have pretty skinny fingers.
All in all, not yet a perfect solution, but I haven't found anything better.

A great product that provides comfort, protection and the ability to communicate a the same time.
As a long time rider (40+ years) I know I have some hearing loss due to my riding. I have been wearing ear protection since 1978 and have tried every new product I came across with varied results. These ear plugs are a winner. I find them comfortable and easy to install. The unique inner passageway and valve closes off noise, but allows normal conversation while wearing a helmet. Expanding foam plugs, correctly installed do not provide this for me. Also, rapid changes in elevation do not cause the plugged head feeling for me either. I feel these are well worth the price paid. The case is great also. Tight o-ring seal that tightens securely, with a ring to attach directly to your key ring. Highly recommended as is the superb service of the revzilla team.

Very effective, nice case, easy to lose if dropped
I really like the feel of these plugs. They are soft enough to wear comfortably for hours, and short enough that they don't touch my helmet speakers. My only complaint is that the color blends right in with gravel if you drop them. Sure wish they came in bright orange!

Simply: They work as advertised
Bottom line: I was initially spending so much on ear plugs, especially when you can get six sets of foam plugs for half the price. I purchased these and have since put about six thousand miles on my bike with these in my ears. They work as advertised, work much better than any foam set I've ever used, and are worth the cost. After 6k miles, I'm thinking about replacing these- they deform and stain over time.

Pros:
- Noise: They block wind noise and dampen motor noise. Foam works by reducing all sound frequencies- these are very selective, meaning you hear more of your surroundings and less road noise.
- Fit: Snug fit without interference from full faced helmet.
- Durability: When compared to foam, they last a long time.

Cons:
- Fit: The same reason they fit well means they can be difficult to remove, especially with excessive amounts of ear wax. I had to use tweezers once out of the dozens of times wearing them. Key is to push them in ONLY as far as you have to.

...I heard that.
Inevitably, you put earplugs in around your friends and immediately they start making fun of you... They think you can't hear them with these in...

But that's the thing.... You hear everything but the road noise. It's really odd and hard to explain. You just have to get em, and try it yourself.

Ironically, after the ride you can say something snide or sophomoric to your friends, and they'll respond with "WHAT?!"

Just smile. You'll have your hearing later in life, and be the idiot among the deaf idiots.

Incredible
Cuts the outside wind noise greatly but still allows for communication/music/gps directions to come through clearly. Very happy with them.

Great product!
bought these for all of the riders in our family for our road trips and we all love them! Takes a little adjusting in your ear but they make the ride much quieter. Wind noise is almost non-existent but we can still easily hear thru our communication system. Highly recommend!!

Nonoise is right
I bought these a few weeks ago and have used them ever since. They are very easy to use and cut down on the outside noise and noise from a helmet considerably. Yes, they are a little pricey but I think well worth it considering the noise that is cut out out and the comfort and ease of use.

Good product, no great! Love them and better than anything else that I have tried. Sure makes a difference in hearing what's important and not the wind or Stage 2 aftermarket pipes roar.
