Stylish and Protective
For me, shifter pads on motorcycle boots have always been uninviting but at the same time, unavoidable when I was riding metric bikes. With a Harley Road King, however, being able to wear protective but also stylish boots (thanks to the heel shifter) was possible, at least in theory. Finding full calf touring boots without shifter pad was easy but when it comes to ankle high boots that would look like regular daily boots was a challenge. There are some alternatives but most compromise either style or protection. These fit the bill so nicely that they look almost like fashion boots off the bike yet, they are truly protective motorcycle boots. Besides, they are not V-Twin only boots: their elegant brogue ornaments differ from wingtip in such an asymmetrical way that they actually do have shifter pads for those who need them. As red is not my favorite color in shoe laces, I was happy to discover that a separate pair of brown laces was also offered in a plastic bag.

I am no leather expert but they do seem to be made of quality full grain oiled leather, in fact. As far as I know, this is stronger than top grain leather yet, supple enough in this application. I mean, they are very comfortable even before they are broken in. They are nicely finished too. They fit true to size, at least for American size 13. Not all my American size 13 shoes/boots are equivalent to the same European size. Some charts list the US 13 as equivalent to EU46 and some to 47. According to the product info page at Revzilla; these are US13 = EU47 variety and this is correct from the US size point of view.

Neither the various leaflets that were in the box nor the tabs sewn into the tongue of the boots claim CE level of protection but I have no other reason to doubt. They do seem to be adequately protective for what they are. After all, they are not technical racing boots but they do not seem to fall short of any good ankle high motorcycle boot in that respect. In fact, the “PU ankle protective inserts” are more serious than I was expecting from such elegant boots and the toe and heel reinforcements seem to be suitable for the task. If things are how they look like, I would not object to a CE mark, though.

I have no intention to subject my Wave boots to heavy rain for long but the waxed leather is sheeting water. One of the included leaflets explains the breathable, windproof and water resistant Antex membrane that is inserted between the leather and the lining. With inner gaiters up close to the top of the tongue, I feel that they will keep my feet reasonably dry if/when I cannot escape from rain.

I am a bit disappointed by the welt construction. It is not stitched but glued, even if the faux stitching makes it look like stitched. The overall quality of the boots are so good that I wonder if glued welt is preferred for water resistance but I was expecting stitched welts, anyway. The boots are made in Slovakia and the workmanship does not show any flaw. In view of the leather quality and workmanship, the price of these boots does not seem steep to me. Many fashion boots of similar quality are more expensive, without any justification like additional protective material.

I polished them right out of the box, as I do with all my leather shoes/boots, to help the leather during the break-in period. They responded with a healthy, deep satin finish. I refrained from dubbin, leather grease, even oil, because they do not seem to need anything more than a light polish. I give them four stars due to not being CE marked and for their glued welts but I can recommend them to anyone who is looking for remarkably stylish motorcycle boots of quality leather that would fit any off the bike occasion without compromising protection.

Distinguished boots for the distinguished gentleman
These boots are just gorgeous to look at. The way the shifter pad is integrated in the design looks great. I've only worn these boots a few times and I've gotten a few comments already on how nice they look, on and off the bike. I appreciate how the toe isn't too tall, like a lot of the H-D and cruiser boots I see. Those will work fine with heel shifters, but not so good for getting under the gear lever. The Wave boots are good in this aspect.

That being said, a couple of minor gripes in terms of functionality. The heel grab handle is so small it's useless. But it's easy enough to pull the boots on by grabbing the padded ankle park, so no big deal. The laces are very long. Way too long. It doesn't make sense why they'd include such long laces and no way to tuck them or something, considering these are riding boots and the last thing I want is a big string flapping around my foot to catch on a peg or in the chain.

Anyway these are expensive boots and I can get different laces. The bottom line is, these are actually a good value and I can see riding with these for a long time, so I consider it a good investment.

Rocking Stylmartim Wave
These boots are so awesome, I thought they were going to be nice but the style, the quality, fit, everything about them is very unique. Which is nice when we live surrounded by the same things everywhere.. I rock these boots under a suit, with jeans, dockers... I rock them with everything. Sometimes I find myself in boxers with them on.. and I've even fallen asleep on the couch with them on.. indefinitely found what I wanted in these moto boots. I ride a few different bikes and the toe box is perfect with the double leather shift pad, cool all around riding weather boots.

