Everything I expected and more
This is my first adv touring jacket so take this review with a grain of salt.

I bought the XL to fit these measurements:
Height: 72"
Chest: 44"
Waist: 42"
Weight: 210 lbs.

The fit is really perfect. I took it out of the box, pulled of the tags, and put it on. Everything was int he right place, it zipped straight up, and I was set to go. With a few minutes of adjusting it got even better. I ended up starting with the thermal layer out and it's even a bit loose. But the level of adjustment in the arms and midsection make up for a variety of builds, I believe. Fitment gets 5 stars for me.

My first shock was the overall comfort. I'd heard from friends that these all season touring jackets worked well but weren't at all comfortable to wear. Imagine my surprise when I slipped this on and it seemed like a finely tailored suit; despite being heavy and stiff, it doesn't bother me to wear in the least. No pinching any where, no bunching up of the liners, and it moves along with me nicely without restricting motion too much (the armor does prevent too much articulation of the arms). Another 5 stars for comfort.

there are pockets galore and all are pretty easy to access even with gloves on. The Napoleon pocket is huge! I fit my phone, backup battery, charging cable, and wallet in there and they had room to lay side by side so it didn't add any bulk. There's still 4 more pockets just on the outside; you could fit your whole house in this jacket. Yes that's hyperbole. Point is there's lots of room in all those pockets.

Liners are easy to get in and out and work individually if you felt so included. The thermal liner doesn't zip up by itself though so you'd probably wear the Drystar and thermal liners together if you were going to use either as a destination piece. Both are perfectly comfortable as well.

In all, 5 stars for features.

It's currently 40F in northern Utah so I can't speak much for airflow or cooling. It kept me plenty warm for an hour in the brisk evening air though. I'll write a followup next year when it's warm (I probably won't actually, so someone else can talk about air flow).

My wife says the reflective panels aren't near enough, and don't reflect much light anyway. I didn't buy it for the visibility, but I suppose it's worth noting that you won't outshine the sun when headlights hit you. If you care about that sort of thing.

Bottom Line: I love it so far and I'd buy it again. Highs are comfort, fit, and storage. Lows are, well, I'm not sure there are any. I think it's awesome and I'd buy it again.

Just what I wanted
I've now started riding longer into the winter and needed a jacket that was waterproof and warm. This jacket fits the bill. It fits snug and tapered like you would find in a good suit. It is not baggy design at all which works for an athletic build. A heavier set guy might need to look elsewhere.

It keeps me warm down into the 40s without anything more than a T-shirt. This is good, because I'm not sure you could fit anything more than a good thin long sleeve ski shirt underneath without pinching your arms.

The only think I don't like is the collar, it rubs my throat a little and haven't yet figured out how to secure it so it doesn't.

Solid performer
I needed to replace my 25 yr old Hein Gericke leather jacket now that I am riding again, mostly commuting in SF Bay Area.

I was looking for something understated, no super graphics, and did not make me look like a super hero. Wanted something I could wear to work and not scream "biker". Also insulated, good protection, fit and all the usual stuff.

I looked at several jackets and ordered two. The Valparaiso 2 and Aether Skyline. The Valparaiso was the clear winner.

The Aether had great styling, very understated. However, too expensive for the quality, not quite the Armani level I was expecting for the $, Lacked insulation and questionable weather resistance.

Valparaiso 2 was a better fit. Very warm in 40 deg weather. A ton of well thought out and executed features. Styling is a bit techy but in all black this largely goes away.

Size Large in both. Aether was a bit big. AS fit well, almost snug with insulation.
5'-10", 180", 42 chest. 33/15.5 shirt.

Revzilla customer support was a big help in narrowing down the choices.

It'd be great if it fits.
GIven a 1/5 for comfort because it simply did not fit me.

I'm 6'1'', 200lbs. I'm a natural XL. I received this jacket and the matching pants today in XL, but boy, was it a tight fit, and thats an understatement.

The jacket comes in three layers that lock together with zippers via the chest opening, and velcro tabs behind the collar, and snap buttons in the cuff of the sleeves. You can wear it as an outer shell alone, or as a dual layer with the included lighter insert, or with all three layers; outer, insert, and the heavy insulated base layer.

I tried on all three combinations of the jacket. Firstly, straight out of the box, the full cold weather mode with all three layers was extremely tight. I may have to go up two sizes to 3XL to fully utilize the jacket in this combo.

Then I tried on the jacket with just the outer shell, which carries the CE protection. It was still a little tight, around the chest and the arms holes. I usually wear Italian cut suits to work, and this jacket felt even more on the 'slim fit' spectrum than my work suits. To wear this as a single layer, I think I will have to go up to 2XL for comfort. But the whole point was to get a multi season jacket to wear in any climates, hence, I think I will have to reorder this jacket in 3XL. I also plan to upgrade the armour, which will be thicker.

Hopefully I wont be swimming in the 3XL.

I think Alpinestars really missed the mark on the sizing.

If you are normally and XL I suggest you go 3XL to so that the jacket can be used as it was intended.

Cheers.

Straight out of the box Size issues
First adventure jacket, this is mainly a fitting review for your size. Just got my second jacket today, first was about a week ago. Ordered the large and had to get the XL. Chest was good on large however the issue was in the arms with all liners in. It was very tight almost to the point of cutting off circulation with the large. Just put on XL and with all liners it's a night and day difference. With all liners installed it feels more like a nice winter jacket. Full range of motion with no issues. Will be sending the large back and keeping the XL. Sleeve length and chest size are good, don't feel like I'm swimming.

About my build, prior service Marine and Army, currently a PMC. Would not consider myself a big guy but athletic build. 5'11 or 72 inches. 170 pounds. 32 inch waist. Chest not entirely sure, but most of my military uniforms are a medium 15 1/2 altered for fit. At least a 42 chest if not a little bigger.

I have the Valparaiso 2 pants in a medium and the fit is good though a little snug in the thighs.
Most my shirts are med to large this is my first XL anything, so when ordering take your arms into account... my contractor stormtech jacket is a large, and I suggest ordering a size larger if you have an athletic build. Very nice jacket so far, each layer feels comfortable, the waterproof layer does feel a little like plastic but doable and shouldn't be an issue with all the ventilation this jacket offers. I did order and install the Alpinestar KR-2i back insert protector Level 2. Install was easy and it doesn't feel very intrusive with jacket on. Only thing left is to take it out for a ride. More to follow

So far, so good!
Paired with the matching pants, I have really enjoyed this product so far. I have ridden in temperatures down in the mid-30s and have been totally warm, and in the heat the air flow is great with all the vents opened up. I wish it had come with the proper armor in the back and chest for the price, but I guess maybe some people don't want that stuff? I also wish it were easier to clean.
