Icon Raiden DKR Monochromatic Jacket

DuPont Teflon coated and seam sealed, the Icon Raiden DKR Jacket is designed to shrug off water and thick brush with ease. Vent zippers have been relocated to avoid moisture buildup but still provide maximum airflow. The main zipper features a gusset and a magnetic storm flap, and Icon made the Thermolite liner thicker, but with TechMesh panels built in for more efficient core regulation and more athletic fit. The Raiden DKR Jacket’s Hycor chassis provides all the waterproofness and crashability but with less fatigue during extended rides. Removal of excess snaps, zippers and pulls further decreases the weight of the garment and enables an enhanced fit. For diehard dual sporters requiring the most durable shell for the most punishing riding conditions, the Icon Raiden Jacket will take a whippin’ and keep on rippin’.

Fantastic Jacket
I've got a lot of motojackets and picked this one up because I wanted a longer "ADV" style without spending the big coins for a Klim. This jacket truly impressed me. It's water fighting capabilities are MMA level. I rode through a Coastal Carolina downpour in it, and a good storm that had me wishing I had rode my U-Boat instead of a GS... I got good and soaked. But when I pulled into the garage, and starting shedding layers, I found that I was perfectly dry. The jacket protection feels like it's going to be on par with my other jackets, but I've not had a Get Off in it - so I am only making an educated guess as to that. Riding in December - it can be rather cold in the mornings, but I've not felt cold at all in the jacket.
Taking out the liner, opening the two vents on the chest, I felt plenty of air...
This is a great 3 Season jacket... Maybe not ideal for the swamp like heat in the peak of a Southern Summer, but it's awesome for the rest of the time.
Not only would I buy this jacket again... I'm considering picking up a second one.

I'd only improve one thing
you can see from my rating that I love this jacket. I only have have one very small quibble. On very hot days you'll need to open up the collar a bit as well as all the vents and the cuffs. I'D LOVE to see a snap that would recieve the collar snap so that it doesn't continually slap the helmet.

Everything else about this jacket rocks. I don't look like an astronaut when I get off the bike. It kills in the cold, the rain and the dirt. You can use it on hot days, but mesh it is not.

Tons of storage and it balls up into a surprizingly small bundle if need be.

I hate wearing bulky ugly motorcycle gear when I can just wear hoodies and wind breakers. So I needed a jacket I liked the fit of and that provided enough utility or I would never wear it. I love the fit of this unlike most motorcycle jackets (its a little more normal of a fit and not so short at the waist) and it keeps me very warm which is plenty of motivation to choose over a hoodie.

I choose this over the icon basehawk because it was warmer, and didn't have any leather

Excellent modern Rally-style Jacket
I purchased the the Raiden DKR about six, seven months ago, mostly riding in urban environment, soon will enter dirt again.

Fitting:
The Jacket runs up a size, so make sure to take that into account. The Revzilla video helped me a lot in the decision to figure which size I needed to order.

My height is around 179cm, , chest ~101cm, arm ~84, and the M fits great on me. In winter with the liner installed fits snug while having an extra layer.

Style:
The Jacket looks great, surely stands out, while ICON is true to their style, and hardly no ICON presence in Israel.
Very sleek, ADV/Rally look.

The cut is aggressive/off-road looking.

Features:
Multiple pockets, including the back pouch pocket which is a blast! Every zipper is waterproof. Multiple air vents work great during hotter times, even with liner installed.

The monkey paws are great during colder times, but wish they would be attached to the inside liner, instead to the main outer shell. heads up ICON.

The magnets at the front flap are an excellent and nifty feature, makes things much easier.

Durability:
Heavy construction, no crash testing(knock on..) so far.
Might opt for the CE2 rated D30 protection, but the gear now is very flex and provides good protection would seem.

Waterproofing/temperature control:
Rode this jacket in heavy rain, bone dry inside, but the outer shell does absorb the water and needs to dry off later.
As for cold weather, min. temps rode with were around 5c, and with the liner installed provided excellent protection and kept me warm inside. The liner is excellent.

Overall, I'm very glad I purchased this jacket, the only cons I have is perhaps the monkey paws being attached to the outer shell, and the closure at the neck, could rub a bit against the neck area.

Thanks to the guys at Revzilla with all the assistance at the purchase, great CS.

read great reviews, talked to some revzilla guys about the jacket and as of style I rather have a less billboard jacket for my adventure bike. I just hope the fit is awesome.

I love the Raiden DKR family, but I wanted something more subdued... The DKR Monochromatic looks fantastic and less flashy than the rest of the Raiden series... It's almost the perfect jacket. Rode it through Fall, Winter, and Spring with no problem. The weather protection (southern rain storms) is truly impressive. And with the liner zipped into place and the vents closed... no problem through the coldest days. I love this jacket.

I wanted a tough dual sport jacket to wear year round. This seemed like the way to go!
