Ultra Light with Great Field of View
I bought this as soon as available and had Revzilla overnight it to me. 15 hours after ordering it--It was on my doorstep. Eric at Revzilla gave great advice. Anyway on with the review, based on a 2 day 900 mile trip thru the Texas hill country from 85 degrees to about 55 degrees, in the sun and the rain:

Thru the years I've owned Shoei, Arai, Schuberth of various models. My current (last 3 years) is a Shoei GT air.

The Simpson fits like the Shoei, but flows way more air. The visor works like a Shoei, but has a manual down lock. Quite a bit more lateral field of view, and a little bit more horizontal. The finish is on par with my GT air, but the liner is not quite as plush, but certainly in the high end helmet range. The helmet broke in nicely after about 10 hours and is super comfy. I have baseball hats that weigh more than this helmet. The internal visor is Shoei quality (the very bottom of the internal visors on both my Shoei and Simpson distort a little--but its out of my field of view). Aerodynamics are great up thru 90 mph wind (even when you turn your head)--above 110 mph wind there is a 1 HZ vibration that you notice (I ride a street triple r).
The visor does fog, but there is a pinlock if you need. I found that even in the rain, by the time I get up to 20 mph the visor is clear. This bad boy flows air like an open face helmet!

It is a LOUD helmet. Straight up. But with 5 previously broken vertebrae, the ultra light weight more than makes up for it. Wear earplugs!

As for protection. I got to try that out too. I had a suicidal B1RD decide to go for it. I caught him on my right cheek and right shoulder doing about 90 mph. He's dead and after cleaning his cherry pie off my helmet and jacket you can't even tell.

Great looking helmet, but not perfect.
I received my carbon fiber Ghost Bandit about a week and 400 miles ago and let me tell you, this thing looks awesome! The style of this helmet is totally bad a $$! It has great air flow and is extremely lightweight, BUT (theres always a but) it is not perfect. First off this helmet is EXTREMELY loud (compared to my Shoei rf1200) while this is not a deal breaker it is something to keep in mind. Also, this helmet fogs up VERY VERY VERY easily, and while it has the pinlock system, the pinlocks are not available and Simpson currently has no estimated date for them to be released. I personally think that at this $650 price point the pinlocks should have been included in the box (like my shoei). Those are my only 2 issues with the helmet and while I am really disappointed with the fogging issue, I am overall very satisfied with the Simpson Ghost Bandit.

Very Happy. I would recommend.
Very happy with the helmet. I usually just wear a brain bucket for around town, but wanted something more substantial for those long Interstate rides, thus I decided on the carbon fiber version. Very very light. It does have a little wind noise, due to the vents in the top, but I rarely ride a full face helmet so it is no bother to me and really is not that bad. Very comfortable. I have a 23 inch head, and went with a Large. Perfect fit.

Great helmet. The video on this product is excellent but I believe gives a poor size assessment. It claims that he helmet fits large when for me it fit small. I usually wear a Large and had to order a XL in Simpson which is still snug. Great value and I love the helmet. Great service all around from Revzilla!

Simpson Ghost Carbon
I've worn Simpson helmet's for sometime now, on the street and the race track, this one is by far the absolute best one I've owned, comfort, weight, and definitely style can't be beat! Also added the SENA 10 to mine which installed flawlessly due to helmet being set up for it. This made for a excellent combo, the best feature is weight no more neck fatigue on a long haul! I would recommend this helmet to anyone looking for a quality helmet that if required would save your life

What is the weight on the carbon version?
Andrew A on Feb 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: 2 lbs. 4 oz.
Do you know if the carbon version will be matte or gloss? I'm assuming gloss based on Simpson's history, but wanted to confirm. Thanks!
John R on Jan 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The carbon version has a gloss finish.
Can I get a dark outer and a clear inner visor?
A shopper on Mar 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes
Can I ask what is the finish of this helmet ? Pics show black ? Does it come in clear coated carbon fibre ?
Thanks
Lindsay
A shopper on May 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: That's a great question Lindsay. When I asked initially I was told it would be a flat finish, the helmet I received was actually high gloss.....which looks great by the way. A quick tour of the Simpson site reveals that the helmet is available in at least the two finishes. I'd talk to someone at RevZilla prior to ordering just to be sure you get the lid you want.....it's worth the effort, the helmet is sick.
Andy chance to have a matt finish carbon ?
A shopper on Aug 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Nope
Can you take the internal visor out?
A C on Sep 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Not sure that it can be completely removed as I haven't tried, but I believe the internal shield can be changed out. That said, even if you remove the shield the mechanism would still be there including the external lever. To be honest, I've never used the internal shield (I've got a dark smoke visor that works great) and don't even notice that it's there. By the way, the lid is awesome.....super light, fits great (follow Anthony's advice) and looks awesome......
What max vison fits the visor??
A shopper on Jun 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Not sure I understand the question. I can say its excellent in terms of peripheral vision, much better than prior Simpson lids.....
Photos don't look like glossy carbon, are they correct?
A C on May 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The appearance and weight are of gloss black carbon.
What does this helmet weigh?
