Improved fit and comfort
The cheek pads that came with my Medium size RF-1200 helmet we're way too snug on my cheeks, I'm sure for racing applications this may be fine but for everyday riding it was uncomfortable. I changed the 35mm pads to 31mm pads and it's a much more comfortable fit, still very snug but not painfully so. Removing and reinstalling the pads is super easy, watch Anthony do it on the Revzilla video reviews.

Fixed the problem
The 35mm pads that come standard on this helmet were too thick. I have a wide jaw. So, the 31mm pads fixed the problem. They fit perfectly. Easy installation. Comfortable.

Nice level of customization
The thinner Shoei cheek pads really make the RF-1200 a fantastic fitting helmet, for my head. Same materials, construction and installation as the stock pads. Highly recommend this extra purchase to maintain the proper level of snugness without pushing the cheeks into the eyes. Although ...imagine a future where we select the size of cheek pad insert at the time of purchase.

Just what i needed
This is just what I needed to make my helmet fit perfect. The cheek pads that the helmet came with were uncomfortable and pushed my cheeks up.
If anyone is having the same problem, I highly recommend spending the money on this product!

You Can Tune Your RF1200 For a Perfect Fit.
My head is a smidge too large for the factory RF1200 in small. I decided to try the 31mm cheek pads in place of the OEM 35mm pads, and was rewarded with a perfect fit! Installation was a snap : ) I'm thrilled that Shoei offers this product.

Money can fix fatness!
After dropping $500 on the RF-1200, I was disappointed that my robust cheeks did not comfortably fit into the helmet. I also had an issue with my ear scraping plastic when taking the helmet off. These cheek pads fixed it all. I went from a 35mm->31mm, and my round cheeks and big ears now fit! Its amazing!

cured tight cheek syndrome!
bought a XL helmet and loved everything about the helmet except the tight cheeks. I easily swapped out these cheek pads and it feels much better. it is still a little tight but I'm hoping it lightens as I wear the helmet further.
No regrets and as usual revzilla is easy to work with.

Needed to fit my big head
I bought an XL helmet, which fit my head but squished my face to the point that I kept biting my cheek. I ordered these in and they've made all the difference - the helmet is now really comfortable and it hasn't changed the wind noise at all.

Made the helmet much better
I have always had Shoei helmets and really liked the features and safety. I have had a couple race track crashes and the helmet always protected me well. The one issue I had in the past was while the helmet size felt good, the cheek pads were always too big and just made the fit a little uncomfortable. After switching out to thinner pads the fit was perfect and have never enjoyed my helmet more. My only regret was not switching the cheek pads sooner.

I have a Shoei RF1200 M and just need to tighten it back up. Many people complain about the tight cheek pads but they are helping hold that helmet onto your head. Shoei uses premium pads that take longer to break in than other competitors. They just need to break in which takes about two weeks with some good riding.
Z A on Jun 23, 2017
These cheek pads are cheek pads. I needed slimmer ones in my helmet and these made it fit perfectly. Hooray cheek pads.

In my experience, Shoei helmets are made for people whose faces are very narrow toward the cheek. I ordered these when I ordered my RF 1200 helmet, and it was a good call. The helmet fits very comfortably with this substitution.

I recently purchased the Shoei RF-1200 size medium. It came with size 35mm cheek pads. When I wear it, it feels like my grandma squeezing my face. I downsized to a 31mm. Hopefully this fixes it lol

Stephen L on Sep 11, 2017
I have a large size RF-1200. I know I have the correct size (large - as I could not even get a medium over my head), but the seal around the neck is just a little too loose resulting in a lot of wind noise. Will larger cheek pads also make the seal around the neck tighter?
A C on Sep 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The cheek pads run from the front side of your face to a little past your ears. They may help if the seal issue is on the side of your head. I don’t see how they can help if the issue is the back of your head and neck.
do shoei rf 1200 X-Large & XX-Large share the same shell ?
A shopper on Nov 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The question: Is the helmet shell on the XL the same size and the shell on the XXL? Or is the only difference the cheek pad size of 35mm vs 31mm?
Ordering one of these comes with both the left and right side, correct?
Vincent G on Sep 17, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes. I ordered a smaller size cheek pad for the 1200 and it came with both left and right side pads.
Just got my helmet. The medium is a perfect fit for my head. I tried this on at a local store and liked the size. However, after wearing it for a while, the cheek pads are a little tight for comfort. Also, its starting to hurt to get it on and off. My ears are getting scraped too much. Would you suggest a smaller cheek pad or will they loosen with time?
Dan M on Mar 31, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hey Dan, I also just bought a new rf1200 (L) and it was a bit too tight in the cheeks. I ordered the 31mm cheek pad set from Revzilla. They did the trick. Still snug but not uncomfortable and they will loosen up a bit.
I'd suggest the thinner pads - I think that will solve the problem. Worked for me.
I bought an XS shoei but the cheek pads are too tight, should I get the 31mm or the 35mm cheek pads?
A shopper on Aug 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I found the cheek pads supplied with the helmet tight also. I bought thinner pads like the ones you might need {31mm is thinner than 35mm} initially. After a few months the thinner pads became thinner until my helmet began to move like one that was too big for me. I put the thicker ones back in to keep the helmet from moving while sightseeing at speed. If they thin out I can go to a thicker pad, but that is not your need at the moment. I hope I have helped you. Ride on!
I bought an S size shoei rf 1200. Fits great, but when I put it on every time it folds my ears (I put it on from the front and spread out the straps). Once the helmet is on though, it's very comfy. The small has 35mm pads. Will the 31mm pads fit the small size? The idea is that the neck roll will be thinner on 31mm and it shouldn't fold my ears.
Nicholas S on May 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: If the helmet fits, don't change the pads. A better solution is to buy a helmet liner that covers the ears. Then, when you pull the helmet on, it won't catch on on your ears. I use a Silkie for that reason. It also helps keep the helmet clean.
Hi! I have a Shoei RF 1100 and we have the 37 mm optional cheek pads. Looks like the RF 1200 lose this option. Why? The 35 mm (OEM) in the RF 1200 is tighter than RF 1100? What can you say? Thank you
Antonio Augusto M on Aug 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: EnWell Antonio I can't say much but I let you know what I did .. I also had the RF 1100 with 31mm cheek pads . I purchased the RF 1200 and installed 31mm cheek pads and the helmet fits me fine . Shoi will do a cheek pad exchange with you as long as the stock pads are in new condition (never used and in the shipping bag) for free . BTW ; I liked my 1100 but love the 1200 .ter an answer to this question.
I'm looking at getting the 31mm pads to replace the OEM 35mm ones (it's a bit tight, like in the question above). My question though, is if the 31mm pads' neckroll is thicker or thinner than the 35mm?
Jonathan T on Apr 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: They're thinner. When I finally got them and switched them out (replacing then is very easy too) it made a worlds difference. My guns weren't pushing into my teeth anymore, it was a much more comfortable feel.
If I'm a XXL helmet, there isn't any thinner cheek pads available is there? 31mm is the thinnest available anywhere?
A shopper on Jun 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, 31mm was the smallest size according to Shoei charts, and the smallest size I could find.
Currently im using the default checkpad on my RF 1200 but its too snug and a little tight. What cheek pad size should i get to get a more comfortable fit ? I tried looking for the cheekpad size on my helmet and there is nothing there, so i dont really know the size im currently using.....Thanks Guarav
Gaurav D on Apr 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Without knowing your helmet size I can't be sure, but the product page has the sizes listed. I have and xl helmet and got the 31mm. My helmet went from a little tight to perfect. Totally recommend getting the proper cheek pads
