Puig Touring Windscreen Suzuki V-Strom 1000

For long distance rides, PUIG introduces the Touring series to minimize wind-blast. These screens raise the wind-blast several centimeters allowing a more comfortable position. Most screens feature a shaded part on the lower section of the screen to cover cables behind the speedometer.

This is the solution to wind buffeting for the Vstrom 1000
I wear a western hat while riding, the factory windshield offered minimal wind deflection so after reading reviews I ordered this wind screen. It mounts on factory mounts and does an excellent job. I am 6' tall and have the screen on the middle tilt setting on the mounts. Even behind semi trucks the buffeting is mild. This wind screen is very solid and is about .2 inches thick so should last a long time. I have driven 2000 miles since mounting this wind shield, had some rain, ran 80 mph on freeways and 40 mph on back roads with excellent results.

Much taller than stock
I'm 6'4" and the stock screen was laughable in terms of wind protection, even at its highest settings. I was looking for a screen that would move the wind over and around me and really limit the amount of noise and buffeting. This Puig touring wind screen is significantly taller than the stock screen, (don't have measurments), but at highway speeds of 80 MPH+ I've found this to be a massive improvement. I am much taller than most I would recommend anyone with the same concerns to give this a try. Great price too. Mine is in the smoked color, and it is plenty visible, (chose that color b/c the bike is black).

Great windshield with good air flow and little buffeting
I felt I was taking a chance when I bought the Puig Touring Windshield. The listing on Revzilla doesn't clearly give the dimensions; I got rough dimensions from the Puig website, although the only method to ascertain it was the same windshield was that it looked the same in the picture. That said, it turned out great. The two inches of adjustment on my DL1000 saved the day, and the windshield is just the right height. It is a fabulous deal too. This windshield is an easy change with the stock windshield too. Hey Revzilla, Put the dimensions on the listing!

great screen
I really like the screen it's big enough to block most of the wind but still let some pass for cooling. Not sure why they sell a small one as you would not be able to see through it because it's pretty tall. I'm 5 10 when the screen is pushed all the way forward I look right through it. That's in the high position. Overall I really like the screenbill

Wind Management Windscreen
The windscreen provides the airflow management taking away the buffeting around the helmet, but allowing airflow around the arms and shoulders for sufficient cooling through jacket vents. Having only had to clean the windscreen 4 times so far I can't vouch for the durability, but it has not yet pitted from any of the object that have made contact.

Easiest, best, and least expensive windshield solution ever!
The incredibly low price of the Puig Touring Windscreen caused me to wonder if it might be inferior to other windscreens that cost twice as much or more, but I figured that I should give it a try. Man, am I pleased that I chose this windscreen for my 2014 V-Strom 1000. The installation was a snap (just be careful to not damage the grommets while prying them from the stock windscreen), the screen fits the look of the bike as well or better than the stock screen, and the quiet pocket created by the screen is fantastic!

I am 6 ft. tall, and have relatively short legs, so I sit very tall on my motorcycles. For years I have struggled to find screens (custom or otherwise) that were tall enough for me. The combination of the Puig Touring screen and the multiple mounting adjustments on the bike allow me to raise the screen so high that I would almost have to look through it, rather than over the top. The protection is so great, and there is so little buffeting, that I can happily ride with my helmet faceshield open, and without having to wear earplugs (although I will still wear earplugs on extended rides).

I only rated the "durability" of the screen as good, because I have not had it on the bike for very long. I suspect that it will last a long time, but we will just have to wait and see. Happy motoring!

Puig windscreen
Very easy install, good quality. Could be a little shorter for v-strom. Need to adjust it to the lower settings and I'm 6 feet tall.

Best Windscreen in 37 Years and 200,000+ Miles!
I am 6'0" tall and long in the torso, which makes me sit even "taller" than my height. I have perpetually had problems finding adequate wind protection that is also quiet. I decided to give the Puig Touring Windscreen a try on my new V-Strom 1000, because the price was certainly right, and it also maintains a "factory original" appearance. This windscreen works so well that it is practically "priceless." I can ride with my faceshield open without even giving the windscreen a thought (not noticing things like seats and windscreens is the highest compliment possible!). In foul weather, the Puig screen also provides adequate protection. No regrets with this purchase!

NOTE!!! Do not make the mistake that I originally made. I initially assumed that I should mount the windscreen in the highest possible position; however, that lead to some buffeting, and the need to adjust the windscreens angle at various speeds to reduce that buffeting. I then had the thought that mounting the screen in the lowest position might increase laminar flow behind the screen, and reduce the buffeting. That worked like a charm! I now have the screen mounted in the lowest position, the screen is tilted back as far as possible, and I haven't given it another thought, even during last summer's 4700 mile trip!