Nice Boot
After a "small get off" last year, I had been looking to replace my usual riding shoes (Leather Chuck Taylor's or low top Nikes) with some actual motorcycle specific boots. I had wanted the Stylmartin Indian since i had first seen them last year, but couldn't bring myself to spend 300 bucks on boots. Then I considered the Iron, but its sneaker look wouldn't have worked well for the day job. I looked at A-stars and TCX and everything in between. I read a lot of reviews on Revzilla and other places. After a lot of debating and agonizing I decided to go with the Wave. The wingtip look makes it more appropriate for work and really, I just like the style.
Sizing: Im generally a 12 in standard US sizing. I went back and forth on size and ended up ordering the 46. this is ever so slightly too long. hard to feel my toe through the layers of leather, but if I don't lace tight enough, I get some slight sliding action front to back. Proper socks help with this. The width is fine for me and generally i will get a wide shoe whenever I can. This all being said, given the opportunity to order again, I would go down to a 45 to start with and see how it feels.
Quality: These feel well made to me... I'm a sneaker kind of guy though and this is the most i have ever spent on shoes. The leather is thick but not too stiff and has broken in nicely in the month I've owed them. They are comfortable out of the box but did need some time before the crease that forms over the toe is broken in to a point that long bouts of walking are tolerable. They are taking on the broken-in patina faster than I had expected but it looks great. One of my bikes has a knurled shifter and it is scuffing the leather a little more than I would like but it’s not eating through it. I have not had “opportunity” to test the water resistance yet. I will say they flow air better than I had expected.
Feel: A few years ago I broke my ankle and I still have a good amount of hardware in my leg. I have trouble wearing work boots or high tops due to pain caused by pressure put on some of this hardware. The wave causes no ankle pain at all. I was worried with the padding and armor but these don't seem to hit any of the tender spots. I lace them very tight as well. They are very comfortable but you won't soon forget that you are wearing a tall boot. Coming from mostly sneakers this has been an adjustment. I have 2 bikes, both Triumphs: a Bonneville and a Speed Triple. I ride both with these boots and they feel perfectly fine on both bikes. The riding position isn't so different between them; both have upright bars and standard mid controls, so no real surprise there.
Issues: my only real complaint so far is the laces (I have only used the red laces and i really like the color against the brown leather). It isn't an issue with the lace quality, just the length. I like my laces a little long. The laces on these are very, very long. Pulling the laces as tight as I like, and just the overall length of them leaves giant loops hanging down. I caught them in my clutch cable/lower adjustment on the Bonnie and was hung up pretty good. Luckily it was a parking lot and I had a friend there to help me untangle since i couldn't use the foot to put the stand down easily. I had tried the style of wrapping them around the top of the boot before tying them, and this helps a lot but I didn't like the feel of the extra pressure around the ankle. Now, I'm just trying to remember to tuck them into the boots before i head out.

My first true motorcycle boot
I was using a pair of clarks boots after buying my first bike (2016 Fatboy S) and knew immediately that I would need something more sturdy and with more grip particularly when pushing/rolling the bike back. I really like the look of these boots. I wear a 10.5-11 in tennis shoes, but opted for the 44 in these (11 US) because it was the only size available despite initially expecting to go with the 43. I am glad only the 44 was available as the 43 would have felt cramped around the toe with the narrower end. If you don't like the burgundy laces (wasn't sure I would), they do come with brown as well.

Why you should get a pair..
To be honest Im generally apprehensive buying shoes online because the sizes are kind of off. These boots wear larger than your regular size. I had to wear a gel insole in mine and decided to test them out on a 1600 mile ride cross country.
I have never had a comfier pair of boots. They ride well. Look amazing (everyone asked what these were) and I actually slipped in traffic unfortunately and got to test them first hand. Remarkable. I wish They had another colourful pair of laces with the original red ones.
We experienced tempratures between 86 F to 40 F in just 5 days. From a hot and humid town at sea level to 10,500 ft on a snow capped peak.
These are highly recommended boots for rough wear and tear.
Also the patina formed with the little bumps and bruises has made mine unique to my experiences.

Nice shoe
Just got my Waves. I'm a size 12 in sneakers and either a 12M or an 11 1/2 E in dress shoes. The 44 which they call an 11 fit me perfectly. Great looking shoe and felt good on out of the box. A little bit of a pain to get into and a longer heel tab might help. Also the laces are too long especially for a riding shoe. But these are minor complaints and I recommend these shoes.

Great Looking boot that feels sturdy
Haven't taken them on a ride yet this review is strictly straight out of the box. I put them on with my work clothes as I received them at the office and they look great. The color has a very natural look. The support along the ankle heel and toe are very sturdy. I normally wear a 10.5 in sneakers and shoes so I was concerned the 43 might be small. The shoe hair large. The heel has a little more space then my liking but I am also in dress socks. I believe thicker socks should do the trick.

All and all great impression prior to taking them on the bike. Only time shall tell

Great Boot!
Boots fit great right out of the box. Haven't rode with them yet as I live in upstate NY. I have worn them around town and they are very comfortable, not too heavy or bulky. Can't wait to ride with them. I also like the way they lace up, so you can keep them tight or loosen them as needed. No disappointments here.

Great boots
Just got these, and I have to say they are extremely well made and super comfortable. Be warned, you may want to go a size smaller than usual. I'm normally a size 12 in US Mens, and opted for the 11.5 (EU 45). And STILL, these boots are big on me. Particularly in the heel area. Unless your foot is super wide (EEE+) I'd go a full size down.

For now, I just use the long laces to tie the sucker tight, and it works. Great protection over all, and cheaper the the Rokker Urban Racers.

Love the red laces that compliment the dark brown leather. So you could wear them anywhere, riding or not. They work.
