Puig Pro Frame Sliders Kawasaki Ninja 650R

Puig Pro Frame Sliders feature a massive 130mm x 58mm Nylon puck. Each puck mounts via a billet aluminum bracket which requires no bodywork modification. To keep things clean, an end cap with the "PRO Puig" logo covers the mounting bolt on each puck.

Puig not only designed these frame sliders to protect the motorcycle, but the rider too. All pucks feature a rubber bumper on the back facing pointed end to avoid knee and shin injuries from impact in the event of a crash.

Features:

  • No bodywork modification required
  • Protects engine and frame
  • All sliders include grey rubber bumper
  • Rubber bumpers available in other colors (sold separately)

Nice sturdy Frame Slider
Opened packages and not much and very simple. It comes with Instructions, which I only needed to look at the pic for reference. It came with 2 brackets, thick and sturdy. The brackets had their bolts already threaded through. The Main Frame Slider that sticks outside of the fairing also had its bolts already threaded in them too. Last parts were the 2 nuts. That's it! Mounting was so easy! I just needed the instructions for bracket orientation so I would know which way each bracket was going to mount and which side it was going to be on. Installation was so quick. . .removing my fairing was the part that took the longest. One thing though, I had put the brackets on first, then put fairing back on, then I had to mounts the Puig sliders with bolted to the brackest. It wasn't too difficult to get the nut to stay behind the bracket while fairing was mounted. OH, I like how the Puig spacer had a notch so you set the slider correctly on the bracket.
I recommend this product to others. It works on my 2014 Ninja 650R

Looks Nice, Bends easily
Good:
-It looks nice
-Installed easily with good installation instructions
-It sticks out well so it protects the fairings well.
-Great for a low slow driveway tipover

Bad:
-Even the gentle driveway tipover slightly bent the mounting bracket
-The bracket does bend super easily due to having such a long leverage point.
-I low sided on the track in the rain on a slow corner and the the mounting bracket bent all the way back pushing into my frame, It still did grind away but so did some of my fairing. Bike was in one piece with nothing broken and no engine parts damaged but I will look around at other sliders trying to find a more sturdy designs

looks good easy to install
I was able to install and not have to remove the fairings completely on my ninja 650. Blends in well with the design of the bike. Feel better knowing if i take a spill it will minimize impact to bike on its sides.

Dropped it once so far
I ride a ninja 650 which weighs roughly 460. My father dropped the bike while he was moving it and the frame slider took 90% of the fall and my bar end took the rest. Everything feels solid and I feel a lot better knowing if I go down I have a little bit of a safety net

Pricey but worth it
Installed both sides of these in a little more than an hour and a half. Feel solid, sturdy, fit and finish is good. I was worried how they would look on the bike. They look fine the unique shape of these flow well with the faring lines on the bike. I like the fact that no drilling or fairing mods were necessary to install. I also like that the bolt cover, rubber corners and pucks are all easily replaceable. Excellent product Puig!

The good the bad and the ugly
Not a bad looking set of frame sliders, though I'll admit they were bigger than I was expecting. But they don't get in the way and are a bit more to look at than just a couple pegs sticking out. I'm happy with them, just one thing to be careful about is you have to pop off the little plastic covers for the bolts anytime you take them off to get the fairings off, and if you aren't careful you'll break the little plastic tabs. I broke a tab on both sides, so I couldn't tell you the right way to do it, but they still go back in and hold on place so no biggie.

Not very durable
got this product to protect my fairings as I am a new rider. On a very low speed turn I stalled out and the bike began to tip over. It was slowly going down as I did my best to keep it up. The bike hit the pavement very slowly and yet the frame slider bent a lot. It did the job as for protecting the bike. But the product itself doesn't seem to be very high quality

Cheap construction and looks.
I wasn't very happy with this part. Thankfully I never had to see how they performed in a crash.

Two things that gave me a bad impression. One, the mounting bracket only has two mount points. Plus the bracket seems to be made of a cheap metal. I think they would bend relatively easily. Second, they look cheap. They just look like cheap plastic junk to me. Subjective, I know but that's my opinion.

Sliders are a must!
First of all I want to tell the unfortunate accident I just recently experienced. But I am okay. As a rider; safety, safety, safety! No it was not my fault. During the accident the bike fell on its right side. All the right side faring are damage. Had I installed the Sliders it probably would have prevented the damage on the farings.

Is the frame slider a pair of just one?
A shopper on Apr 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It comes in pair. 1 for the left side, and 1 for the right side.
I have 2015 Ninja 650 ABS will this product fit it?
A shopper on Dec 4, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I don't think this particular model will work for you. I looked around and seems the 2014-2015 250/300 are close. I went to Puig's site and this looks like it may fit:

I went to puigusa DOT COM(Revzilla does not allow links to other companies)
-I searched for Kawasaki, Ninja 300, 2014.
-Look for Crash pads R12 (no hole drilling):
-Installation guide can be found on that product.
Is each slider $143 or is it for the pair?
A shopper on Apr 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The sliders came as a pair.
