Expensive, but worth it...
If you need something more "professional" looking than a backpack, the Kriega Urban Messenger Bag is a great option. It's expensive, yes. But it will do anything that a backpack will do, and will look better doing it. The fit is particularly nice -- the side that sits against your back is fully rubberized, so it won't slide around, especially with the front strap clicked in. It also sits nice and low on your back, so it doesn't catch on your helmet, as backpacks sometimes do. And it's much easier to get on/off over an armored jacket than a backpack is.

If I had one issue with it, it's that it could use a few more zippered pouches to keep things like pens, flash drives, business cards, phone, etc. It's not a deal killer, but would be a nice option. The Kube Pocket is a nice add-on, and creates an very convenient place to keep a phone and wallet.

Nice Messenger Bag
I was looking for a motorcycle messenger bag for the city, the Kriega Urban WP Messenger Bag gets it done. It doesn't distribute the weight quite as well as my OGIO Mach 3 backpack (since it has one strap and not two), but it's much better for carrying into an office environment. The fit and finish is very nice, you can tell it's going to last for years to come. Haven't tested the waterproof functionality yet, but I can't imagine it leaking. I paired this with the Kriega Kube Pocket, it's great for my garage door opener, one press and I'm in.

Great replacement for backpack
I love this bag. Being water proof is a great feeling when I have to head home in the rain with my laptop and iPad on my back. I will say it looks a lot smaller than I expected but it can pack a lot. This time of year it's pretty chilly in the morning so I'll wear my leather jacket to work then it's in the 90's on my way home. This thing has enough room to pack not only my tech but I can stash my leather jacket and still have plenty of room for misc stuff. Best purchase I've made in a long time.

Best bag I've ever owned!
It took me a while to pull the trigger on a Kriega because of the cost. I got by with bags that I currently owned, but the Messenger Bag is a game changer for me. I mainly commute on my bike, so ease of sliding the bag around me to access the zippered pocket where I keep my wallet has been amazing. Unfortunately I have had to test the waterproof capabilities of this bag (summers in FL) and can attest that they work as advertised. My sneakers, change of clothes and laptop were bone dry.
On the occasion that I do get out to do some twisties, I'll take the bag anyway to hold my wallet/phone/water, because my bike has a single seat for the rider and pillion (getting under my seat isn't as easy when you have to take the whole thing off).
I look forward to expanding my storage with the Kube as soon as I can.
All in all, an amazing product, and well worth the money!

Dry, Easy, Rugged, Stylish
My first impression when I unpacked this bag was "I may never need another bag, this thing is going to last forever." Extremely well made with durable materials. I won't get into the tech specs of the material details (that's available above), but the look and feel of them is very rugged and seams, zipper, etc are solidly manufactured.

I haven't exposed it to torrential downpour conditions yet, but it remained bone dry in moderate rain. Due to the materials and design, I can't imagine a way your contents could possibly get wet.

Speaking of that zipper... It's a great zipper, waterproof, sturdy. Which is a good thing because I've had to pull the absolute s*%t out of it. The problem is that the inner lining of the side entry pouch sometimes gets caught in the zipper. And when it does it takes a herculean effort to get it uncaught. I'm concerned that this will eventually lead to tearing of that inner lining.

Videos have mentioned the fact that the external material is slightly 'tacky' in nature and promotes it staying put on your back when riding without the need of the waist strap. This is true almost to a fault. Depending on the material of your jacket, swinging this thing around for quick access to that side pouch for example takes serious tugging without loosening the shoulder strap. Not a negative, just an observation.

Those are my only "observations" with this bag though. It gets stars across the board, the only things I would add is maybe external zipper access to the front flap pouch (if that could be done without jeopardizing dryness) and a slim padded separator in the main compartment for a laptop or other sensitive electronics.

Excellent bag once it's worn for a few days
I own several other kriega products, the Urban WP is from the same mold. High quality components, great fit. As one reviewer noted, the internal zipper gets stuck on the pocket fabric...i ended up running duct tape on the inside to keep it pulled down...annoying.
Took me a few days to get the hang of the bag, such as fit (it won't hardly more once cinched down) and access (zipper issue, stiff material), now i won't be found without it. You will need a laptop sleeve if you carry a laptop...no padding to speak of.
Highly recommended, this replaced my R30 backpack just fine.

Hey guys, this is more of an idea. I got the strap that no one uses and attached the buckles on to the sides where one of the loops is that can hold a US-5. Now, the top can attach to the side like dude in the video said. Hope it helps someone.

