Sena 10S Bluetooth Headset

The tried and true SMH-10 has received a overdue update in the form of the Sena 10S. The slimmer profile hides a leap in technology, as the 10S enriches your riding experience by adding communication with up to four riders via crystal-clear HD audio, up to 1.6 km (1 mile) away, through the One Touch Group Intercom. The universal intercom feature allows you to communicate with Sena and non-Sena communicators alike.

Stunning HD quality sound is a hallmark of the 10S, and so is Sena’s Advanced Noise Control that ensures ambient noise doesn’t interfere with incoming and outgoing audio. Bluetooth 4.1 technology, improved stereo Bluetooth speakers, and advanced architecture creates a smooth, crisp, and responsive user experience you’ll love.

The Sena Smartphone App makes configuring your 10S a snap! Change settings, set groups of intercom friends, and access a Quick Guide. You can also set up your 10S to pair with up to two mobile phones for convenient hands-free calling.

DEFINITELY worth the money!!!
I had been eyeing a Sena SMH10 for a while, all of the guys that i ride with all use one and they absolutely love it. If your like me i always want the top of the line but couldn't justify buying the 20s. I love my 10S! it gives you all of the nice looks and most of the features as the 20s but for a cheaper price. Sure there is the difference like how many you can do a group intercom with and voice commands blah blah blah. there was one review on here that made me hesitant where he said the unit just plopped out of the clamp while on a ride and that the way the unit attached sucked. I ended up getting a 10S for my birthday and love it! while i thing the way it attached could be better i don't see it just falling out on its own at any speed. the jog dial is very easy to use and i never find my hand accidentally hitting the clip that holds the unit in place. the different button length holds and pushes are slightly confusing but after a week or two of using it daily they are easily mastered and able to use on the go. I would go with the 10S over the SMH10 unless the extra $50-$70 extra is to much over your price point.
i have a Bell Qualifier and the install took about 15 minutes and was really easy! I would be sure to use the speaker pads in the kit to make sure you have the speakers as closely mounted to your ears as possible because it helps with the sound quality and clarity for sure. I didn't use them at first and found a drastic difference in the sound quality after i added them in.
Over all I love the 10S and think that it is worth the money over the SMH10! Don't let some of the bad reviews scare you away as I have found them to be false

Great, but a few things to note
Very good device. I upgraded from an smh5.
I love the new way the device clamps into the holster with the tab.
Seems like it will resolve the issue of the 20s and the smh 10 where you loose contact with the pins.

Two things I have noticed :
Be careful tightening the clamp to the helmet, I apparently over-tightened and a small piece of the plastic cracked :-(
Right by the wired audio input.

2nd, (I performed this test with the helmet off my head)
With the sidetone enabled, pressing the phone button to activate siri/Google now, you will receive a high pitched screeching sound.
It appears to be echoing the sound in an endless loop.
Something like having a conversation on speakerphone with other person in the same room.

If I put the helmet on, the issue is non existent, also, turning off sidetone makes the issue go away.

Sound quality from the speakers is preety good. Will conline to test over the next following weeks.

High quality bluetooth device
This is my first helmet bluetooth device. Installation was fairly easy on my Shoei RF-1200. My RF-1200 had speaker cutouts under the ear pads and required minimal modification. Sound quality was better than expectation. Pairing with an Android phone can be fun. I'm now learning Google voice commands. FM radio reception was fair. Rotating the outside wheel while pushing is a little awkward. Battery life is good. The main unit clips on the base and I'm always afraid it will fly off my helmet. Wind noise was minimal. I would purchase this product again.

Reliable, Quality,
I have used other in helmet intercom solutions in the past, but this is the best bang for your buck on the market right now. Great rider to rider intercom, great audio for music, simple to install and looks great on my Arai.

