Yoshimura R77 Street Slip-On Exhaust Honda NC700X

The Yoshimura R-77 Slip-On Exhaust was designed with the needs of the racer in mind. Using the feedback received from the Yoshimura Road Racing Team, their designers came up with a muffler that is constructed from lightweight materials, grants a significant boost in power thanks to its high-flow trapezoidal shape and gives your bike a great sound without being excessively loud.  The muffler will help your engine make more power while reducing overall weight. The end result is an exhaust that will let your motorcycle reach its maximum potential!

Features:

  • Superbike technology and styling
  • Trapezoidal-shaped sleeve
  • Straight baffle for ample flow
  • Innovative end-cap
  • Stainless steel mid-pipe (applicable models)
  • Made in the USA

The right muffler for a NC
This muffler makes this bike sound right. It no longer sounds like a scooter and makes it sound like an actual motorcycle. I have the center stand installed on my bike which further made my decision to purchase this muffler since it has the bump stop already installed on it. The only reason I gave it a four for installation is because the hidden rivet under the exhaust clamp was a bit of a hassle to install but other wise all went smooth. With an increase in performance and a weight savings of about 10 pounds this was a necessary upgrade for my bike. I just wish I would have done it sooner!

Smart looking great sound
I have a Honda NC700X , I got the Carbon Fiber one. Looks great on the bike. Everyone one that has seen it and heard it think it is really nice. Not to loud but really nice and beefy and noticeable. Was super easy to put on the bike. Easier to put on then it was to get out of the box it came in. They packaged really well. No chance of it getting damaged in the mail.

What a SOUND! Sounds great, but a question
Gotta say, great sound, super easy install (two bolts) and you're off. Too easy, great results. But a question - the slip on ships with a battle that seems to be inserted into the rear of the pipe and (theoretically) secured in place through an access on the interior side (wheel side) of the pipe. OK, but.....the milled ring around the rear of the battle won't actually fit inside the exhaust opening. I'd have to grind a section off to make it fit. Then one the set-screw hole plug is removed I'd have to drill out what appears to be an aluminum river. In total I'd have to pull the pipe, drill out the rivet, and grind the milled ring to fit prior to fixing in place. Oh yeah, NONE of this is included in the instructions. Its OK, I'm a former aircraft mechanic and this is all pretty straight forward stuff, but for the uninitiated it might be an obstacle to really enjoying the product. If you don't have the requisite skills or confidence its going to result in either an unhappy customer...or.....you'll have to ride WITHOUT the baffle. In any case - its a great sounding pipe, so we're not looking at a tragic situation. But for the sake of full disclosure, it'll take some work if you want to really quiet the pipe down (not that I'D recommend it.) Cheers all.

Looks and sounds better
Let me start by saying I have the dct variant of the NC700X. I start with that because I was leery of getting an exhaust, knowing how awful 99% of automatic cars with exhaust sound. This thing quashed those fears. It sounds great - not too loud and still audible and deep. the carbon fiber looks sick and the quality is clear to anyone that sees it.
Now Yoshimura just needs to come out with a full exhaust, then I'll be happier than a pig in mud

Changes the bike's character.
Initially, I did not even consider getting an aftermarket exhaust, but after the stock exhaust was dented, I bought Yoshimura R77 as a replacement. It was easy to install. It sounds very good, but not too loud (at least at low RPMs, while you're leaving your neighborhood in the early morning). It improves the looks of the bike tremendously, and I'd say that the bike has a different character now. It's even more joy to ride it.

Yoshimura R77 Street Slip-on Exhaust
Arrived today and I just finished the installation on my Honda NC700x DCT.

I selected the Yoshimura R77 over the others for one reason...it supports the OEM centerstand. I listened to all the aftermarket exhaust options on YouTube and they all sounded pretty much the same to me.

I also wanted a slight louder note so I can hear the engine. It is really tough to manual shift in its current OEM sowing machine mode.

The box arrived and it was mostly Styrofoam Peanuts (I hate those ... they get everywhere), but the new exhaust was well protected and arrived undamaged.

I selected the less expensive stainless steel version because I didn't feel the extra $100 for the carbon fiber one was worth it just for cosmetics...A little shiny stuff never hurt anything.

Installation: the OEM pipe came off easily. Installing the R77 was easy except for one thing...Around the inside of the main mounting bracket is a rubber strip...I spent all of 20 minutes trying to get that on to the bracket and lined up, another 10 minutes trying to peal the protective coating off that same bracket and a mere 5 minutes installing the pipe! Hehehehe

They advise that you completely wipe the pipe down with rubbing alcohol before starting the bike the first time – heed this advice. A few years back, I found my finger prints in a brand new chrome heat shield because the oils in my fingers were baked on! You only need to do this "wipe down" once.

Starting the bike was a shock ... the new pipe is loud (to me), but it sounded VERY cool! I knew right away that I wanted to install the extra baffle they provide to reduce the volume. Since I am sure I am the only one on the planet who would prefer this, all I will say is "READ the instructions" for installing it, if you plan to do it. I didn't and it cost me 20 minutes of frustration before I realized there is a punch plug you to have to pound out before installation.

Final thoughts ... I am happy with the fit, finish and sound.

Looks and sounds great.
Couldn't be happier with the look and sound of this slip on. Feeling it out a little before looking at enhancing it with a power commander solution. Either way, all good. Best is that after thinking about it for weeks, it delivered the day after I ordered it.

This exhaust system got great reviews. Also know people with them and they liked them. It was easy to put on my Honda NC700X took about 20 minutes in all. Took more time to get it out of the box it came in. They packed it very well.
