Amazing Jacket for the Price
I don't think you will find a better jacket for $150.
I am 6'1" and 165-170lbs, so tall and on the slim side. I normally have to choose between Med (fitting in the chest, short sleeves) and Large (sleeves fit, but big in the chest). I went with a large on this one, but it wasnt too baggy in the chest area and the sleeves fit perfectly, as well as the shoulder fit. I was a little concerned about not having straps to cinch down the waist area, but it doesnt flop around, even at sleep, and doesn't look like its too big just standing in it.

With that said, the only negative thing I found about this jacket was the inside pockets that the shoulder armor fit into. The armor pieces themselves are good, but the pockets they go into are too big and they slide down your arm. At first I thought I should have gotten a Medium, but the actual jacket fit perfect over my shoulders. Should be a somewhat easy fix but sewing up the bottom of those pockets but I haven't done it yet.

I have worn this jacket in the cooler temps and hot (I live in North Florida, so by cooler I mean 50s so far). with the liner in, a long sleeve t-shirt, this thing keeps me perfectly warm. I could probably ride even colder than that with a hoodie on under it.
Hot temps since I have gotten the jacket have been around 85, and with the liner out, t-shirt on under it flows plenty of air to keep me from sweating. A little warm at a long red light, but welcome to Florida...

I didn't care about not having external pockets and like the clean look. I put my cell in the upper left pocket and my wallet in the bottom right. The placement of these pockets are perfect to not have these items be annoying when riding as I have had on other jackets.

So I decided to give you guys the ultimate review and go ahead and crash in this jacket LOL. I went down at about 40MPH, hit some asphalt and tumbled/slid about 20-30 feet.
There was some slight marks/discoloration on the elbow area of the sleeves but hardly noticeable (even with the red/white/grey color) and absolutely no tears in the fabric or seams/stitching. Armor did its job, no bruised elbows or any road rash.

Not sure about you but I put that in the win category and would definitely buy this jacket again or recommend to others.

Comfortable, but not necessarily on the pavement.
Recently, I fell in a corner while wearing this jacket and doing 60 MPH. The initial fall was on my left arm. The elbow and shoulder armor held up, but I burned a hole in the forearm portion of the sleeve and received moderate road rash. I also burned a hole in the left shoulder, but the armor protected me. After the initial fall, I slid and rolled for a few hundred feet. The rest of the jacket held up great. The only damage to my upper-body was my forearm where I initially fell.
Aside from protection and durability, this jacket is very comfortable. I stayed fairly cool while riding even when it was 80 F. I stayed fairly warm around 65 F, but I never got a chance to try the liner.

Crash Tested
So unfortunately I had to crash test this jacket.. I was driving about 40 mph on a road with no streetlights I came across a tree in the middle of the road and did not have enough time to react, when I did react, I grab the front brakes a little too hard and I went down on the left side. I slid and I tumbled.. luckily I am okay and am only a little sore with a sprained hand and a sprained shoulder from how I put my hand down when I hit the ground. The only damage to this jacket is a small left hole on the right elbow, and you can see the D3O armour through the hole.there is skid marks on the jacket and one small part where the threading got ripped from the impact. I absolutely recommend this jacket. It saved my skin and possible bones! after hitting the ground at about 40 mph i think this jacket is awesome. btw, i own the black and it has style!

Did it's best
Well i wrecked hard about 3 weeks ago. i was going around 55mph (the speed limit) when merging on a friends bike that i wasn't used to and the guy in front of me after my shoulder check was hard on the brakes and i almost rear ended him but i panic braked and the bike flipped over i went over the bars and it landed on me and hit me in the back i did suffer from some broken bones but i'm not paralyzed and i do highly believe that if i wasn't wearing this jacket i would be.

Im new to riding so the overlord jacket is awesome.I have a joe rocket mesh jacket my buddy gave me but it is not near as nice as the overlord. I love this jacket. Im in mississippi and was riding around in 95 degree heat and high humidity and was fine. Even at a red light it wasn't to hot.

Bang for the Buck
Great jacket for a peaceful ride in hot weather. It lacks protection but can't expect much more for this price. I don't recommend this coat for aggressive riding. The main reason I am writing this review is the the orange coat is very orange. The photo above makes the orange coat appear as a red orange (far closer to red than orange). Again, it is bright orange and it will clash if red is what you are really looking for. I learned this the hard way and I hope that I keep others from making the same mistake. Revzilla was kind enough to understand my mistake and send me a free return shipping label. Making a similar mistake at MotoMummy would have costed me approximately $30 (they remove the initial free shipping, you must pay return shipping, and restocking fees). Thanks Revzilla! You guys rock!

