Excellent short boot protection
I purchased this boot after researching nearly every available short boot on the market. First off, for the price, this is a spectacular boot. I also feel the boot is very rigid, has a sturdy heel counter, and has excellent ankle protection. The sole has great grip and is very rigid, until the flex point. No problems whatsoever riding. I feel these are as comfortable and easy to ride with as a pair of puma F1 shoes (which I rode with before). I purchased the sport version over the standard square after asking Revzilla which boots seemed stronger, and they mentioned that this boot was one of the top short boots in terms of protection (aside from those cut-off racing style shoes).

Pros:
- Style, these look great under a pair of jeans
- Protection. These are not a full length race boot. But even compared to the full touring boots, I feel that these provide the same level of protection from the ankle down.
- Control on the bike. I can easily move my foot to all the controls.
- Comfort. I've worn these for a 10 hour work day and they felt identical to my pumas. I wouldn't go running in them, but am more than willing to wear them all day, on and off the bike.
- Stiff construction. Aside from being a hockey skate, these are very rigid throughout the boot. They seem to be double layered in all the right spots.
- Fit and finish. I am extremely happy with the TCX quality.

Cons:
- I read others mentioning the lace length. I have not had this problem. Others mentioned the strap getting in the way when tying the shoes. While true, this is a minor inconvenience.
- I would like the toe box to be larger.
- There is no shift pad, but after a month of riding, I've seen no wear.

Overall I would highly recommend these boots. For the price, and compared to all other boots I looked at, I could not imagine riding or wearing anything else.

Everything you're really looking for
I'm a new rider. As such, I've already (accidentally) tested the protection these boots provide.
With my GSX750F laying on my leg, all I felt was the weight, as the boot softly cushioned my ankle on both sides from the ground and the bike.
I haven't done much long term walking in them, but short trips to the store, or around the gas station, seem to be comfortable enough.
Based on price and quality...I highly recommend these!
Take it from the horses mouth...so to speak.

Great for riding, could be better off the bike
I was recommended these boots by a very nice rep in the Revzilla Philly store. I was originally looking at a different brand, but was convinced to get the TCX's on the basis of better safety and they were actually a little bit cheaper than the other boots I was looking at anyway.

The difference in protection with some of the comparable light boots around the same price was obvious. The other brand twisted/deformed as easily as most sneakers and lacked any sort of toe reinforcement. Apart from ankle protection, they didn't seem too much better than wearing a pair of high tops. The TCXs are significantly stiffer, with a good amount of reinforcement in the toe box (though not 100% hard), and ample heel protection as well.

They feel great when riding and I feel well protected for basic commuting. Only downside is that they're not particularly comfortable for basic off-bike use. I expect to give up some comfort for safety, but the problem is that there's almost no cushioning on the footbed. The insole is very thin and I'd think they could have put in a cushier insole without affecting the safety. For a boot that has styling tame enough to look like a normal sneaker when under a pant cuff, I wish it was a bit more comfortable for off-bike use. However, this is something I should hopefully be able to fix myself with some Dr. Scholl's inserts.

Regarding sizing, these seem about one half to one size large versus sneakers. I wear size 9 sneakers, though I wear them loose so I'm probably more like 8.5. With the TCX boots, size 8 (EU 41) is the proper fit for me.

Great Boot For The Money
After the initial break-in period (tends to be stiff and have pressure points) these are fantastic. Super comfortable all the while having great protection. The sole is nice and thick and also provides superior traction. I really like the Velcro strap up top to keep laces tucked tightly. The look pretty awesome too :)

I guess I was hoping for more comfort from a boot/shoe at this level of protection. Looks to me like a medium high top tennis shoe with a little thicker sides and a nice velcro strap to keep your laces out of the way.
On the bike it wasn't too bad but I had to walk/stand around at the dealership today while my bike was getting checked out and I realized that there's no bottom cushion to this shoe at all.
It's also hot, with little or no ventilation.
It became very uncomfortable to stand after just 30 minutes.
I normally stand at work 10-12 hours a day so I'm no wuss when it comes to standing.
It looked like these had been returned before (maybe more than once). even packed in a huge outer box with plenty of cushion the inner box was both smashed & ripped.