Great Commute/Work Bag
I bought this bag to replace a backpack that I had been using and I wanted something more professional. I ride year round in California, rain or shine, and so weather proofing was key. I haven't gotten to test it in the wet yet but I have other roll top bags and none of them have failed me yet. The white interior layer is removable and so I did and I ended up rolling the rolltop back in on itself so that the bag simply acts as a bag and I don't have to go through the hassle of opening it when I don't need the weather protectiveness. The only thing that would have made this review flawless is if they had added interior pockets and organization spots. Otherwise, the bag stays in place on my back without the waist straps and is easy to put on and take off. I highly recommend.

Sweet waterproof and durable bag
I was looking to replace my existing messenger bag and various backpacks that were not motorcycle purpose built with this puppy. Awesome bag. It's rugged, waterproof and super easy to put on, tighten up and go. The backside is rubberized so when it's tightened down, there is NO movement once it's on your back and you are on the road. You actually have to adjust your jacket once it's in place.
I will mention that the convenient ZIPPER pocket is NOT ACCESSIBLE if you have a pair of the 5 L pouches attached to the front - which is kind of a bumber. I am going to be picking up an organizational accessory from Tom Bin (Horizontal Freudian Slip) and maybe a Horizontal Brain Cell for some extra laptop protection.

Excellent bag with a waterproof zipper issue.
Great bag. it doesn't move on your back, easy to access items. I'm not used to the "dump everything into it" purse-like bags, but I'm getting used to it. My biggest complaint is the waterproof zipper and the inside lining on that pocket. the lining gets caught in the zipper EVERY SINGLE TIME I'm unzipping it. very annoying. Other than that, great bag.

I commute to work on my Diavel. I only have two hands (could really use a couple more, looking at you, lazy geneticists!) and need both for bike controls. This gives me something to tote the laptop in that doesn't harm the bodywork.

any pics available for the inside. i'd like to be able to carry a small laptop (11") and maybe a small DSLR camera. would it be able to hold both items?
Daniel A on Aug 31, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, should be no problem, but the camera might make the bag bulge a bit.
Where was this bag made?
A shopper on Aug 31, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Designed in the UK, made in China.
any pics available for the inside. i'd like to be able to carry a small laptop (11") and maybe a small DSLR camera. would it be able to hold both items?
A shopper on Aug 31, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It is large enough to hold both but you may want a laptop sleeve so they will have protection from bumping into one another.
If you had the choice to buy again would you be more likely to consider the smaller Sling instead?
A shopper on Jul 12, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I'd stick with this bag. It's just big enough for a laptop and a few other items (works for commuting to work and school in the same day) but not huge. You don't notice it once you've pulled the strap tight, so to me there's no good reason for a smaller bag.
Will it fit a six pack in it?
Elliot R on Feb 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will, you can fit a medium size alpinestars textile jacket with back armor inserted into the waterproof compartment and still be able to fit a good size textbook or two in there as well. If your going to load it to the max I would suggest including the waist strap, since the bag will shift from side to side.
Would this be too small for a 17" laptop?
Jonathan S on Apr 18, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hey, fancy that. I just bought one, and manage a computer store. I slipped in an Inspiron N7110, which is a fairly typical 17", to test for you.

The answer is, "sorta." The laptop fits in snugly, without having to force it. Room for almost nothing else.

However, there isn't enough cushion to bear more than delicate handling. You could fit the laptop into a harder sleeve-type case for carrying inside this bag, but that would take a "snug" fit into a "tight/forcing it" fit.

I do recommend the bag strongly in general, but with reservations for carrying a 17".
Will this bag attach to a Triumph Bonneville T100 rack behind the seat? If not, could I put it on there with some netting or something? I'd love a work bag that I can mount behind my seat rather than wear on my back. Thanks!
John C on Feb 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The bag has these small tabs in the front that allow you to attach smaller bags which would sit under the flap (shown in website product video). These loops are very strong, I imagine you could use a large carabiner or other device to clip the bag to the rack.
How high up on your back can this be worn? I have a tail bag on my super duke and I want to know if this will hit it while riding...
Tim T on Jan 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Tim, this bag can ride pretty high. One nice thing about this bag vs regular messenger bags is the shoulder strap is really formed and fitted. I have a sport bike and have a pretty bent over riding position. Once you cinch the strap up it does not move around. They did a nice job with this thing
Will this bag fit a MacBook Pro 15 inch?
Fidel P on Jan 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Easily, I carry the Kriega laptop sleeve inside the main compartment of the bag, and that bag will accept a 17" laptop.
I have a US 20 that i use as a tail bag with the sub frame straps. Is this designed to mount to the tail in a similar way with the same straps?
Stephen K on Jul 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The bag does have a bunch of attachment loops on either side which were designed to attach US5 or US 10 bags to the front of the bag. These same loops can be used to secure the bag to your bike in a similar fashion. So, although not specifically designed with that purpose in mind, it can be done.
