legos and helmets
great helmet if the pieces stayed in place. every time i put the helmet on or took it off i would have to reassemble my helmet like a lego set. .i have helmets from way back that are used but fully functional. this nexx helmet has failed due to poor design and cheap plastic pieces. only had helmet short time. basically new.

A good helmet, heavy on the bells and whistles
Revzilla had this thing on sale for %36 off. At that price, I'd say this helmet is a pretty great buy for a rider with any sort of ADV objective. Does it seem like a 500/600$ helmet? Not exactly, I'll get to that in a second. Usually I've seen this thing "on sale" for the mid 400s. At that price, you're not too far from buying that Arai that everyone raves about. I've not worn one of those, but my guess is that the Nexx Dual is about 1 tier down from that thing.

That combined ECE/DOT rating is a win in the safety front, in my opinion. In the short time I've owned the thing I've already put it through some light abuses, and the decal work hasn't scratched, the construction feels sturdy, but given the amount of greeble involved in the Dual's bells and whistles, something is bound to give. Not sure what it'll be yet, but I doubt it will be anything important.

If you're getting the sense from the description of this thing that it has a ridiculous amount of modular features, that would be because it does. It almost feels like too much to manage, honestly. I could've done without the dedicated port for the special bluetooth thingy. The camera plates may still prove to be a nice touch. The removable peak is really nice for a few particular environments, but it's quite a short peak without the extender, and the only time I see really needing to remove it is a racetrack - especially since it seems to get louder with the peak off. I view most of these things as positives, and others may find much more of it useful, but it really is quite a lot to manage.

The crown of the helmet fits about true to size, the cheekpads may eventually too, but they're taking their time breaking. They're really thick, and I may pull out a bit of the foam in there. I am going to wait on that though, because they do seem to be a tiny bit better each time, and no longer hurt to wear. There is also plenty of room for glasses. With the peak on, the visor seems to seal out sound really well. It's no Schuberth, but its a respectably quiet lid. That does change when you open the forehead vents though- they get very loud at speed. I ride with a pretty large windscreen, but I've been getting up on the pegs for this review. While it is loud-ish it's not as loud as the Bilt Explorer I used to ride in. That being said, both the forehead and the chin vent seem to genuinely ventilate. This is the first helmet I've owned where it made a real difference in air-flow.

Lastly, I want to say I think this lid is a real looker. It's the first one I've owned with a graphic on it, thanks largely to these kind folks selling the 'voyager' graphic for $50 less than the plain one, but I think this helmet would look great even without a graphic. The stubby peak and hefty chin-bar are real cool. The latter also offers some neck protection, if I understand correctly.

All in all, a good buy for the price. I'd recommend this thing.

Great value
I really like this helmet. This is my first modular helmet and I am wondering why I waited so long. The fit is true and vision is good. The airflow is pretty good at highway speeds doing head checks, comfortable so far on 200mi trip and noise isn’t horrible even without my plugs.

This helmet kicks butt
Bought this helmet for a recent off-road trip with the fantastic folks at RawHyde Adventures. I was moving from a G-Max Modular and not really sure how I would like having the peak on there. I called the Revzilla customer service line and the guy I talked to said it was a great helmet but he thought it was a bit bulky and heavy compared to some other ADV helmets. He suggested a few others to look at but by comparison the others didn't have as many features and didn't look as good in my opinion so I went with the NEXX. I tried it on when I got it and couldn't have been happier. I have a tiny head and this fit great and was more comfortable than my last one. When I actually got to ride with it, I was even happier. The drop down sun visor is great and having the peak was really beneficial for keeping the California sun at bay. I replaced the front vent with the mesh looking one and always felt like I was getting plenty of air inside the helmet. The top vents really flow some good air to the forehead and I could especially feel it if I turned my head slightly left or right and faced one of those vents straight forward. I would feel a big rush of air and hear a little whistle as the air rushed into the helmet through the vent. As most have said there was some fogging on cool mornings when I was stopped. Another gentlemen with me on the trip had the pinlock visor and said he never got any fogging so I'll definitely be purchasing that. All in all I couldn't be happier with my first true ADV helmet purchase and would absolutely buy this helmet again if I needed too.

Very good helmet
I had a x-12 xl of shoei when I had my bike sport, now i have a adventure motorcycle and I chose the xl of Nexx also after having discussed with a counselor of Revzilla.. I have my helmet for a few weeks and it's perfect.

I installed my SENA communicator smh10r on it. Of course it's not like the nexx system but I installed it over the original nexx side plate and after some modification it fits perfectly. All the wires and the battery are inside the helmet.
During the installation of the communicator, I found that the pads inside are still difficult to adjust compared to my shoei but it goes.

The visor is practical but not dark enough on a sunny day , I would have preferred to have a visor a little darker but it is my personal preference but it goes too.

The installation plates for the hd cameras, on my helmet, on one side .. it is slightly blurry then when we have a strong side wind , we hear a little slamming but I fixed the whole by adding a thin layer of paper to solidify and it's perfect now.
At high speed, the helmet remains very stable and quiet even with the visor on it. I always leave it on.
we have a very good vision because the visor is very wide.
It is a very good helmet and I love enduro style. It is very light and ventilated during hot temperatures. I will probably order another one for my wife.I hope to have helped the future buyer of this helmet by my remarks thanks Revzilla !!!

