Scorpion Ravin Pants

The Scorpion Black Emperor Ravin Pants are the matching pants for the Ravin Jacket. 1.2 to 1.4mm thick top grain Monaco Leather, large perforated leather panels, and Scorpion power stretch panels make for a durable pair of riding pants that fit well and are comfortable for longs days in the saddle. Knees feature hard anodized black aluminum sliders inset into the leather, not just sewn on top.

Sas-Tec CE Level 2 viscoelastic SC-1/05 VELCRO® brand closures armor at knees is infinitely adjustable due to Scorpions VELCRO® brand closures panel adjustment system, so you can position the armor exactly where you want it. Additional Sas-Tec CE Level 1  SC-1/07 pads at hips. Ample use of phantom black NightViz reflective at thighs and knees means you will be seen better when riding at night. Subdued carbon trim and branding at thighs add to the understated stealth aesthetics. A full circumference 28” YKK zipper allows the Ravin jacket to be zipped to the Ravin pants to make this a two piece riding suit.

Leather accordion panels and heavy elastic at waist help these pants fit well when crouched forward or standing upright. YKK zipper at front fly, and metal hook closure at waist.  YKK fold flat locking zippers at ankles as well as a calf expansion zipper help the pants fit inside riding boots.

Features:

  • Constructed from a combination of premium, perforated and non-perforated 1.2 to 1.4mm thick top-Grain Monaco leather
  • Exo-Stitch safety seams at all critical seams with heavy bar tacking at high stress areas
  • Perforated panels on thighs and lower legs provide ample ventilation
  • Hard anodized aluminum on knees are exposed yet recessed into the garment for extra protection and durability

  • Sas-Tec CE Level 1 certified SC-1/07 hip protectors are included
  • Phantom Black NightViz reflective panels on thighs and knees for increased nighttime visibility
  • Accordion stretch panels both vertically and horizontally at waist for snug fit and good range of motion whether seated or standing

Great concept
I think Scorpion is really onto something with their AST concept. It seems like there is a pretty large gap between full knee-slider pants meant for the track, and more relaxed touring oriented gear. I previously owned a pair of Dainese Pony C2 pants, and these Ravins are everything I had hoped the Daineses would be. Right out of the box they feel like a pair of worn in jeans, but have significant armor where it counts. I bought these to go with the Ravin jacket, and combined it makes an excellent combo for spirited street riding. I don't intend to be dragging knees on public roads, but would still like the features and protection of a leather suit. These pants fill that need perfectly. I am 5'11" and 180ish pounds and the large fits great.

Inseam size off
I love this pants. The inseam for the small and medium size is off. It is not 33 in. That value was provided by Scorpion as an approximate. It is more like 30 in. on the medium size and around 29 in. on the small size (which is the one I own).
I love Scorpion products. I am extremly satisfied with this product!

Black and more black!
I purchased these to match/compliment my Ravin Jacket. These pants are very high quality in their construction. These are my first motorcycle pants, so I don't have anything to compare to.

These fit very snug. I imagine after a little bit of break-in time, they will be super comfy, as they're already pretty comfortable right out of the box. I'm not used to wearing such form-fitting pants, but they really do feel well protected, and don't seem to restrict riding movements at all. Standing and walking around however, is a little odd. Combined with the jacket and riding boots, its kind of awkward to stand straight up. Everything has a tuck pre-curve built in, so standing up is weird.

The style is right on point with what I was looking for. The pockets are basically useless with how snug the pants fit, but I guess they're there if you really need to stuff something in them.

The zip interface for the jacket is nice, if a little awkward to zip up. The inseam fabric helps vent a lot of air, compared to the perforated panels on the tops of the thighs.

Superb leather pant
These are a top notch leather pant. Revzilla priced matched a competitors price, I got a really good deal. Air flow is adequate, surprised how warm they are though, 45 degrees and still warm. Fit is right on. I'm 5' 11" about 195, large is perfect.

