Great Jacket.
I've had this jacket (yellow mil spec) for over a year now. Super high visibility. I can spot my buddy who has the same jacket a good distance up the road. The reflective material really catches the eye during day and night to for safer riding. Pretty decent in the summer as long as your moving. Did well in the winter with the liner and some base windproof layers. Did not feel cold in riding in upper 20's lower 30's with liner and some base and windproof layers. Drys pretty quick if it gets wet. Will buy another if this one ever gets destroyed.

Look at me now...
Other drivers are definitely going to be able to spot you wearing this jacket. Air flow is amazing, fit is accurate, and its very versatile. I use it in 100+ degree down to low 50s with a thin hoodie underneath. Pricing is definite jump from the original contra, but you get alot of hi-viz+reflective panels. If you want to be seen its a good choice.

Great Looking and Very Comfortable!
As an enlisted man that works with a lot of officers who ride, I was looking for a jacket that was within regs, no questions asked. Since, anyone who's military knows, if an officer asks "Is that in regs?" that means it isn't, no matter what. So, this will definitely fit the bill on if you want a jacket that's guaranteed to be within regulations.

Aside from that, I was a little skeptical about getting this jacket. I didn't want to look like a highlighter or a glow stick when I was looking for a jacket, but this thing is pretty beast looking for what it is. Definitely has a sport look while being the brightest thing next to the street lamps.

It's incredibly comfortable and conforms very well when you get on a standard sport or super sport. It's a little longer in the back to keep you visible to vehicles behind you and to keep a breeze from slipping down your crack @ 70mph. Onto the topic of air flow, this thing is great. Definitely keeps you cool in warmer temps. Rode it in 40 degrees today, though, and even though it's a good liner, and you can do it, I wouldn't necessarily recommend going on the freeway with it. Might get a bit brisk.

I would have to say, my only complaint, is that there's no clasp at the neck. Not a big deal, the zipper hasn't gotten pulled apart or anything from riding extended periods of time, but I just wish that was something this jacket had.

All-in-all. Great jacket. Feels stable (haven't wiped out yet, can't comment on the padding), very visible, and will definitely be in regs if you're military.

This jacket does its job !!!
This jacket saved me a trip to the hospital and weeks of recovery!!! I let my guard down in rush hour traffic a few weeks ago and this cager cut over into my lane (hi-vis is no match for a cell phone) and knocked me hard to the ground at 30 mph. The rubber accent on the shoulder acted like a brake to slow my slide as it protected the fabric from abrasion, the armor stayed in position and the sleeves didn't ride up. Although sore from the initial impact, thanks to this jacket, I walked away without a scratch. Wish I could say the same about my Aprilia Shiver. Luckily my insurance fixed the bike and replaced the jacket!

Great late spring, Summer, and early fall jacket.
I ordered this jacket in Hi-viz because I wanted to be seen and in combination with the plentiful reflective stripes it is hard to miss. Everyone has bumper stickers and signs that say "Start seeing motorcycles". Lets start by allowing them to more easily see us. Jacket is very comfortable. I gave it 4 on features as the wrist closure is a little large and I wish it would close tighter. I also wish it had forearm and bicep adjustment to keep the protection solidly in place. Jacket flows massive amounts of air. If it below 70 degrees, wear your liner if you plan on traveling at highway speeds. I gave it a 4 on durability and protection because the stitching on my right cuff has pulled free. This is most likely from the Velcro on my gloves snagging it. I would also like to see it with d30 or some sort of CE rated back protection. It comes with a temper foam back pad.

gets cars out of the way!
i commute by bike 2-3 days per week, and wanted something more visible. the hi vis & reflective material is all over the place here in a good way, when first saw this jacket I thought it was electric; I don't know how to describe it but on occasion cars actually move over for me or change lanes just to let me pass. So the hi vis does its job! I also ordered the Rev it Tornado HV to compare, but the Icon had a better sport bike fit (more give in the back and elbows when leaned over), a bit more room in the collar, and very importantly not as restricting when wearing a backpack. the material looks and feels super durable, and co workders have even said "this jacket looks cool" and my kids & wife also voted for the Icon over the rev it. My only fault is on the fit. I'm 6'1'" 185 (tall/thin), and the Med was too short in the arms, I got a large, but its just a bit roomy in the chest (not quite as fitted as I like). Good venting so even in the 80-90 degrees in So Cal here it will be very wearable. included a back pad which I also thought was a good value