Excellent dual sport helmet
A feature rich helmet. Fits like a Shoei off the shelf with much additional adjustability. Built in helmet cam mounts for left, right, top mounting are a rarity in helmets and one of the reasons I made the purchase. I am going on a 1,500 mile wilderness dual sport trip and will utilize all the helmet's features. The X-Comm system was not available when I bought the helmet so I went with the Sena SHM10R which is virtually the exact same system and saved $140 in the process. It works perfectly and uses all the cutouts for the X-Comm except you simply mount the SHM10R unit in front of where the X-Comm would mount. You can even tuck the battery in the same cutout inside the helmet. I am very pleased with the helmet.

An excellent first premium helmet
As this was my first premium helmet purchase, my experience could and should be suspicious, but I believe I hit a home run with my first at bat. I am so delighted with my purchase and the overall quality of the Nexx XD-1. There are so many great features, that I can see why it is so regarded as a feature rich helmet. I have not owned it very long but experience thus far has been great. In particular, I really like the drop down internal visor. Because I wear glasses, it is particularly useful when on short jaunts to remove the sunlight glare. It is comfortable and yet, it gives you a feeling of being protected. I could go on, but let me get to some of the points which could help prospective buyers.

First, fit was good, though I am definitely still in a break-in period. However, I measure as a medium though I am just a tick below being a large. My head is definitely more round which tends to make fitting in an intermediate oval uncomfortable. I went with a large and I am so glad I did, since the roundness of my head fills the interior more laterally, the large worked much better. Second, installing the peak extension was not as intuitive as first thought. The enclosed instructions were rather weak, so I found a YouTube video and it straightened me out. Third, with some of the cool days of a Colorado Spring, fogging immediately became a factor. I am satisfied with the air flow, but a pinlock visor addition is definitely on my purchase horizon. Just glad that Nexx made it easy to add.

All in all, I am very satisfied and as with my other items I have purchaed, Revzilla was spot on with product shipping, pricing, and product information. They make it easy.

Excellent Adventure Bike Helmet
Fit and finish is very good, far better than I expected. Fits very much like my Arai helmets. Not as light as my Schuberth C3 Pro but certainly not what I'd call heavy. Noise level is comparable to my Arai's, obviously not as quiet as the Schuberth.
Very pleased with my purchase, perfect helmet for adventure bike riders.

Great but disappointing
I love this helmet in all ways except the fact that the Sena com system made specifically for it is not available. This was one of the main reasons I bought this helmet. I've contacted both Sena and Nexx and they both blame the other. I will never buy products from either of these dishonest companies again.

Not Convinced
This is one of the very few negative reviews I have done. Overall this helmet is just okay. On the positive side I have to say the graphics are nice and its also light. For the price point I believe it should be so much better. For instance the chin curtain when fitted falls off almost immediately. Reattach...fall off...reattach... etc. Inspection of the area to which the curtain fits reveals on this helmet (maybe its only this one) a poorly made fit and chin curtain and its needed to stop some of the wind noise.

The helmet has an overall poor quality feel about it. With the helmet on it creaks and moans if you pull at the chin piece. The inside should be better padded. The peak catches the wind badly over 60mph. I have been used to high quality helmets which admittedly are more expensive. So the lesson is...you get what you pay for. However, at this price point I cannot honestly recommend it for anyone else to buy.

Good fit and quality construction. Be careful of the chim draft guard coming off accidentally but I never use it unless it’s really cold. Ability to move beak for track day use and switch back again without tools is convenient. Intregrated com mount is the clincher as few other ADV helmets offer this and the NEXX com unit is made by Sena so it’s best in class stuff.

The NEXX XD1 has more features at a lower price than the other high-end helmets. I have no issues so far with the cheek pads falling out or connectors falling off as some reported. As dualsport helmets go it is very quiet and doesn't buffet at highway speeds. Fit is snug but very comfortable. I wish the sun visor came down farther so it blocks more wind and is less visible. Little disappointed the white of the helmet does not match the white of the visor. Great helmet and I would recommend it.

What head shape is this? Intermediate or long oval? When is the nexx comm coming and how much $
A shopper on Apr 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: the Helmet have the same shape of shoei x-12.. oval intermediate the fit is the same. i have a XL in Shoei and now XL in Nexx.
Hello I received the helmet and I love it for its functions price style and price.
I want to add a communicator on it and Nexx are using the Xcom and I wander if the sena snh10r is exactly the same and can be installed exact same? I have many sena devices and I like them all and I prefer to have a sena on rather than the X com . Can you please help me out ? Thanks
A shopper on Nov 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I mounted an SMH10 on mine. It has to be mounted just forward of where the Xcom mounts. It's kind of in a weird spot but functions fine. I was going to get the Xcom but don't want to spend the extra cash for it. The Sena functions well enough where I mounted it.
I'm right on the cusp for sizes between medium and large according to the size chart. The Shoei Hornet X2 has a similar size chart and when I tried the Shoei Hornet X2 on, the medium was too small and the large fit properly. I was wondering if these two helmets are similar in fit? Thanks!
A shopper on Apr 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I would recommend ordering the large then if you are on the verge of the two sizes. My reasoning for this is I ordered the large and it is very snug getting on, almost too snug. However, it is the right size for me. Worse that can happen is you have to send back for the more appropriate size. Good luck and you'll definitely love this helmet. I have no regrets purchasing mine. Be safe.
Does the red and black voyager have the xcom port on the side? In the picture it doesnt look the same as the Baja?