Frankly, I'd return them too but it's not worth the shipping cost for something that only cost 100.00

My 2nd pair of TCX
Great boots. I like the rear exposed for easier movement shifting. The air flows in through the lace area and air conditions your feet. I have been beating on these for 300 miles and they still look new, even the shift toe area. The price is right!

Worth the $$$ but...
Watched the video, decided these would be a good choice for me. I have a pair of tall Alpinestar boots but wanted something a little more comfortable for urban riding and walking around. I initially ordered size 45 which I fit nearly every other Euro shoe in (Ecco, Puma, Asics). The shoe felt tight in the toe box, so I decided to return for the next size up, the 46. The 46 arrived, tried them on and there was a HUGE difference between the two sizes. I was now "swimming" in the 46's but wasn't unbearable. I have installed some insoles to take up some 'extra room" and it helps. Word of caution when sizing up. Think I would now prefer the 45's but too late, I have already worn them outside.

Only other gripe is the laces. Waaaaay too long in my opinion. You have to be creative, roll them up and tuck away under the velcro strap very carefully before going anywhere. Not a fan of laces in general on a bike. Oh well... Good news is, they are inexpensive. I'll be looking for another pair because these don't quite do it for me.

Better than expected.
I ordered my first pair of motorcycle boots last month and settled on the Sidi Air Traffic as the right combination of safety and minimalism. I primarily wanted something that I wouldn't hate putting on in the summer. The Sidi turned out to be tight in the toe and really loose in the heel and ankle; i.e. uncomfortable and not secure enough to offer support.
John led me to a few other options and together we landed on these TCX X-Square Sport. I've only had them two days, but I wore them comfortably for about 6 hours yesterday (riding, sitting, and walking) and then again today for another 4 hours (riding and sitting around).

Pros:
-Stylish, if you like this styling. They're not moon or ski boots, but obviously you sacrifice shin/calf protection by not having a taller boot.
-Really comfortable, only felt a little stiff and warm after sitting in them for an extended period of time.
-More supportive in the ankle than I expected.
-Cool; I can feel the air when riding.
-Great grip with the soles.

Cons:
-I feel like the toe box could be harder/more protective. It's reinforced, but it could be stiffer without sacrificing comfort.
-The velcro strap gets in the way when trying to lace/tie.

Overall I'm very pleased with this purchase!

Protective, comfortable, breathable.
Finally a sigh of relief from my feet. I can feel the airflow through these as I ride, yet I know I am still protected. These are very comfortable, light, and look great. Very happy with these boots. Excellent for hot Southern California days.

Incredibly comfortable
Ordered these last week and they came fast as per usual. Decided to wear them to work the day after I got them, was a bit apprehensive about a full day (ride in, at work, ride home) without breaking them in but I did not need to be worried at all. They're incredibly comfortable, no places in the liner to rub. I probably had them on for 9-10 hours and had no issues with chafing, pressure, any of that stuff you normally get while breaking in boots. With jeans over top they're subtle enough to wear in the office without notice, too.

I wear between a 44/45 in Puma, so ordered a size 45. They're slightly roomy in the toe, but not to the point where they're loose or my feet slide. I feel like a 44 may have pinched a bit. Lacing is pretty loose and they do take a minute to put on.

Riding: definitely breathable, solid air movement coming though the lacing/tongue while moving at any decent speed. These are gonna be clutch in NC in July. Good feel in the toe on the shift, a bit less so through the sole on the brake but some still sensation comes though. Feels like there's solid protection up the back of the heel, some armor higher on each ankle, not as much on the low ankle. I would not track these, but plenty for any street riding.
