REV'IT Borealis Gore-Tex Gloves

The REV'IT Borealis Gore-Tex Gloves are as technical a winter glove as it gets. The designers at REV'IT! have recognized a very specific need in the motorcycling community and designed the Borealis Gloves to satisfy that need completely. With a highly insulative PrimaLoft Gold liner on the back of the hand yet no insulation on the palm allows for riders with heated grips to maximize tactile feedback while still staying nice and toasty. Given that the top of the hand and fingers are the most exposed the high concentration of thermal material not only guards against cold weather, but also keeps in the heat rising off of the grips.

  • Waterproofing: Gore-Tex Gloves + Gore grip technology

Best Winter Gloves I've Found
The reason these are only 4 stars instead of 5 is that the fit and feel is still a bit bulky. The protection seems to be all there. I've had them in light to medium rain. While it wasn't a real downpour, it was enough to show they keep me dry. My commute to work is about 30 minutes at 60 mph, and I've been comfortable from the 50's by themselves down to the low 30's and high 20's once I turn on the heated grips. They work better with heated grips than anything else I've had. The palms let the heat in from the grips, and the insulation on the back keeps it in. The fit is pretty good, but they are on the bulky side as are any winter glove. The thumb is a little big on me, unlike my other Rev'It gloves - not enough to get cold, but enough to make using the turn signal awkward. Still a great glove and I love the one-handed cuff closure - I really can fasten and loosen them with one gloved hand.

GREAT WINTER GLOVE!!
I ride all winter in northern IL and southern WIS. these gloves work perfect with heated grips.I have only been out on short 2-3 hour trips in 20-40 degree weather and have been very comfortable. Keep in mind if you take a guy from a warm climate, he will be cold riding a motorcycle in the winter no matter what hes has on. (ride safe)

Just a sizing review
My hand measures 9". That falls right in the middle of a size L for this glove. I read other revit reviews and ordered a size up to an XL. The glove felt comfortable across the body of the hand (if not a bit loose), but the fingers were way too long for me. I returned for a size L. The Large fit perfectly across the body of the hand and the fingers were just the right length (except the thumb was longer than the others on me). HOWEVER, the seesoft knuckle protector and the material around it became very tight, constrictive and uncomfortable when my hand clinched into the riding position. This is a real bummer, since the glove fit so dang well. I wore them on the couch for a while and watched a hockey game, but the constriction remained very uncomfortable. I think they just need to add some stretch around that seesoft knuckle protector? I had to return them. Going to try the Held cold champ.

Great Gloves for Texas winter
Just returned from a 1800 mile trip to west Texas. Rode in Temperatures from 39 degrees to 80 degrees. I purchased size 2 xl which is my usual size. Gloves work great with heated grips set on 2-4 up to about 55 degrees. Above 55 degrees heated grips are not necessary. At about 65 degrees they start getting hot so changed to basic leather gloves. The closure system is annoying at best. I cut the closure straps off the gloves and with just the velcro closure, everything works great.

California Winter Riding
I bought these gloves to replace my Held Airstreams II's for Winter riding in Northern California after a lot of research.

Rain protection was my first concern when purchasing, but it can get pretty cold here. I have been riding with them for about 2-3 weeks now and while they keep my hands warm in anything above ~45F, anything lower and your fingers will still be freezing cold.

I thought they would have kept my hands warm a little longer, but no such luck. I only have about a 15-20 minute commute to work, nothing on the freeway, and this morning it was in the mid 30's and my hands were painfully cold by the time I arrived.

I didn't think it would ever be necessary here in CA, but I may look at putting heated grips on the bike.

Otherwise, they are quality gloves, a little big/bulky, but you quickly get used to it. My hand measures 9", I am a L in my Held gloves, but I got XL here, and while slightly long in the the thumb, they fit very well.

Missed the mark on sizing.
Like one of the other reviewers, I found the gloves to fit too tight across the knuckle while fitting fine in the finger length. Damn shame. Nice gloves otherwise. I like the gauntlet tightening system, though the gauntlets could stand to be a bit longer (important on a cold weather glove when bulk starts to build up under jacket sleeves). Would also like to see a genuine rain wipe along the left thumb.

Excellent Winter gloves
These gloves are extremely well made (and for the price they BETTER be), comfortable, and designed exactly for their purpose as a warm motorcycle glove. I loathed paying over 200 bucks for these. But you do get what you pay for.

Perfect glove for that 35-60 degree range
I am a dyed in the wool believer in Rev'it gloves. True, there are tons of good options out there, but Rev'it just seems to meet my needs as far as sizing, styling, and price point go.

The Borealis GTX seemed like an obvious choice when I was ready to upgrade my winter gloves. Gore Tex works as advertised.

The single hand cinch system is OK. It isn't super rad or revolutionary, but it works. It definitely wasn't something I considered when choosing a new glove.

All in all, I'd recommend them.

Ice Blocks
The review title says it all, your hands feel like clammy ice blocks after half an hour in these gloves. Not buying the Goretex hype.
