Does not work properly. Voice is garbled.
I ordered the SC1 communications module for my C4 helmet. I just finished a 2500+ mile ride through Canada with two other riders who both had Sena headsets. Neither of them could understand what I was saying clearly but they both could hear each other just fine. I noticed that I am not the only one with this problem while doing some research. I contacted both Schuberth and Sena directly over a week ago and have not heard anything back. Not the best of customer service.

Great system
I installed this in my new R2 helmet (see that review for information about the helmet)

Sound quality is amazing. Has great bass and clear treble.
Familiar Sena voice prompts. (this unit is closely related to the 10U)
Very easy to control with only 2 buttons (+ and -)
Installation was very easy.
Battery came with enough charge to test it out and pair with my iPhone and Rider 400 GPS. Did a short ride and still had battery.
Automatic level control adjusts music volume based on ambient noise. Works very well.

The SC1A apparently has FM radio and slightly better intercom range.

Very disappointed
Let me start with saying that I was very happy to know that finally Schuberth and Sena worked together to perfect the experience of riders with the all new Schuberth C4. I prefer Sena products better of the competitors (Scala)
I loved the idea of the integrated system within the new helmet and I couldn’t wait to test it this weekend. Here is my experience and impression of the new SC1 after 640 miles:
Let’s start with the charging port on the unit (Micro USB)- it is very difficult to hold the helmet in one hand and with other hand insert the male port while trying to have the port cover open. You need to have the helmet upside down on a surface and careful not to scratch the helmet. But that is not the only design issue. The biggest issue is that you will not be able to leave the helmet seating on a surface to charge as the design and location of the port might cause the port to damage or disconnect as it pushes against the surface. Wrong place for the port!
Now let’s move to actual usability:
At first, all was great (beside my wrong configuration of need to speak load to open intercom connections- my throat hurt after today ride. I connected my SC1 with my wife SRC on Schuberth C3 Pro and my NAV V. Nice at the beginning, no issues. Then the problems start: if my lid was open, I could not initiate connection with voice command because of the microphone location, so lid must be close all the time.
Most of the time, my wife could not understand what I say and I had to repeat over and over, loader and loader (we use her helmet with my Arai XD4 with Sena SMH10 and no issues at all). From time to time she told me I sound like inside a jar or muffled.
In many occasions, I saw message on my NAV V: Bluetooth disconnected (and I still could hear instructions from the navigation).
In some other instances the navigation voice commands cut off or sound not clear at all (like you hear when you have bad wireless connection on your phone).
Now, let’s talk on buttons functions: very hard to use it with gloves on, almost not possible at all!
Charging indicator: light is not easily visible if you look at the helmet from the side. You need to always lift the helmet and look at the inside of the helmet and look for the color.
Frankly, I am very disappointed, I chose the helmet because of the SC1 system (as I was looking at different helmet for a while).
I hope you going to improve it soon and come with SW version updates that will improve connectivity, sound quality and sensitivity.
At this point I rate the SC1 with 2 stars out of 5. Please do something to correct it.

Hands Free Features don't work with Samsung S7
Everything else works great but Schuberth & Sena didn't test it with the largest Android phone manufacturer in the world (Samsung's sold 55+ million S7 series phones). After 2+ weeks of having their "tech support" tell me to reboot or uninstall/reinstall the firmware numerous times, now I have to send it back to get a new one and install their defective firmware again... World's most expensive helmet with the world's most terrible service.

I chose this instead of the advanced because I won't be talking to a lot of riders and my iphone will take care of the FM radio.

Is this system compatible with schuberths older src system pro? Since it is based on sena does it pair as phone? Would this limit my ablility to pair with my other devices, such as my phone and gps simultaneously?
