Held Solid Dry Gloves

The Held Solid Dry Gloves give riders the best of both worlds. The two chamber design allows you to ride dry when it rains and cool when it's hot. Aside from the versatility, the Solid Dry Gloves are immensely protective. The Taslan, cowhide and kangaroo leather construction offers a unbeatable comfort and abrasion resistance. SAS-TEC knuckle protection is also included, as well as SuperFabric reinforcements.

Great two-season gloves. Price makes sense when on sale
No reviews yet and I am usually loathe to buy something without reviews but did so anyway. Figured I would fix the lack of reviews.

I have a good amount of gloves. I have winter AlpineStar gloves that are huge and puffy; I have Gerbing heated gloves for the bitterest of temps; AlpineStar track gloves for, well, track and aggressive riding; I have BMW GS gloves for rainy days and intermediate weather; and I have Icon fully vented short gloves for the hottest days of summer.

My BMW gloves are getting old and sometimes leak water. They also a bit warm and not the best for summer riding. I was looking for something with good protection, good fit, and water proof. Something to wear in the spring and fall when the mornings are chilly but it gets warm in the day. Something that can be worn in the summer for rain protection. Something that can be used for all-day touring. I didn't want a bulky, insulated glove, as I already have that.

I think these fir the bill. Let me first say that I don't like ill-fitting gloves. Gloves are always hit and miss. I wear a medium in Icon, a large in BMW, and an XL in AlpineStars. Don't ask. I ordered these in a size 9 and had to return them for a size 10. The 10 is a tiny bit tight but it "fit like a glove" and already is starting to break in to my hands.

There is some airflow with your hands outside of the waterproof liner. My S1000XR has hand guards, so airflow is probably more pronounced with a bike without hand guards. The liner is not as bulky as other Held gloves, as it is not intended to be warm. That is why I like them.

Gloves seem to have good protection although as mentioned, there is no slider on the pinky or other race bred innovations. Plenty of protection compared to your average touring glove. I like that it has a rather long gauntlet that is not bulky. This lets you pick if you want it over your jacket or under and creates a good water seal.

Overall, I am happy with this glove as it fills the two-season need that I have for it. Quality is the usual Held quality (very good, albeit pricey) but on clearance it is a great buy. I say grab a pair while you can!

Held Solid Dry Gloves NorCal
These substantial gloves suit me well in the fall, winter, and spring, especially in the crisp mornings getting warmer throughout the day. Still get decent feel even with the Gore over the palms; decent airflow with the perforated Kangaroo. Excellent safety and comfort with the Sas-Tec that fits my knuckles perfectly, along with the other reinforcements. Fit is slightly small as I normally wear a 10 using tape measurement but need an 11 with these (and with the Airstream II which I am using the rest of the year)

A good pair of protective airy summer gloves such as the Held Airstream II, and a good pair of multi-purpose/season protective touring gloves are all I really need for my BMW R1200GSA riding gloves. However, I also like and use the BMW Motorrad GS short gloves, and the Touratech Guardo Enduro short gloves.