I mostly use this for listening to spotify on the way to work and the audio is incredible. It's not overpowering so I can still hear sirens and cars around me (if I want to) while not compromising on the audio. These is definitely the most balanced in helmet earphones i have used. There is a surprising amount of base, and the upper end isn't annoying and tinny. Its quick and easy to turn up or down with the wheel, or power off completely in 1 second.

My second use is for phone call while on the way to work. I often spend 20 minutes on the phone while commuting and the people on the other end of the call can't tell I'm on my bike. The only give away is if you start to talk loudly. There really isn't any need. The mic is great and when positioned correctly the people on the other end can hear you clearly.

When I have used it for intercom it is crisp and clear, and there is no need to shout back to the other rider.

I haven't tried the fm radio yet, and to be honest, this is not what I bought it for, so can't comment on quality.

Loud speakers and easy to use.
I bought this as a Christmas present from me to me this year and have been using it since that time. This is my first helmet bluetooth, so I have no prior experience to compare this model to.

That being said, I am very happy with this model. It was very easy to install and the controls have been intuitive and easy to pick up on. I mostly ride around town but have done some longer stretches on the highway at 70 mph. The speaker volume is fine for me even at that speed. I took a call at that speed from my wife and she didn't even realize I was on my bike as I was coming in so clear.

The battery life has been stellar between charges. This has been a great investment for me.

Great Communicator
I upgraded from the SMH10 to the 10S. It is pretty similar to the product it upgraded both in terms of form and function. I use this, in the main, to communicate on a one to one basis with another rider so I cannot comment on the group function. I also have not tried to test the distance that it keeps connected to another unit.

A clear communicator which is easy to set up. I cannot say that I notice a great difference between this and the SMH10. yes its slimmer and the app is more useful but all in all I don't notice much in terms of a performance upgrade to the older version which is an equally clear Sena product.

Very impressed
I was on the fence buying one of these because I figured their is no way a blue tooth headset would be comprehensible at normal riding speeds. I bought the 10S and installed it in my RF1200. This thing is amazing. I can cruise at 80 mph and have a conversation on the phone with someone as clear as if I was making a regular phone call. The noise cancellation works great, people on the other end will hear no wind noise.
A note for RF1200 owners. The speaker cutouts are not big enough for the new 10S speakers so you will have to Velcro mount or dremmel out your factory cutouts about an 1/8th"

Good product, but might not fit as expected
i bought this as I was in need of a way to listen to my music/radio on my way to work or on road trips. Installing the Sena was very easy however the 10S speakers do not fit very well in my Shoei RF-1200 because of a little plastic piece holding the speaker wire to the speaker. I attached the two-sided sticker to the speaker and the ear hole portion on the helmet. The speaker wobbles a bit but it works, though the previously installed foam insert cannot be reinstalled. Bluetooth connectivity is seamless, but navigating though the different functions is a matter of practice pushing buttons as the instructions are almost worthless.

Works great some of the time, on my second set, no better than the first.
I bought the dual pack based on other reviews, it seemed to have a good feature set and the price was right. Install was easy and sound is good, but during a typical ride we have to reset both units about every half hour. If you are talking only and stay in range they are great. If you switch back and forth between music and talking about 3 or 4 times they lock up and need to be reset. Went through tech support, got the newest firmware 1.01 at the time, sent them in, got replacement units (takes a good two weeks), and the new ones were not any better. Now on firmware 1.1, no change. If I ride alone with music and calls it's always fine. With someone else and we jump back and forth between music and intercom it locks up. Waiting for a firmware revision to fix this or I'm buying something else. Such a good concept but very poorly executed. So riding with friends who are not close enough to see you pat your head, you want to intercom them, that's when it always fails for some reason. The joke is now SENA stands for 'turn it off and on again', so when something is not working properly, 'give it a Sena!'.

great product, fantastic vendor
Product shipped/received timely. Pretty great product, although the quick setup instructions were quite lacking (and no detailed instructions included). Audio quality is not bad, but even with a modular full-face, can't really hear anything over 70 mph (i don't have a windshield). Great product, though.