Really excellent jacket with just one or two problems
This jacket I think is one of the best jackets you can get for the money. It looks great, it has D3O armor on shoulders, back and forearms, and the textile feels durable.

The airflow is pretty good, I gave 4/5 because the mesh sections do let a lot of airflow through, but my back still gets very sweaty with the armor and I can't do much about that. I've also worn in colder weather with a sweatshirt underneath. That's great and works really well, though air gets through the zipper to chill my chest a bit.

The one thing I really wish this jacket had was a tighter fit. The arms are really very loose, which makes it look a little baggy (not my thing, but maybe for other people). The other affect this has is that the arm and should armor kinda floats around a lot. Usually the forearm padding is past my elbow, so I have to shift it in order to cover my elbow, and the should armor tends to be a little far down my arm also. Maybe I could've used a smaller size, but in general, everything else fits really well.

If I crashed and lost this jacket, while I would certainly recommend it to somebody on a budget, I would probably spring for a Dainese textile jacket (partly because style/matching pants), but also I think the european fit is better suited for my body and style preference.

Very good air flow.
This jacket is light, comfortable, and flows a ton of air. I bought this jacket as a substitute for my leather jacket on hot days. Best decision I've made in a while. I find myself wearing this jacket more often than my leather one now. I also love the stash pocket. The only complaint I have is the thumb loops aren't very comfortable. I usually just ride without using them. I can't vouch for the durability during a crash *hopefully I'll never have to* but the armor seems like it would do a passable job. It definitely doesn't feel as protective as a leather jacket but that's to be expected. Overall, if you are thinking of getting this jacket, do it. You won't regret it.

Hi, I'm 5-10, about 225 lbs, with wide shoulder, what size would be the best for me in the Overlord jacket?
A C on Apr 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: im the same size as you and had to go with a 2xl in this jacket
I'm only 5'7" 110 pounds, would the small fit me best ?
A C on Nov 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It should I'm 5'9 &130pounds and the small fits me
Does this jacket provide a good amount of protection?
A shopper on Apr 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It comes with shoulder, elbow and back armor. I haven't slid 50m on a highway with it, but it feels substantial enough. The armor pads are a little thinner and more flexible than my tour jacket, but I like that as it makes the jacket a bit more comfortable for short trips (which is what I use this jacket for).
I am also wondering about the Orange color jacket... I like that red/black look. Is it really red/black or is this an image mistake and its really orange???
A shopper on Oct 6, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Its most definitely Orange, and some of the black parts were actually white. I returned it for a different color.
I'm 6'4", 190lbs and am generally tall and skinny with longish arms. Should I get a large or extra large? I definitely want the sleeves to be long enough.
A shopper on Feb 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I'm about that same build as you at 6'5" 200lb. I originally ordered a large but felt it was a bit tight on the shoulders and a little short on arm length. I'm happy I switched mine out for a XL.
How do I properly wash this jacket?
Hunter A on Sep 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Personally I just take out all the armor first. Then just zip it up, put the cycle on delicate, warm/cold, low spin, then hang dry with a fan blowing on it.
Does this jacket have zippers in the back of the jacket to connect it to a set of pants or a belt? Also would the REV'IT belt zip with this if it did have a zipper on the back of the jacket?
Austin W on Jul 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No, it doesn't. The jacket is pretty short - it just comes down to my belt, but no further. I have a longer jacket I wear for long trips that will zip into pants. I use this jacket more for short trips or cruising around town.
I'm 5'9" and weight 135. I'm not the biggest build and am pretty lean. Would a size M be too large without anything but a t-shirt underneath? I do not want the jacket to be too baggy but also do not want too tight of a fit in a Small.
Samuel F on Jun 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I'm the same. Perfect fit. Small will be too small.
I am 6'3 and weigh 220. I workout so I am a fairly thick. I wear an XL shirt. Should I go with an XL or 2X?
Zack M on May 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I'm about 5'9" and weigh 170. I got a L. It's not a loose fitting jacket design so the L worked for me. I'd go for the 2X and see how that fits. At least if it's a little too big you could still wear it. Free returns if it's too big.
So in an instance where I fall and slide, how well with this jacket protect from road rash?
A C on Feb 16, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I think it really depends on how fast your traveling. I feel confident this jacket would hold up well up to about 40mph. Anything north of that would probably overwhelm this jacket as it would almost all textile / mesh jackets. If you're looking for something with great protection and reasonable air flow I would look at perforated leather. As far as other mesh and textile jackets go, the Icon Overlord is definitely up to par and then some with the included D30 armor already installed.