I was looking for a 2 piece leather suit to wear on the street (since my 1 piece A* is a pain if I get off the bike and grab a drink or bite to eat). Enter the Scorpion Ravin set. I love the black on black scheme and aluminum sliders, the look is top notch. So is the fabric, the leather is softer than any other motorcycle gear that I own, except for maybe my Icon Pursuit gloves (which are full goat skin). In general I'm a big fan of Scorpion's Black Emperor series, I also own their touring Yukon Jacket/Pants. Size wise, I'm 5'10", 160lb, 41" chest, and I wear a size 16/35 shirt & 31/31 pants. The jacket is definitely tight, but I imagine it will loosen up a bit as it wears in. I can fit both the chest protector and liner without issue. The pants fit perfect, definitely very happy there. Overall I definitely recommend this set to anyone looking for go-fast sportbike attire for the street.

What are these pants for ants!?! But nice once you get a pair that fit.
Ordered these for my waist size (34). The pants that arrived were nowhere near that. The measured waist was 31, they are kind of hip-huggers, and the legs were made for someone who recovered from polio and skipped leg day at the gym forever. Was nervous about ordering the next size up, but it actually fit and measured 34" at the waist.

I have big legs (skating, skiing, weights) and these are tight, but no tighter than other leathers I've owned in the past. I like their breathability and the light-ish armor. I'm not going to race in these, but will exercise them on mountain roads so I'm glad for the protection.

My one beef is the zipper that attaches the to the jacket: teeny tiny zipper. Makes it difficult to find the connection without taking the jacket off first, and forget about zipping it up/unzipping with gloves on. I may end up going to a dressmaker to get that zipper replaced because its fiddly when I want to get out and be on the road.

Well worth the money. My old touring leathers cost more, and weren't nearly as well built, so I'm glad I got these

Have the jacket, these match and seem like they'll work for fast work in the mountains.

I wanted a high degree of protection in a street/sport touring pant. These should work nicely with my Furygan jacket.

I really like the features and I intend to buy the jacket. SaStech CE armor and stealthy looks.

A recent 40 mph low side which sent me through a guardrail made me start thinking about some more serious protection. I was we'll protected on my upper body but with only jeans and icon cloverleafs on my lower. I got lucky and the cloverleaf was the only part of my leg to hit the guardrail post. I knew it was time to think about more serious protection for my entire legs and had to replace my jacket from the crash and chose the ravin jacket and decided to pair it with the ravin pants.

Are the aluminum knee sliders easily replaceable?
Chris T on Feb 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Doesn't look like it, they are embedded into the fabric, not like traditional knee pucks.
Alright, so we've got two lines from Scorpion. The Raven, and the Clutch. Are the pants/jackets compatible across the lines - will they all zip into each other? And which line (Raven or Clutch) has more protection/is more suitable for the racetrack?
A S on Jul 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Not sure if the zippers are the same but they would not likely line up properly because the ravin is a very short fitting jacket where the clutch jacket is longer in the waist. The ravin is more street commuter oriented. I like the jacket alot but returned the ravin pants for fashion and functionality reasons as I'd hate to admit it. I ride a cruiser most of the time and they just didn't work for me. The ravin pants were very protective and if you get the right size everything sits in the right place. The clutch outfit is definitely more for the track with the option for knee sliders on the pants but the jacket is not as protective out of the box. The ravin jacket comes with CE back and chest but the clutch jacket comes with just pe foam back and no chest protection. The clutch jacket also has a speed hump making it more track oriented again. The ravin outfit is more for a commuter who doesn't mind walking into work and everywhere else in black leather tights. The ravin is for the track. I've never worn the clutch pants but did try the clutch jacket and it is very comfortable. The clutch jacket feels and looks much bulkier than the ravin.
I have a Dainese jacket, and please can anyone tell me if they've gotten them to zipper/mate up together?