This jacket fits well and has good air flow.
I decided to wear my Icon Contra Mil-Spec Jacket for the first time at 70 degrees and took out the liner. Should have left it in. The air flowed through very well. I am 5' 10", 190 lbs and it fits me well. I like the cut of the jacket for the slightly leaned forward riding position. I'm not crazy about the large ICON logo though it's worth doing some ICON advertising for the comfort and fit.

Superb Comfort & Style!
Just received my mil-spec Contra jacket and it's my favorite jacket now. The fit and comfort is top of the line and I can now be seen from afar. Definitely not Euro-cut so it's made for the American physique. Just a few critiques:
The wrist opening is larger than most mesh/textile jackets but it didn't flap around once I wore short gloves. The backpad that it comes with is pretty useless so I recommend upgrading once you get the jacket. I purchased Icon's D30 back protector and feels great. The volume waist adjuster is the one thing I'd change: my arms would sometimes catch it while walking around but it's not that much of a hassle once you make yourself aware that it's there on the sides.

Excellent styling and comfort and breathability. In my opinion this is the best styled Hi-Viz jackets currently being sold.

My main jacket now
Before I ordered the jacket, I was rocking the Mil Spec Vest. Although it was good, I wanted more visibility on my arms so I decided to get the jacket version.

This is the best jacket I have ever worn, not only is the visibility eye catching, it's also comfortable and the fit is tailor made for me. I will probably get an upgraded back protector in the future.

If you're a fan of HiViz this jacket is a must have!

If you want to be seen and want to look good!
I had been looking at hi-viz options mostly for commuting, but most of the jackets had only some hi-viz accents. It seemed like the only option was a hi-viz vest causing me to look like a highway or construction worker. This jacket is comfortable, hi-viz, reflective, and good looking! It retains all of what makes the Contra jacket such a winner but with the extra safety built in. The full sleeve thermal liner offers the rider a wide range of temperatures to use it in.. It does still get a bit hot in 80*F+ traffic, but that's okay.. its definitely doable. For extremely hot temps I go to my Hooligan Spaztyk.
I'm not quite sure what justifies the extra $45 on top of the regular Contra.. seems to me maybe $5 or $10 would make more sense, but IMO the jacket is a win if you want visibility and style. See my video for the full review.

Hello,
What's the difference between Contra and the Contra Mil-Spec models?
A C on Sep 8, 2016
Ok, so I live in Florida so ALL jackets are hot. However, does this contra vent well? And I'm not military, but I live in Florida. Retirement capital of the US, so I want to be seen. Old people try to (and do) kill us. Does anyone else that is non-military wear this jacket?
John W on Jul 6, 2014
BEST ANSWER: G'Day John... good idea to be seen as the driving population ages where you ride. Highly recommend this jacket being in Aus and family in the outback can be 40 plus under a gum tree, beers are cold though and the iicon is comfortable with plenty of the breeze flowing around. For your part of the world reckon it will be a wise choice and as a high viz jacket, not only well speced but looks cool! Safe Riding & All the Best... Greg
Is the back protector upgradable? If so, what fits?

BEST ANSWER: Great jacket and use a forcefield under it and is very comfortable, there is room to replace the existing one though.
Hey guys, I just bought this jacket and a Shoei RF1200 Beacon. Unfortunately, the colors are off in real life. The Shoei is a more yellowish, and the jacket is a greenish hue.

Does anybody have a hi-viz helmet that matches really well with the jacket? Thanks!
Matt B on Jan 22, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have a Shoei Neotech with hi-viz graphics and it matches pretty closely

My chest size is around 38-40 so I'm planning on getting a MD. But I'd like to make sure if this jacket runs large and should I then get a SM? Thanks for your time.
