Akrapovic Linkage Pipes are a great addition to your Akrapovic Slip-On Exhaust. Contributing to even greater exhaust flow and back pressure while increasing horse and torque. A special process known as hydroforming is used in the manufacturing of the exhaust tubes. This process injects pressurized water into each tube to form the ideal shape for optimum exhaust flow without causing creases or compromising the strength of the steel.

1,,, this is the most important one, in the installation process it says that in order to remove the sub-muffler/catalic converter. that you have to loosen the header flenge bolts. DO NOT DO THAT!! i repeat DO NOT! if you do, you run the risk of having a leaky header if you don't tighten back right, or a broken bolt/housing if you over tighten. Solution...just completely deflate your rear tire, just bring it down to 10psi and that sub-muffler comes off.
2... this link pipe does not come with a heat shield, that is a part for the street legal slip on, so be very cautious of where you place your leg at a stop light. Solution... stop at your local bike shop and buy a roll of fiberglass tape and wrap it yourself. I do hope that Akrapovic does come up with a shield for this product.
3... if i could get my money back for this product...
i wouldn't, i think i would pay more.
Had a HELL of a time pulling the sleeve out of my head pipes (bike had 9k miles on before install) and an even HARDER time getting the new sleeve in without damaging it.
Welds are beautiful, bolted right up with ease. Not a huge fan of the spring attachment in most cases, but this one was stellar. (No tool included-- I used the zip-tie method, worked like a charm.)
DON'T SKIMP-- get a cheaper can and a Pinebox, or add this to your slip on upgrade.
